Left El Paso at 9pm last night, still have a couple more hours before we get to College Station.

I made that trip a few weeks back, headed to Austin. Beautiful around Fredricksberg this time of year.

Back a few years ago OK, several, Geesh. Hadn’t been further West then/than (pick one) the Florida Panhandle.
Soooo decided to do some travlin’ along Interstate 10. Entering Texas, welcome sign of course, first rest stop coming up and THEN, THE SIGN. As I recall is stated: El Paso 890 miles.
Spit out my beer, I did. Rest stop came in handy for a couple of reasons. 1. The obvious 2. Clean the inside of the vehicle..all that damn beer.
As I recall, the first mile marker along westbound I-10 in Texas is 895. So 890 at the first rest stop would be about right.
I just checked Google Maps, and the last one eastbound is 890.

AgyeeAgyyAiggeAygieAgyeye… Aggie (my wife just walked in) educayshun is showing. 😆When you cross the Sabine on Interstate 10, the mile markers start over at 1. I don’t recall when they start over again, but when you cross the border at Anthony NM, they’ve long since changed to the southbound distances to designate the exits. However, from Orange, TX that sits right on the Sabine, to Anthony is 882-miles, right down I-10. It’s a long, long, long ride, especially when you cross the 100th meridian, heading west.
This weekend is their sesquicentennial celebration. For a little town they always throw a pretty good party. You don’t want to miss it.

Actually, for a Christian to hate anyone is to negate their own claimed worldview, but I totally agree with your sentiment. God’s promises are without repentance – and I find myself smiling and very very thankful.
It’s funny that we Bubbas out here in Fly-over Nation seem to “get it” where the special relationship between America and Israel is concerned.

I’ve noticed that too…Why is that? Perhaps it’s the water and air we get, but thank God I don’t live on either coast any longer. Some of the craziness that comes from the coasts just boggles my mind!
Glad to see the neighbors to the north so well represented. The Hill Country is full of people who stand with Israel.
