IDF Strikes Hezbollah’s Beirut Stronghold as Terror Group Rejects Ceasefire, Attacks Northern Israel

IDF eliminates Hamas Nukhba commander behind Kissufim massacre during October 7 attack.

Nearly a week after Hezbollah rejected a U.S.-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, the Israeli Air Force struck the terror group’s primary stronghold in Dahiyeh, southern Beirut.

“The Israeli military has struck ‌on Sunday ‘terrorist’ headquarters in the Lebanese capital Beirut’s southern suburbs, a Hezbollah stronghold known as Dahiyeh, in response to the group’s ‌fire toward Israeli territory,” Reuters reported, quoting Israeli officials.

Israeli strikes are in response to Hezbollah’s relentless missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli troops and civilians. The ceasefire agreement would have required the Iranian proxy terrorist group to stop launching attacks.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released a brief statement on Sunday afternoon saying that it “struck a Hezbollah terror infrastructure site in the area of the Dahieh.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed ordering the retaliatory strikes against the Hezbollah stronghold.

Israel scaled down the retaliatory strikes to minimize their impact on the ongoing negotiations between the U.S. and Iran. On June 1, Israel called off the strikes on Beirut following a phone call between President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu.

“This was a low grade attack in Beirut, appearing to try to walk the tightrope between pressuring Hezbollah more, while avoiding antagonizing Iran too much over a more serious attack on its main proxy,” the Jerusalem Post reported. “Washington was reportedly informed ahead of the strikes. The IDF dropped at least 10 one-ton bombs on one command center, with Israeli news outlets reporting that there was at least one other target hit.”

Israel’s Ynetnews reported the details of the airstrike:

For the first time since ceasefire understandings with Lebanon were announced, the IDF struck Hezbollah headquarters in Beirut’s Dahieh district on Sunday, after rocket fire from Lebanon into northern Israel.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said in a joint statement: “In accordance with the directive of Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz, the IDF struck terrorist headquarters in the Dahieh district of Beirut in response to Hezbollah fire toward Israeli territory.”

Israel notified the U.S. administration before carrying out the strike, which Israeli officials said was in line with understandings between Jerusalem and Washington that the IDF would strike Beirut if fire was directed at Israeli communities. The question now is how Iran will respond after it had previously threatened to fire at northern Israel if the IDF struck Dahieh. (…)

As far as is known, the Hezbollah headquarters hit in Beirut was empty, making the operation largely symbolic. The goal was to damage buildings rather than eliminate operatives, against the backdrop of U.S. President Donald Trump’s opposition to an attack that could cause mass casualties.

IDF uncovers massive terror tunnel beneath historic Beaufort castle

The IDF uncovered a massive Hezbollah tunnel network beneath a 12th-century Crusader castle recently taken from Hezbollah’s control in southern Lebanon.

The Hezbollah tunnel network beneath the Beaufort Ridge “was planned and funded by the Iranian terror regime,” the military disclosed.

The IDF revealed the details of the find:

The tunnel network was constructed within a civilian area at a location that provides operational control over the Galilee Panhandle region, only six kilometers from Metula, and served as a central Hezbollah terrorist organization hub in the area.

The network consists of several tunnels built to accommodate hundreds of terrorists simultaneously in multiple rooms prepared for extended stay and terrorist activity, including: living quarters, water and electrical infrastructure, as well as extensive anti-tank and aerial defense capabilities intended to target IDF troops and Israeli civilians.

In one tunnel, approximately one kilometer in length, troops located six underground shafts, a storage room used for weapons, an anti-tank missile launcher, anti-tank missiles, grenades, ammunition, combat equipment, advanced medical equipment, and several living quarters, including shower facilities, restrooms, an operating room, and kitchens.

Iran renews threats against Israel following Beirut strike

Despite Israeli restraint, the Iranian regime renewed its threats after the Hezbollah stronghold was hit, The Times of Israel reports:

A senior Iranian parliament member promises a “painful and decisive response” to Israel’s airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs today.

“We will give a decisive and painful response to the Zionist regime’s attack on the suburbs. This rabid dog must be disciplined and put in its place. Watch the sky of the occupied territories tonight,” Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for parliament’s foreign policy and national security committee, writes on X.

Iran considers all of Israel “occupied territories.”

Iran’s foreign minister last week threatened that any Israeli attack on Beirut would be a violation of the ceasefire with the US and elicit a response from Iran.

IDF eliminates Hamas Nukhba commander behind Kissufim massacre during October 7 attack

Two and a half years after the October 7th attacks, the Israeli military and Shin Bet security agency tracked down. They eliminated the leading terrorist behind the massacre at Kissufim, a Kibbutz in the Negev desert.

“The IDF and Shin Bet eliminated Zakr Abu Karim, a terrorist who was among the leaders of the raid on Kibbutz Kissufim during the October 7 massacre,” Ynetnews reported Sunday. The IDF, in a statement, disclosed that Abu Karim was “among the leaders of the infiltration into the Kisufim area during the October 7th massacre.”

During the attack on Kisufim, Abu Karim-led Nukhba terrorists were involved in killing 45 Israeli civilians and six Thai workers. Citing an IDF report released in May 2025, the Jerusalem Post reported that “battles of both the Kissufim army base and the nearby Kissufim kibbutz” resulted in the murder of “45 mostly Israelis, and some Thai workers.” The newspaper added that this massacre was carried out by “around 150 Hamas Nukhba invaders from two different battalions.”

A bodycam video showed Nukhba terrorists shooting down a lone dog trying to protect his home in Kissufim. The clip further shows them setting the neighborhood on fire.

Since October 7, 2023, the slain terror commander continued plotting and carrying out attacks against Israeli troops. “Throughout the war, Abu Karim advanced and executed attacks against IDF troops operating in the Gaza Strip,” the IDF statement added. “In recent months, he violated the ceasefire agreement, maintained a large cache of weapons in his home, and took part in efforts to rebuild the organization and conduct terrorist training to advance additional terror attacks.

The hatred is too strong and inbred. There is no deal to make. Their entire existence is to eliminate jews and Israel and they won’t stop…ever.

If they ever say they want to make a deal, they’ll be lying.

I’m starting to think genocide may not be such a bad idea after all.

How can Trump keep expecting Israel to just absorb these blows? He should be demanding that Lebanon dismantle the hezi’s.

Standard attitude all POTUS have regarding Israel. “Yes, yes we support you 100%! We do however consider you a vassal state and we can trade your security and lives for our needs even if its for a meaningless ‘deal’ just so we can say ‘we won’ and walk away from something.”

You forgot to add some scaremongering. Next time reference the massive and devastting Iranian “barrage” of 5 to 7 missiles launched at Israel. That Iranian’s stupidly violent outbursts have been relegated to the level of a Houthi strike is really the only thing of note about that.
