I have a 93 Dodge with as Cummins diesel. The exhaust is on the right rear, about the height of a car window. I was in the town over from here and some of our more “eco” minded neighbors went past me and indicated that they were “number 1”. Something must have been wrong with their “pointer” fingers as they were using the one next to that.
They passed on by so that I was able to see all the stickers on the back of their ancient Volvo wagon. They were “green”, hated Bush, were patriotic dissenters…yiou get the deal.
They had to stop at the light ahead and I was plodding along like the tortoise. I approached the stopped traffic as the light turned green and was able to keep going without braking. I mashed the pedal and the black smoke filled the car. I could see them in the mirror still sitting in the same spot.
Just for the record, I kind of felt bad about that. Just “kind of” though.
I’m a diehard conservative. With a 36 mile one way commute. I drive a Prius.
More Prius owners, by survey, are conservative then liberal.
Judging by bumper sticker philosophy, the opposite is true of SUV drivers. And you’ll rarely see bumper stickers on a Prius owned by a conservative. No need to invite the mindless to key our cars.
” No need to invite the mindless to key our cars.”
I dare you to key my car. I triple dog dare you! That is where the right and left split……we on the right work hard for and respect property…..the liberal not so much. That is why they must destroy, they don’t have the wherewithall to produce!
I’d love…..no, I PRAY that I catch some little pos keying my car. That would be their last act!
I would never key a car, although I’ve had mine keyed by “people of tolerance” before.
Right before the 2012 election I passed a parked Prius in our small town and noticed what I thought was a Newsbusters – I don’t believe the liberal media sticker. I had to go back to make sure, and it was.
The owner also had a “Village Idiots For Obama” sticker. If you search way back on this website, under the Bumper Sticker tag, you’ll see where I sent it in.
My commute isn’t quite as long (27 miles one way) but I drive a Prius as well.
What’s not to like from a conservative perspective? I regularly get gas mileage in the low 50s. It has been a perfectly reliable car. It has more electronic gadgets (that work!) than Darth Vader’s bathroom. It has a roomy back seat for passengers, legroom for the 6’+ people on my team, fold down seats in case I need to transport something large-ish. I’m just commuting to work & back, I don’t need a pickup truck or an SUV. It’s quiet, reliable & efficient. None of the domestic manufacturers can match it (I know, I’ve looked) What’s not to like?
I suspect Prius owners get a bad rap, much like gun owners. Gun owners are not toothless rednecks wearing camouflage to Walmart (well, not the majority of them) and Prius owners aren’t hair-shirt wearing hippies. Well, not the majority of them.
I, too, am a Prius owner from the Denver area. My commute of 30 miles takes me into the People’s Republic of Boulder. I have two stickers: one the wife’s and one mine…my wife’s sticker states: Coexist. My bumper sticker identifies my membership in the Rocky Mountain Gun Owners group.
Needless to say (but I’ll say it anyway), I get a large number of people to pull up behind me and either smile and laugh, or scowl from their liberal-mobile (usually a Volvo, Minicooper, or another Prius covered in liberal douchery)…and Saturday was the GOP State Convention–held in Boulder this year. There were literally hundreds of RMGO bumper stickers in Boulder and I didn’t stand out in that crowd…other than I was the only one with a Coexist bumper sticker.
When asked, I just point out that I can coexist with anyone as long as they don’t mess with my guns…and I’ve not been keyed yet…though my previous car with an NRA and NObama sticker did. Liberals are as tolerant as Joffrey Lannister in Game of Thrones.
True, not every person who drives a Prius is a self-righteous, prog douche-bag. I’ve also heard that sometimes conservative people ride Segways while wearing crocs, in a cardigan sweater with a blinking blue-tooth thing in their ear. Just sayin’

You’re a giver Phil.
What is the top word? Can’t read it.
I believe it is “Prius”.
Ah. Thanks.
Best 4×4 truck bumper sticker I’ve ever seen was:
“Thanks for driving a Prius, I need your gas !”

Do you realize you just gave yourself a guilty verdict if that ever happens, even if you had reason to claim self-defense?
The only person I know who owns a Prius is my very conservative, Tea Party member brother-in-law.

Prius is a good dependable car. Isn’t that what cars are supposed to be?
If it is meant to say Prius then -2 for spelling.
Ah nvm darn the glare!
