This is the latest in a series on the use of the race card for political gain:
Tonight is the first Saturday Night Card Game Readers’ Choice Award, you choose the person who played the race card the best (or should it be “worst”?) this week.
The nominees are:
1. Morgan Freeman, for his performance on the Piers Morgan show, where he delivered the following lines with a straight face:
“The tea partiers who are controlling the Republican party … their stated policy, publicly stated, is to do whatever it takes to see to it that Obama only serves one term. What underlines that? Screw the country. We’re going to do whatever we can to get this black man out of here.”
2. Jonathan Bryant, the Texas high school government teacher who called local Tea Party leader George Rodriguez a “Nazi” for opposing the Dream Act. (Maybe he just should have said Rodriguez doesn’t “have a heart”)
“So you would have students in this room deported?” asked the teacher.
The panelist replied, “Yes, I would if they were illegal. You bet.”
Rodriguez also told the teacher if the person is here illegally, they are breaking the law.
“You know what I would have? I would have you teach more balanced – conservative,” added Rodriguez.
After those remarks is when the teacher made the Nazi comment saying, “You can just say what you are – a Nazi.”
“Yesterday my daughter had a tea party with her little friends and it was so cute. They complained about taxes, called Obama a communist and wondered how the Latina kid got in.”
Poll will be open until 7 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, September 25.
Donations tax deductible
to the full extent allowed by law.

Herman Cain on Morgan Freeman:

It’s obvious there’s an inverse relationship between acting ability and logical thinking.
@LHC: Spot on but the outlier in this race to the bottom is the teacher, that supposed moulder of people. OMG: I forgot he’s a government teacher, that’s the worse kind too.
I could go on and on about teachers!
Just watched the Morgan Freeman clip for the first time … I don’t think he need have any fear of being typecast as being of above-average intelligence. Pathetic, really.
And Jane Lynch … whoever she is … fear not being typecast as being funny, my love … that is a cringe-inducing attempt at humor.
“…the teacher, that supposed moulder of people….”
I couldn’t agree more about the poor children subjected to such leftist dogma and indoctrination, molding them into unthinking, mouldering adult drones. 🙂
It makes me sick every time I hear that Morgan Freeman said the TEA Party is aiming to remove Obama just because of his race. Sen. Majority Leader McConnell said his goal was to make Obama a one term president; that had nothing to do with race! And he is not a TEA Party person!!
Freeman is famous for his 60 minutes interview where he says should be race irrelevant. But I guess it isn’t really how he feels, after all. Disappointing.
Of course, he doesn’t know the facts about the TEA Party, just what the media has said. It’s sad, so sad. I love his performances.
The Emmy host is just a loser, making a dumb joke, so I can’t vote for her. The Left using an international platform to smear the TEA Party (read: average, ordinary Americans of all races, creeds, religions, etc., who are SICK of the spending and debt!)? Who would have seen that coming. Meh.
And the teacher is just another example of the Leftist mentality that permeates the educational system in every state. With exceptions, of course!
Don’t make the (very common) mistake of thinking because he said one thing then and another thing now, he was insincere then. The guy’s not doing well. I’ll take the younger, healthier Freeman over the old, tired, sick Freeman.
He did indeed seem sincere in that segment. For that impressive insight, he deserves at least the benefit of the doubt.
The most accurate and authentic definition of race is
any people united by common history, language, cultural traits, etc.
Skin color is a feature incidental to a natural order. As human technology and mobility increases, this feature is becoming less relevant in nature and society.
The Tea Party opposes progressive involuntary exploitation. Racist!
The Tea Party opposes a progressive consolidation of power by civil servants. Racist!
The Tea Party opposes a selective rule of law. Racist!
The Tea Party opposes denigration of individual dignity. Racist!
The Tea Party, to a large extent, opposes devaluation of human life through the normalization of deviant behaviors, including, but not limited to, abortion. Racist!
“Racist” has become a footnote in their narrative.
As Obama, and others, demonstrate a progressive departure from sound principles, he, and others, should be opposed. It really is that simple. We cannot afford to normalize progressive corruption of individuals and society.
Chris Muir, on the CBC, and I suppose Morgan Freeman

I expect actors to be incoherent idiots so I voted for the teacher who has the gall to indoctrinate kids using taxpayer money. This is just one more reason to take your kids out of public school.
I can’t vote for all three? How about if I vote “early and often”. But I think Doug Wright is correct. It HAS to be the teacher.
Once again, I am going to invoke my “Freedom of Spending” and forgo seeing “Dolphin Tales”. Note to Hollywood — perhaps it is time to return to the Golden Years, when the only comment stars made was on topics such as the cigarettes they preferred to smoke. Insulting a large percentage of movie-going American families doesn’t effect the bottom line in a positive way.
Oh brother, another “don’t have a heart” crack? One less blog in my bookmarks.
Ah, Freeman. That whole “god” thing went to his head. And his little head, too. Seems he’s been boinking his first wife’s granddaughter since she was 17 (she’s now 27.) And maybe before. Mrs. Freeman kicked him to the curb.
I would want Obama to be a one term president whatever his color. These jackasses just do not understand what is going on. Besides, when did an actor ever have an original thought. All they can do is recite lines that someone else wrote for them. As far as the teacher goes, he is just another union hanger on who probably can’t teach.
“…when did an actor ever have an original thought….”
Err, Ronald Reagan? 😉
To my shame, I used to be a liberal (when I was young, ignorant, and foolish) and didn’t recognize or appreciate the greatness of Reagan. I thought of Reagan as you described Morgan Freedman. How could an actor, a B actor! be any good at leading this country?! I have learned so much since then, thankfully!
Actors are not all empty-headed, but the most loud-mouthed sure seem to be. And they get our attention – and the MSM’s as well.
Gee, imagine that?! Duh, winning! /sarc
You are correct. And John Voight, also. And then there is …? Sean Penn, Alec Baldwin, Jeanine Garofolo, Rosie O’Donnell, Susan Sarandon, Michael Moore [not technically an actor, but you get the picture, no pun intended], Natalie Portman, Robert Redford, Matt Damon and the others who appear on that late night show with the gap toothed host whose name I have forgotten.
Bottom line: who cares what they say or think?
“We’re going to do whatever we can to get this
blackman out of here.”The word “black” in this sentence is unnecessary.
I had to vote for the teacher. What Morgan Freeman thinks or says is mostly inconsequential in the big scheme of things. What a high school teacher thinks and is therefore transferring to his students most likely, is critical….please go out and volunteer at your local schools and make a difference! And Jane Lynch’s attempt at humor was ridiculous!
Freeman’s down with the struggle except when he isn’t Driving Miss Daisy to his house for a late night Tea Party.

I say we give Morgan Freeman a bit of a break here. He’s old, he’s sick, and if he doesn’t say that, he’d lose all his friends. Yes, he’s marinated so long in a pathological subculture so maybe he even believes it. Maybe he’s losing his grip on when he’s acting and when he’s not. Maybe he doesn’t have the courage these days to say what he really thinks. Maybe – almost certainly – he’s ignorant about the Tea party.
Yeah, he’s wrong and while I don’t mind pointing that out, I don’t have the heart to pick on him too much.
I say we give Morgan Freeman a bit of a break here.
Not a chance.
People who publicly call me a racist get no breaks from me.
“I want you to get in their face.” — Barack Obama
The high school teacher’s principal said he was not going to discipline him because “he is a good teacher” and he realizes he did wrong. “…he is a good teacher” means the primcipal thinks the same way.
primcipal = principal.
I like it the first way better.
I hate hating Morgan Freeman. He always seemed so warm and compassionate, I really did not think he had this kind of bitterness inside of him.
These racist flinging people probably think that the tea party supports Herman Cain because he is black. I hate to tell them, that is the only reason Obama has support, that and the average intelligence in this country is not very high. Herman Cain’s biggest problem might be that he is too smart to be president. The left just can’t comprehend that there really are intelligent black people that base their ideology on rational analytical thought rather than bleeding hearts, bitterness, and class warfare.
More slander against tea party philosophy. Hey Morgan, Do you not recall the effort by Democrats in 2004 to make Bush a one-term president?d And, was all that unfounded unbridled unrelenting hate and vitriol directed at Bush and Cheney by the left because they are white? Dang, I liked Morgan Freeman too.
Another illusion shot to sh. I’ve really admired Morgan Freeman as an actor and thought he was an intelligent guy.
I have been disappointed by many of the Black men I respected. It turns out they are racist. Opposition to a black leader is seen as opposition to blacks as a group rather than that person’s ideas or character. Racism “Whites are causing problems” is rampant among the Black community (eg NAAACP, Black Panthers, Black Causcus) and is not recognized as such.
Once I would have supported Colin Powell for President had he chosen to enter the race; Now I suspect that Obama’s race might have been a factor in his decision to endorse Obama. Mr. Freeman had my respect until now; I had thought him a bit more thoughtful and perceptive than he appears to be here.
I am disappointed that race is even thought to play a role let alone constantly harping on it when it should be fairly obvious that it is irrelevant to the issues at hand.
Okay, I know I’m veering off topic… “Herman Cain handily wins Florida GOP straw poll” — and check out the videos too: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2011/09/herman-cain-wins-florida-straw-poll-rick-perry-romney-.html

Freeman’s incestuous affair: He’s just another H’wood pervert and narcissist.
The teacher has a point
lynch’s ribbing of the tea party was, after all, just a joke.
the ‘teacher’ and freeman were serious.
