Columnist Invokes Emmitt Till Murder to Attack Caitlin Clark
You know, just when I thought leftists couldn’t sink any lower, they do.
In her latest USA Today column, Nancy Armour compared WNBA star Caitlin Clark’s supposed “flopping” to racism, even invoking the murder of Emmitt Till.
Till, a 14-year-old from Chicago, was lynched in Money, Mississippi, on August 28, 1955, for supposedly assaulting Carolyn Bryant, a white woman.
Bryant claimed Till “grabbed her, made lewd advances and wolf-whistled at her as he sauntered out.” Her husband and his brother hunted down Till:
His assailants—the white woman’s husband and his brother—made Emmett carry a 75-pound cotton gin fan to the bank of the Tallahatchie River and ordered him to take off his clothes. The two men then beat him nearly to death, gouged out his eye, shot him in the head and then threw his body, tied to the cotton gin fan with barbed wire, into the river.
An all-white jury acquitted Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam. Both men confessed to the crime to Look magazine after their acquittals.
Horrific. Absolutely horrific.
Tim Tyson wrote in his book The Blood of Emmitt Till that Bryant “recanted her testimony, admitting that Till had never touched, threatened, or harassed her.”
Bryant denied she ever recanted her testimony to Tyson.
In Armour’s mind, the situation with Clark mirrors Till:
It seems there is a white nationalist faction to Clark’s fandom that is deeply, deeply problematic, made even more so because the WNBA is made up predominantly of Black women, many of them queer. When Clark claims fouls that don’t exist, when she goes on profanity-laced tirades at referees, those racists see her as a white woman in need of saving and take matters into their own hands.
DEFINITELY was not expecting this paragraph in the story based on this tweet about Caitlin Clark and foul/non-foul calls. https://t.co/O4JiMH5NdR pic.twitter.com/dYax9fHYXg

So, yeah, Clark’s anger about the non-called fouls is responsible for the few stupid people who apparently threatened at least two of the players who knocked her around.
Except, you know, Clark doesn’t flop or exaggerate the hits she endures. Let’s not forget the throat punch.
You want flopping? Watch soccer.
Armour admitted she made an “inartful comparison” in her column and “did not provide enough context for that.”
No, Armour didn’t apologize. The “apology” is more of an “I cannot believe I have to provide context for you pleebs” and “how dare you only concentrate on that part of my super duper point!” Not kidding:
However, this point stands: There is a history in this country of perceived threats to white women being weaponized against African-Americans, and the danger that poses to Black players in the league.
Players have been abused online and have reported receiving death threats. That has to be taken more seriously.
I sincerely regret that my lack of appropriate context is overshadowing that important conversation and the action that needs to be taken by the WNBA to address it directly – for the benefit of ALL players.
You can’t “my bad” comparing Katlin Clark to the killers of Emmitt Till you stupid bitch. pic.twitter.com/gKpDCD8b89

The mentally ill walk among us, and many are so called “journalists”.
Almost always white, female journalists.
Suicidal Empathy.
You cannot bully them enough.
I guess the WNBA is meant to for blacks only, no whites allowed.
There is a pecking order:
Wonderful – black lesbians
Great – black
Very good – white lesbians
Awful – Caitlin Clark
Sophie Cunningham should be included on your awful list.
Is that not true of all basketball?
“Tim Tyson wrote in his book The Blood of Emmitt Till that Bryant “recanted her testimony, admitting that Till had never touched, threatened, or harassed her.” Tyson had two tapes and their transcriptions but would only provide one set and not both to the DOJ. Till was murdered…. no question…but interesting family history. (Tills dad his dad was hanged for rape by US military in Italy.)
Bryant never recanted. Tyson’s tapes did not include any evidence of it being recanted.
I’m not saying do it but there would be some poetic justice in her now receiving death threats. Regardless of if she actually does I am sure she will claim she did.
Yes. Seems an easy path to victimhood these days is to do something worthy of scorn.
Death threats? Hell, I was a white nobody in a major corporation with a public-facing job, and I got death threats. I can’t imagine how many a real celebrity gets in a week.
Clearly, there is room to up my game.
Sick. Extremely. The Till family must be ecstatic. A firing offense for her and her editor for spreading poison.
Let’s call Nancy Armour for what she is: A stupid white entitled elitist *unt bound and determined to defend and uplift a bunch of angry black thuggish unskilled lesbians from one small thin normal skilled white heterosexual girl who outshines them on the basketball court,
Clark should leave the WNBA so that they can fail and take her game to Europe where her play will be appreciated,
Yep, she absolutely needs to put the WNBA in the rear view mirror. I wonder what the betting sites would have as over/under for how long that fake league would last.
They are and have been propped up by the NBA since they have existed. They would have gone under if it wasn’t for the largesse of the men.
To show how stupid the women of the WNBA they keep demanded more money even though the wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for the NBA. Furthermore their recent popular is only due to Caitlin Clark but they would rather kill the golden goose then protect her. Show’s the stupidity, jealousness, and thugness of black women.
So sick of ALL the drama around the WNBA.
I really don’t care about players being mistreated by other players or officials, about hissy fits over feeling slighted, or any other BS.
The same goes for the NBA.
It’s all crap.
It’s like professional wrestling, but with a ball added.
Armour admitted she made an “inartful comparison” in her column and “did not provide enough context for that.”
Inartful comparison. 🤡
Yeah, how about inane analogy. What a putz.
Followed by an inartful excuse.
Those poor black thugs. They get no respect from fans for beating on whitey.
Throughout the Caitlin Clark saga of ‘initiation’ into the league with hard fouls I keep hearing Don Imus comments that got him fired 20 years ago.
It’s obvious Clark is being targeted. IMO it’s more about jealousy for her fan appeal/endorsement deals/media …or at least it probably was in year one. Now though? Seems like a coordinated effort across the WNBA to take hard shots at the ‘great white hope’. It would be interesting to see an analysis of fouls by team, by player, by ‘race’, how many times deliberate could were called or disputed as no calls in the pre/post Clark era, in games with Clark and games without Clark.
These people are truly unhinged.
Never forget that the people who cry the loudest about the dangers of totalitarianism are the very same people happy to have you killed because you don’t agree with their political views.
They just hate white people and believe their suffering is justice. Sorry.
Maybe AAG Harmeet Dillon maybe needs to investigate the WNBA for civil rights violations. They are fostering and encouraging an ongoing atmosphere of hate against a white woman. From the commissioner on down to the coaches. They have singled out a white woman and encourage violence against her. If the DOJ is going to investigate the MLB over religious actions vis a vis pride night, it would seem that this situation demands a deep dive from the DOJ.
The WNBA ( I have a subscription) is a trash league that is mostly unwatchable with the exception of a handful of amazing players such as Clark. They could have transformed league by making her the face of everything but instead they have chosen to target her making her a scapegoat for their failures. If Clark were smart she would leave that titanic and go play in Europe. It would be a good lesson for the disgusting shit show league that is the WNBA and better for her career.
Initially I misread that as communist instead of columnist. Then I realized my version was more correct
Um…..I thought this was a game.
Ready?
“It’s ALL fun and games till somebody loses an eye!”
Once folks are getting paid its no longer a meaningless game but has become about earning/performance to put food on the table and/or eliminate/sabotage others to take their share away for yourself.
For those in the Democrat party that are itching to start a race war, this is a good run up to it.
DSA
That too.
However, this point stands: There is a history in this country of perceived threats to white women being weaponized against African-Americans, and the danger that poses to Black players in the league.

bullshit–agree with above poster about this ” article ” being a firing offense
zero editorial oversight as well–wonder what the ” editor ” actually does for the outlet ?–wonder if the ceo is comfortable paying these people for whatever ” services ” ( editor / ” writers ” ) they allegedly provide ?
Now do Messi. He whines more than any WNBA player.
Basketball is black’s only claim to fame and so they defend their turf.
Hmm. Does that sound racist?
Invited by a white man though. Actually the true sport of basketball has been warped into something semi-unrecognizable by black players. It’s not the game it used to be.
I’m on the Caitlin Clark/Indiana Fever bandwagon. I watch more WNBA than any other sport right now, never thought I say that. The WNBA’s handling of Clark has been awful but I have to say she does flop. It’s what most great players do to try to get calls. I don’t like it but it’s very common. Clark also has bad body language. That doesn’t excuse the hatred she receives but it explains some of it.
She’s probably not the best player in the league, but when healthy, Clark is definitely an MVP candidate. Her popularity has benefited the league so much you’d think the commissioner/other executives what have figured out how to minimize the mistreatment she receives by now.
At worst, she’s a novelty act who came to public attention because she’s unusual; a lone Labrador Retriever among all the dark and dangerous jungle cats.
However, I honestly think that she is not an attention seeker, and doesn’t really need or even want to be THE STAR. She’s a tall, homely girl who has only one place where she is good at what she does, and she loves doing that thing. She is not doing it for others – she’s doing it because she loves the feel of being on the floor, shooting the ball and watching it go in.
I am honestly positive that she wishes the other players were better than her, so she could just be a nobody on the team, just doing her part.
Puting aside all of the sports angle to this story and focusing on the sports writer of USA Today, can there be a more idiotic response to a nothingburger? To equate CC’s fans to the Klan and a lynching is so off the wall as to be insane! Why not compare CC to Lizzie Borden? If there is one responsible person at the USAToday, fire her ass!
Ms. Armour appears to demonstrate the core qualities necessary to get elected to high public office in RI.
A contestant in the white liberal contest to publish the most anti-white, anti-American comment of the week. She adores the conversation she evoked, like a clown at the circus who prances about and claps for himself. It made this otherwise unknown writer famous for a day. And like the clown, she will search for another flash of attention over and over again until she self-destructs.
Then why waste time at USA Today? That’s what OnlyFans is for.
