Students for Justice in Palestine at CU-Boulder Demands Release of Man Who Firebombed Pro-Israel Event
“Soliman took direct action against one manifestation of the Zionist death cult that we have allowed to fester in our city and our state.”
They’re defending a man who pleaded guilty in a case that killed one person and injured many others.
The College Fix reports:
CU Boulder pro-Palestinian group defends antisemitic firebombing, demands release of culprit
This past week, the University of Colorado Boulder chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine demanded the release of convicted killer Mohamed Soliman … and justified his firebombing of a pro-Israel event a year ago.
Soliman was sentenced last month to “life plus 2,178 years” for attacking a “Run for Their Lives” (an event which supports the release of Israeli hostages by Hamas) last year with a “makeshift flamethrower” at which one victim was killed and over a dozen others burned.
In Jeremiah Wright-style, the CU Boulder SJP described Soliman’s actions as a “case of chickens coming home to roost.”
Soliman took direct action against one manifestation of the Zionist death cult that we have allowed to fester in our city and our state,” the group wrote. “He hurled a molotov cocktail into the heart of the Run for Their Lives march in Boulder, striking against the colonist procession that gathers weekly to celebrate the pretext for ongoing genocide. …
The state would have us believe that Mohamed took the action he did because he is insane—a fanatic, a terrorist, guilty of a hate crime—but we know the truth and we reject the state’s inversion of it. Mohamed chose the only sane response available to a rational human being confronted with the normalization of genocide. He refused the comfortable position of the grateful immigrant and the role of obedient subject, choosing confrontation with a violent system over passive proximity to the comfort of empire. He refused the comfortable position of the grateful immigrant and the role of obedient subject, choosing confrontation with a violent system over passive proximity to the comfort of empire.
We reject the distinction between speech and material force. The Run for Their Lives procession functions as a mechanism for normalizing the celebration of mass killers, rendering ordinary the sight of war criminals treated as heroes on streets that sit upon stolen land. Mohamed refused their normalization with direct action. He chose to treat the manifestation of Zionist violence as the lethal threat it actually constitutes.
At the end of its statement, the SJP also demanded the abolition of ICE, and that supporters “continue the struggle.”

“Students for Justice in Palestine”
Three lies in five words:
1. Most of them are likely not students, but paid agitators
2. Justice is not what they want. They want genocide.
3. There ain’t no such place as “Palestine”.
Students for Violence Against Jews should be declared a terrorist group. This guy didn’t just “firebomb” he murdered an elderly woman and disfigured many others because he is a bigoted asshole who hates Jews. He isn’t even a citizen of the US, but an illegal visa over stayer. The fact we are even giving him due process here in the US is beyond what he deserves. In Egypt, where he is an actual citizen, they would just shoot him with a firing squad or hang him. So the bigoted bastard is lucky he is here, while he destroyed the lives of several actual Americans and again proved that it’s open season on American Jews.
There is no such designation in US law. The only similar designation is a foreign terrorist organization, and this group is not foreign.
Second, even if it were foreign, it has not (as far as anyone knows) engaged in any terrorist activity, so it couldn’t be designated as a foreign terrorist organization. This terrorist they’re supporting had nothing to do with them, and certainly didn’t act at their direction.
Third, everyone under US jurisdiction deserves due process. It doesn’t matter what Egypt would have given him; here in the USA the government cannot impose any criminal penalty on anyone without first giving him due process. If it tries, then the penalty is void. Is that what you want?! To let him off scot free because you can’t bear to give him due process?! Or do you just want the government to turn into a murderer or kidnapper by killing or imprisoning someone illegally?
I didn’t say anything, this is just my opinion. I’m not a lawyer nor do I pretend to be. I do believe this group should be expelled and barded from all college campuses. They are foreign funded, regularly encourage violence, use violence and enact discriminatory policies against Jews while advocating for bigotry. If the ku klux klan can’t have a student group why can these fools, and why do we tolerate it? by the way that’s a rhetorical question.
Who says the KKK can’t have a student group? At a government entity the KKK has to be treated the same as anyone else.
and yet there are none, and none would be approved of on any campus.
There are no KKK groups on campus because the KKK barely exists at all. There are barely any groups anywhere, and on campus there’s no interest. But if such a group were to form the university would not be able to take any action against it or its members. At most it could decline to recognize it as an official student group that receives funding, but it couldn’t prevent it from existing, and it couldn’t expel its members or bar their activities. And there could be no question of somehow “declaring” it to be a “terrorist group”.
Here’s what would actually happen should a KKK group try to get campus approval : mass protests and huge media coverage with endless discussion about racism on a national level. Here’s what actually happens when the students for violence against Jews yet again call for violence against Jews : crickets. They are coddled and their “demands” are discussed with the administration. Again I’m not a lawyer but I see the hypocrisy and choose to call it out. There is no equal application of the law here and no fairness despite both groups endorsing violence and bigotry.
You want there to be mass protests against this SJP group? Go organize them, and convince people to attend. You want media coverage, go persuade some reporters. You want discussion, go start some. None of that has anything to do with the university, which is who you’re demanding do something. The university can’t do the things you want. Anyone is free to do them, and they don’t it’s on them not on the college.
See I live in the world of reality, not just what it says you can and can’t do, and I judge things based on what’s actually happening not the beautiful theory of it all. I don’t work at a college campus but I go to USF all the time. There’s no KKK group on campus but there sure is a SJP group, and the regularly call for violence, harass students, block parts of campus and try to defund the Hillel and Chabad, protest Jewish studies classes, harrss indvidual Jewish students, along w/ vandalizing the buildings of Chabad and Hillel. Sounds a lot like the KKK to me. Yes I do demand that colleges don’t allow in student groups that target members of their own student body with violence, discrmination and bigotry. No I can’t organize a student group at USF as I’m public employee of the school system not the university system. Why don’t you do it at your local school? Maybe try to get a KKK approved and see what happens, after all its allowable. I can and have organized student groups in the public schools however. inclduing an SSI chapter. You claim it’s free speech but admit that there are no KKK student groups, and we all know why. That group will not approved even though “theoretically” it could be. Well I don’t live in the world of theory, and I’m tired of people claiming that’s enough and get over it. Only one hate group is endlessly celebrated on campuses today, and that’s SJP, just like the KKK was back in the 1920’s.
I demand a pony.
Any student that belongs to that group or who signed onto that statement should be immediately expelled.
On what grounds? This is a government entity, so it’s bound by the first amendment. It can’t expel someone merely for expressing a vile opinion, whether it’s that murdering Jews is cool or that black people should be slaves.
