Establishment Dems on Edge As Anti-Israel El-Sayed Surge Continues in MI Primary

“There is real concern that Abdul would not be able to beat Rogers and then potentially lose us a majority possibility in the Senate.”

While presumptive Maine Democratic Senate nominee Graham Platner stays mired in scandals of his own making and freaking out establishment party members in the process, another Democratic Senate hopeful has also been causing them nightmares, albeit for different reasons.

Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, a former Wayne County health director and failed 2018 gubernatorial candidate, has no scandalous internet nor toxic relationship history on par with Platner’s, as far as we know, with the only social media scrubbing being thousands of X posts, which included references to his support for defunding the police.

What he does have in common with Platner, however, is something that appears to be increasingly appealing to a substantial number of Michigan Democratic primary voters: a visceral hatred for Israel.

Legal Insurrection first reported on the surge in support for El-Sayed’s campaign, which began in mid-April, as the establishment’s choice, Rep. Haley Stevens, floundered while another candidate, state senator Mallory McMorrow, was making inroads and gaining what her campaign called “McMentum” in the process.

But while McMorrow’s campaign has stalled out amid questions about her commitment to Michigan’s voters and her attempt to straddle the fence on the Israel/Hamas issue, Stevens’ campaign seems to have gotten back on track, with the congresswoman and El-Sayed now trading leads in the most recent polling.

RealClearPolitics polling averages to date show El-Sayed with the clear lead in the primary race, though. And in a potential general election matchup against the Trump-backed presumptive GOP nominee, former Rep. Mike Rogers, El-Sayed slightly trails in the polling averages:

The latest averages in other potential general election matchups show Stevens with less than a one-point lead against Rogers, and Rogers with less than a one-point lead against McMorrow.

El-Sayed lagging behind Rogers in a hypothetical race while surging in primary polling as he continues to bash Israel and break bread with Hasan Piker has got establishment Democrats just about ready to hit the panic button:

His strength in primary polls has triggered backlash and anxiety among some Democrats, who view El-Sayed as a general election liability, too far left for a state that backed Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential race. They cite El-Sayed’s labeling of Israel’s actions in Gaza as a “genocide” and his willingness to campaign alongside controversial figures such as Hasan Piker, the political streamer with a large audience of young men. Piker, who has faced accusations of antisemitism, has called the militant group Hamas better than Israel and questioned whether America “deserved” 9/11.

[…]

Several of Michigan’s most notable Democrats recently jumped off the sidelines to endorse Stevens in an attempt to thwart El-Sayed’s surge, criticizing his record and suggesting he could not beat the presumed Republican nominee, former representative Mike Rogers, in November.

“It’s not just thinking with our hearts but with our heads,” said Debbie Stabenow, a Democrat who represented Michigan in the Senate for 24 years and has endorsed Stevens. “We have to be strategic and purposeful right now.

Lon Johnson, a former chair of the Michigan Democratic Party and Stevens supporter, said, “There is real concern that Abdul would not be able to beat Rogers and then potentially lose us a majority possibility in the Senate.”

The United Auto Workers union, though, doesn’t share the panic. They endorsed El-Sayed earlier this week:

UAW members in Michigan want a fighter in Washington, D.C. who isn’t afraid to push forward a strong working-class agenda with moral clarity. Having never taken a dime from corporate PACs, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed is someone we can trust to have our backs, including when we need it most – like come May Day 2028. From Medicare for All to banning stock buybacks, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed is ready, eager, and well-equipped to move our core issues in the U.S. Senate.

The primary is August 4th, and El-Sayed looks to be in the driver’s seat. We’ll keep you posted on what develops.

The Dhimmi-crat Party’s decades of rabid, dishonest and wicked anti-Israel venom and slanders made it politically and socially acceptable for these Jew-hating and Christian-hating Islamofascist/Muslim supremacist/terrorism-supporting pukes, such as Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Zohran Mamdani, Adam Hamawy, this El-Sayed idiot, and myriad other Islamofascists/Muslim supremacist candidates at the state level, to come out of the woodwork and run for political office, because they saw that their views not only were not considered controversial or electorally radioactive, but were now widely embraced and lauded by the Dhimmi-crat Party, at-large.

And, 33 and 25 years have passed, since the 1993 and 2001 Muslim terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and on the country, which apparently is a sufficient interval of time for the Dhimmi-crats’ wretched base of fanatics to have developed total amnesia regarding Muslim terrorism and Muslims’ pervasive and brazen rhetorical, theological and political support for terrorism — to the extent that Dhimmi-crats ever gave a damn about Muslim terrorism, to begin with.

Because in our HEARTS, we (Democrats) know he’s RIGHT.

Yep. Stabenow is saying the quiet part out loud, the d/prog actually want this nut as a Senator but are worried he’s too whacko for the normies to elect him. If he was running ahead in the (hypothetical general election) polls they wouldn’t be batting an eye. It might be a good idea for the same donors who shoved tens of $ millions to collect Massie’s scalp in his primary to consider ponying up to defeat this nut and Platner in their primaries. I am not at all confident that either would be replaced or swapped out once they win their primary elections.

It’s at least partly a numbers game. Jews make up about 1% of Michigan’s population, and as a group Jews tend to support those who seek to kill them (as long as they have the holy and sacred “D” after their name on the ballot). Muslims are a larger percent of the population than Jews (roughly 2.4%), and are the favored pets of white Communists.

So if you were a Michigan Communist satrap what would you do? Come out against a genocidal Muslim candidate and risk the wrath of a large part of your Party’s base? Or count on the Jews to do what they normally do: stand in solidarity with their would-be murders?

My family is all from Michigan and for the most part reliably voted D. Not as many of us are there now but I’m sure those that are still mostly reliably vote D, It’s shameful and embarrassing.

Oh great look! Another foreigner with a funny sounding name that is Jew hating zealot is making headwinds in Michigan. But good old Milgouse sure must be happy that America keeps sending these foreigners with funny sounding names to Congress! Go on say how much you’re proud this American is about to represent DA JOOS of Michigan, Milhouse!

Again, he is NOT a foreigner. And you are an outright fucking racist.

This guy is a very bad choice for the voters. His politics are all wrong. But he is as American as any other, and his name is just as American as any other. Anyone who would refuse to vote for him, not because of his policies but because of his ethnicity, doesn’t deserve to be allowed to vote.

Donald Trump is also the son and grandson of immigrants, and also has a funny name.

They are worried about losing the election. Not what this man represents in the name of the Democrat party. If this guy and the one up in Maine get elected, the GOP needs to play this like Perlman plays a Stradivarius.
