(See bottom of post for update.) TJ Ducklo, the deputy press secretary for the Biden administration, has been suspended from work for one week for allegedly telling a female reporter from Politico "I will destroy you." The reporter, Tara Palmeri, was asking questions about a story Ducklo did not want her to cover. Specifically, his romantic relationship with another member of the press.

Campus 'Confucius Institutes' have been repeatedly accused of spreading Chinese Communist Party propaganda in the United States for years. Trump took action on this issue last year, following the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic. Biden is now turning back the clock and reversing this policy, which makes no sense.

The Miami Herald and McClatchy DC reported that President Joe Biden's administration has started looking into domestic travel restrictions thanks to the COVID-19 mutation:
Outbreaks of the new variants — including a highly contagious one first identified in the United Kingdom, as well as others from South Africa and Brazil that scientists worry can evade existing vaccines — have lent urgency to a review of potential travel restrictions within the United States, one federal official said.

To the shock of no one, President Joe Biden and the CDC skirted around his declaration of requiring masks on planes, trains, and federal property. Another order quietly came about on January 28th, which mentioned compliance "consistent with CDC guidelines and applicable law." So those who thought Biden would go farther were right. He just did it through the CDC, which requires masks in all modes of transportation. It went into effect this week.

For the last four years, we watched as journalists in the White House press room treated Trump's press people with outright hostility. Now we are learning that the Biden White House has allegedly been asking reporters to submit their questions in advance, presumably so there won't be any surprises. If you watched how the Biden campaign dealt with the press before the election, none of this would surprise you.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the biggest hot-button issues has been the closure of schools. While some states such as Florida reopened schools months ago, others have remained shut, often at the behest of teacher unions. Biden's pick for deputy secretary of education is Cindy Marten, the superintendent of schools in San Diego. She is on the side of unions and closure.

Joe Biden has been president for a little over two weeks, and it already feels like six months. I knew that when Democrats and the media kept claiming that Biden would return to normalcy, it was a lie, but I didn't realize how bad it would be. It's a disaster on multiple levels.
