Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer is Not Running for President in 2028

“I think there will be a robust group of people running for president. I will not be one of them in 2028”

The field of Democrats running for president in 2028 will be massive, but according to Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, she will not be part of that crowd.

This means she won’t have to answer questions about her draconian policies during Covid-19, a thing she has admitted she doesn’t want to do.

Newsmax reports:

Mich. Gov. Whitmer Rules Out 2028 Presidential Bid

Democrat Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan put to rest speculation about a potential 2028 presidential bid, saying Thursday that she will not join what is expected to be a crowded primary field after leaving office at the end of this year.

Whitmer has long been viewed by some Democrats as a possible White House contender after her decisive election victories in the closely contested state that Republican Donald Trump has carried twice in presidential votes. For months, however, Whitmer had offered only cautious answers about her political future.

But she delivered her clearest response yet in an interview Thursday with Fox 2 Detroit.

“I think there will be a robust group of people running for president. I will not be one of them in 2028,” Whitmer said.

Her comments came during Michigan’s annual Mackinac policy conference, where Whitmer is set to be honored and deliver remarks later Thursday.

Whitmer has previously said she plans to take time before deciding on her next move politically.

“I don’t know that I’ll put my name on the ballot again. I’m just not sure,” Whitmer said at an April breakfast in Detroit. “But I also am 54 years old. I got a lot of gas in the tank.”

Watch below:

Naturally, she put an asterisk on this comment later on.

From the Associated Press:

Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan said Thursday she has “nothing to announce” about a possible 2028 presidential bid, stepping back from her comment hours earlier that she will not run for president after leaving office later this year.

“You know, I never thought I would run for governor, so I guess I should know better than to say any of it. Never say never,” Whitmer said when asked later Thursday about the remarks.

“At this juncture, I’ve got nothing to announce,” Whitmer said during an onstage interview following her annual speech at the Mackinac policy conference.

If Whitmer changes her mind and runs, I look forward to revisiting the photo of her trying to hide her face from a photographer during her visit to the Trump White House.

Perhaps the wicked witch of Lansing will angle for the VP slot. That would set her up for a future run at the presidency whether or not the democrats win in 2028.

“I have decided to let some others fight it out for the chance to lose to Rubio-Vance or Vance-Rubio or whomever … and wait until the Republicans are weak and effed up again and then I will run”

First, I challenge Gov. Whitmer on the premise that she is in any way “robust” unless there’s a definition that I’m not aware of that includes megalomania.

Second, who might these politicians of grand robustness be anyway? I cannot imagine that she’s referring to any Republicans. The Democrat field is utterly bereft of any seriousness.

Her promise means 100% nothing.
Democrats will put up who they choose even if nobody votes for them.

Maybe she’s afraid that phony kidnapping plot by the FBI will bite her backside.

But…But…I was all in on Stretchen Gretchen. All. In.

Well I know I’m tore up from the floor up!

She’s worried someone will throw water on her and melt her.

She will need more time to organize another fake kidnapping.

54 years old with a a lot of gas in the tank. I wonder what kind of gas, methane perhaps? Flatulence won’t take her very far. With those credentials she should stay out of the race.

Like Frederica Wilson, she’ll beg off running right up until she files to run,

I’m sure the parasitic braindead demonrats can find an equally creepy thing to take Wretched Gretchen’s place.
