A picture really is worth a thousand words. Just look at the expression on the face of MSNBC’s Touré Neblett when the son of Martin Luther King Jr. says black people should engage with the Tea Party.

King appeared Friday on MSNBC’s “The Cycle,” on location in Atlanta as part of the liberal network’s “Growing Hope” series. Co-host Toure asked the civil rights heir if he thinks “the modern Democratic Party does enough to earn the overwhelming support that it gets for black people? Is it taking black people for granted in a way?”
King largely agreed with Toure’s point, but wanted to stress that African Americans “are not a monolithic people.”
“While I happen to be a Democrat, I think it’s important for African-Americans to be Republicans,” he explained. “I think it’s important for African-Americans to be independent. Uh, I’ll say this kinda — I also think it’s important to be engaged with the tea party.”
Toure was flabbergasted. “Wh — why would it be important for us to be engaged with the tea party?” he asked incredulously, as the live audience snickered.

Ummm, because the TEA Parties support public policies that would be of genuine benefit to black people?
He’s a Democrat. I’m quite certain that when he says “engage” he means either “corrupt from within”, as the left has done so often with organizations like the Ford Foundation, or “join and run a false flag operation to discredit them”. Tea partiers will be so eager to accept blacks they won’t be properly suspicious of a sudden large influx of them.
MLK III has seen the character of the Democrats (Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Jr, etc.) and the character of the Tea Party (Dr. Ben Carson & Col. Allen West, etc.).
Toure has only seen the black & white talking points ‘handed’ to him preshow from the BLACK Caucus.
My TP group is 10% black, lol.
You might want to figure out a different acronym for Tea Party. Remember the Dem base includes the Bevis and Butthead fans(aka permanent 11 year olds).
I’m not surprised that Toure was confused, shoelaces confuse him.
MLK, why does he vote Democrat? Does he understand why his father was a Republican?
No. He votes Dem because Queen Coretta told him to.
They’ve still swallowed the Kool-Aid about the Tea Party being racist.
