Iran Boasts U.S. ‘Forced’ Into Deal, Expects $24 Billion Asset Release During Talks
According to Iran’s regime-run Mehr News, the agreement “provides for the release of $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets during the 60-day talks.”
After nearly ten weeks of negotiations, the U.S. and Iran have finally reached an agreement to end the conflict. “The Deal with Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all!” President Donald Trump announced Monday morning.

While the precise terms of the tentative agreement have not been made public, reports indicate that it would extend the current ceasefire and reopen the Strait of Hormuz to international transit. The so-called “memorandum of understanding” is expected to be signed between the U.S. and Iran on Friday in Switzerland. According to official Iranian sources, a final deal will be reached during a 60-day ceasefire.
“The United States and Iran reached an initial agreement early Monday to open the Strait of Hormuz and further extend a shaky ceasefire in the Iran war,” the Associated Press reported. “Details of the deal were not immediately released and Iran signaled implementation would not start until the signing, which key mediator Pakistan said would occur Friday in Switzerland.”
The U.S. and Iran are expected to sign a “memorandum of understanding” in Switzerland this Friday, with official Iranian sources stating that a final deal will be reached within the next 60 days. Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) confirmed Tehran had agreed to the final wording of the memorandum of understanding with the US,” The Telegraph (UK) reported. “Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s deputy foreign minister, said a more expansive agreement would be negotiated during a 60-day ceasefire.”
Initial reports suggest that Iran will not be required to surrender its weapons-grade uranium, but will instead be trusted to dilute it under international monitoring — a system that has already failed miserably. “The sides have given themselves 60 days to reach a technical agreement on how to down-blend Iran’s highly enriched uranium and both freeze and monitor its nuclear program going forward,” Axios reported.
Iran, the biggest state sponsor of terrorism, will reportedly receive sanctions relief and access to frozen assets in return for its “cooperation” on the nuclear issue. “The U.S. side insists Iran is incentivized to reach a final agreement because sanctions relief and access to frozen funds depend on progress on the nuclear front,” the news website added.

Iranian regime media claim deal set to unfreeze $24 billion, end IDF operation against Hezbollah
According to Iranian state media, the agreement allegedly unblocks billions in frozen assets in the short term and ends the Israeli military actions against Hezbollah in Lebanon. “Iran’s state-affiliated Mehr News on Sunday published what it described as details of a 14-point draft memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington, provides for the release of $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets during the 60-day talks,” the exiled Iranian news website Iran International reported. “According to Mehr, the draft begins with an immediate and permanent end to military operations across all fronts, including Lebanon, alongside a US commitment not to interfere in Iran’s internal affairs and to respect the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic.”
Israel: Deal rejected across the political spectrum
The first official Israeli response came from Defense Minister Israel Katz. Faced with the threat from Iranian proxy terrorist group, Israel will retain forward defense positions build along the border with Syria and Lebanon, he assured.
The Israeli military “will remain in the security zones in Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza — without any time limit — in order to protect Israel’s borders and communities from jihadist elements,” Israeli Defense Minister said.

Prime Minister Netanyahu reportedly told President Trump that Israel retains the right to defend its troops and civilians against Hezbollah attacks. According to Israel’s Ynetnews, “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told U.S. President Donald Trump that Israel does not consider itself bound by the Lebanon clause in the emerging agreement with Iran, Israeli officials said, making clear that Jerusalem will not accept any arrangement that limits its freedom to act against Hezbollah.”
The current framework of the deal drew broad rejection across the Israeli political spectrum. “The US-Iran agreement announced Sunday night has sparked a wave of sharp criticism from both the Israeli opposition and coalition hardliners, with figures across the political spectrum condemning the deal as a blow to Israeli security interests while differing sharply on who bears responsibility,” Israel’s i24NEWS reported.
US ‘forced’ to sign the deal, Tehran claims
Iranian state media framed the outcome as a great victory for Tehran and terrorist proxies, claiming that the U.S. was “forced” to sign the deal.
“The United States was forced to sign a memorandum to end the war with the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Resistance Front. Shehbaz Sharif announced the permanent and immediate end of the war on all fronts of the U.S. war against Iran and its allies,” the regime-run TV channel IRINN announced Monday morning.
Europe, China ‘welcome’ the deal
Western leaders, largely opposed to the U.S. military intervention, welcomed the agreement. China, Iran’s key ally, also lauded the deal. “World leaders have welcomed news of a peace deal that would reopen the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping,” Germany’s state-run DW TV observed.
“Iran must never acquire a nuclear weapon. We stand ready to work with the U.S., Iran and the IAEA to this end,” Germany, France, Italy and the UK said in a joint statement. It is worth noting that most of these countries openly opposed the U.S. military operation, with Germany and the UK declaring that it was “not their war.”
Market rally, oil price drop after deal announced
The global oil price dropped, and the market rallied following news of the deal. “Oil prices have fallen and shares risen after the US and Iran said they had agreed a framework deal to end the war,” the BBC reported.
The British broadcaster continued:
Asian stock markets surged on Monday as investors welcomed the framework deal. Japan’s Nikkei 225 share index closed 5% higher, while the Kospi in South Korea ended up 5.2%.
The region was hit particularly hard by higher energy prices as it is heavily reliant on the Middle East for its oil and LNG supplies.
In Europe, both Germany’s Dax and France’s Cac 40 indexes were up by about 1.7% and in London the FTSE 100 rose 0.6%.

Israel has to pick up the ball for us. How embarrassing. We should be their support but they seem to be the only ones who appreciate how raw a deal it actually is.
This is a fight for their survival. We should treat it as such
You have no clue as to the actual terms and conditions of this understanding Ricky. You think you’ve found an issue to attack President Trump and you’ve seized on it with criticisms based on ignorance and TDS. Iran has been significantly degraded both militarily and economically, no longer a a nuclear threat for years or ever. That’s the difference between Obama and President Trump. And if Iran tries to play games in the future I suspect they’ll regret it.
If we are lifting the blockade then it’s likely true; each very large crude carrier is worth hundreds of millions.
It begins.
It begins or it ends?
And so it begins . . . a deal most likely worse than Obama’s Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars wasted all for nothing except now Trump gets to boost of being the Great Peacemaker in the Middle East. Too bad it won’t be long before Iran starts to pull its usual shenanigans once again despite any agreements they’ve made with the Trump administration and we’ll have to do it all over again, or not.
I suspect the WH and State Dept are all too aware of these Shia clowns and their m/o. Many miles to go before we sleep. There are Mossad trained Iranians in country who are doing their work or are waiting to do their work when activated.
Not the state dept. Permanent stupidity there.
Rubio is no fool.
Rubio is the Sec of State not the state dept. He is a political appointment and you’re right he is no fool. I’m a big Rubio supporter.
The state department is the entrenched bureaucracy. It’s called foggy bottom for a reason. Littered with the whelp of the ivy leagues. Most are globalists who view themselves as the elite. Blech.
To Whitewall, above — Rubio definitely is no fool, but, he’s also not POTUS, and he has to follow #47’s orders, in foreign policy. I suspect that he is not happy with this worthless and unenforceable “deal” with the greasy, duplicitous, mendacious and evil Iranian Islamofascist/terrorist regime, even as he is charged with effecting its negotiation and terms.
BS. The Iranians would have loved to have pallets of cash flow in like Obama gave them. Not to mention having approval to spin up unlimited numbers of centrifuges to purify enriched uranium.
Obama gave them the money to purchase uranium from the Russians, that Hillary sold them.
Since you basically parrot Ricky (an alias?) above like a TDS deranged parakeet (and I apologize for offending parakeets), I”ll just repost the above comment here: You have no clue as to the actual terms and conditions of this understanding. Iran has been significantly degraded both militarily and economically, no longer a a nuclear threat for years or ever. That’s the difference between Obama and President Trump. (Only the Left isn’t funny)
“The United States was forced to sign a memorandum to end the war with the Islamic Republic of Iran…”
Someone let the Iranians know that Monty Python already did this comic sketch fifty years ago. What are they going to do the next time? Demand Trump bring them a shrubbery? The Iranian military certainly has all the prowess of coconuts being used to mimic horses.
I am glad that Trump expended the considerable political capital necessary to neuter a diabolically evil terrorist state but I am doubly glad that this (appears to be) over prior to the midterms.
The Neocons are upset that we aren’t continuing to bomb Iran and entering into a boondoggle in Lebanon.
The Democrats are beside themselves as the Iranian leadership has been decimated their nuclear program bombed into dust and their ballistic missile stocks and production mostly destroyed.
Any achievements by this administration or American military will continue to be opposed by the die hard never Trump fanatic’s
The beginning of the end? Friday is a long way off.
As I posted elsewhere last night:
This agreement will be published on toilet paper. The Iranians will sign it with their left hands.
Question:
Is it in Iran’s best interests that The Donald be faced with an oppositional Congress in his last two years?

One of my all time favorite movies.
On the down side, the Mullahs and IRGC know America’s weakness and it ain’t our military, it is we the voters.
Democrats, they gave our enemy reason for hope thru this whole ordeal.
That’s always been the case. Even during WW2 the politicians had some concern about the willingness of Americans to stay the course once the death count among the troops mounted.
One of the reasons for the heavy censorship.
Happened in WW1 too, the censorship. We all know what happened with Vietnam. The media lost the US the war. The politicians didn’t help either. Bunch of tools.
And they know they can depend on the communist/moslem media in the US to echo communist/DNC propaganda.
This might seem like an eon, but after Nov, he can go back to blowing their butts to kingdom come.
Let the mice play until then.
I suspect Vance and his cabal have their hands all over this.
Oh, A Vance simp. How about posting a counterpoint instead of down clicking. That is if you are capable of doing so,
It looks like Trump pulled a Netanyahu.
The main difference is Netanyahu pulling a Netanyahu means there is a very strong chance Israel will cease to exist in the near future, while Trump doing it makes Americans less safe but ultimately we will survive it.
Embracing Islamic Republic pronouncements is a death wish.
“digitally signed yesterday by President Trump, Vice President Vance, and Iranian regime representatives.”

‘what is that?’
When I was twelve, it strained my suspension of disbelief that despite three years of experience, Oliver could never avoid being rooked by Mr. Haney. So unrealistic!
I guess I could be allowed some naivety at twelve.
A man trusted by the Hoyt-Clagwell Tractor Company to represent them is not to be sneezed at.
Good — the Israelis’ position is an expression of basic sovereignty and common sense, in the face of persistent and incessant attacks on its soil and citizens, by Hezb’allah’s Islamofascist/Muslim terrorist thugs.
No self-respecting country on Earth would tolerate such attacks and agree to limit and constrain its response to them, because of an ally’s worthless “deal” with the terrorists’ sponsor-state.
I may be completely wrong but I suspect we may have cut a deal with China and other countries to reopen the strait and get the oil flowing with the guarantee they will not sell weapons or enrichment equipment to Iran.
Kind of late for that. Iran just had a summit with Russia and China,
Evil continues until it is stopped.
We have not stopped it today.
What did 60 Minutes say?
Sadly, #47 is kicking the can down the road, here. He deserves massive credit for initiating long overdue reprisals against the Iranian regime, but, his desire not to roil the stock and oil markets has prevented a better outcome.
Iran is now going to be Vance’s or Rubio’s problem; whoever is next GOP POTUS. The next Dhimmi-crat POTUS will clearly — per Dhimmi-crat ideology and custom — do everything in his/her power to ensure that Iran develops nuclear weapons.
Sadly, #47 is kicking the can down the road,
At least he kicked it. Obama walked around it without touching it and Biden said, “Where’s the can, man?”
No doubt. #47 on his worst day is still light years better than any Dhimmi-crat president. That said, the situation is still disappointing, because there was a potentially better outcome to be gained, here.
The worst part of this is allowing Iran to draw the Lebanon front into the “deal.”This protects its proxy Hezbollah and will be a continuing wedge between Israel and the U.S. Iran will use Israel’s self-defense as an excuse not to comply, just as it did in refusing to sign the MOU. Trump appears to have been played and looks foolish.
Maybe the chosenites missed the fsct they have no military to force anything.
I’m always amazed at the “patriots” who will believe Iran as long as it feeds their TDS. For an accurate take on what’s been achieved, this article is good.

The “Great Deal!” is political theater all around. We have done serious damage. Now it’s time to disengage long enough to let the Iranian people finish the job.
Dean, the Iranian people can not change anything. They cannot finish the job. The regime killed 40,000 unarmed protestors, was over a weekend. The people have nothing more than sticks and stone to resist machine guns. They were hoping Trump would free them. Obviously that is not going to happen. We are about to give Iran pallets of money again. They will rebuild and resupply.. They will again come after the big satan and little satan. Its in their koran, their bible. They have forever to accomplish their goal. Western timelines are today, I want it now. Gas prices have been up for two weeks then overthrow the government. We, our politicians lack the political will to spend the time needed to win. The politicians don’t have time in office to accomplish long term goals. Especially when the next administration will reverse what little they might have accomplished. The Iranian regime has been in place for fifty years and now will continue for maybe fifty more. So don’t expect any real change on their part. Trump tried, but just run out of time.
We can only hope that this is not a 1938 Munich “Peace in our time” deal. But Trump was in a bind; without something to get the price of oil — and more specifically the price at the gas pump — down, he faced the certainty of a Democrat congress and spending the last two years of his term accomplishing nothing and fighting increasingly asinine impeachment attempts.
