Tucker and Megyn Find an Unlikely New Fan Base: Muslim Audiences

Tucker and Megyn Find an Unlikely New Fan Base: Muslim Audiences

She noted that she’s become more “clear-eyed” on Israel. … “And I’ve taken a look recently at my own rhetoric on this to say, ‘Have I been manipulated on this?'”

Megyn Kelly recently boasted that both she and Tucker Carlson have seen their audiences grow in recent months — with much of that new support coming from Muslim viewers. Once among the loudest critics of Islamic fundamentalism, both have dramatically repositioned themselves in pursuit of a new audience.

The Manhattan Institute’s Jesse Arm noted Kelly’s dramatic reversal in a recent post on X. He presented a clip from January in which Kelly argued that “Islam is not consistent with the values of America.” She told viewers:

They should stay in countries that don’t care about keeping church and state separated … protecting free speech … women’s rights. That’s where Islam can fester and grow. … If you don’t care about genital mutilation, you might really enjoy living in an Islamic country.

There’s no such thing as Islamophobia. You are not only entitled to quote “fear Islam,” I would argue it’s your duty as a Christian to stand up and fight against it.

However, just four months later, she’s done a complete 180. During an interview with podcaster Mark Halperin this week, she raised the issue of Carlson’s jump in viewership since his split from President Donald Trump and said, as if it were a good thing, “He’s standing up for Islam.”

She noted that she’s become more “clear-eyed” on Israel:

A lot of the anti-Muslim rhetoric that’s put out there originates with people who are very, very pro-Israel who kind of need us to demonize them.

And I’ve taken a look recently at my own rhetoric on this to say, ‘Have I been manipulated on this? I want to make sure I’m not getting manipulated.’

He’s [Carlson] having a lot of Muslim viewers flock to him. And so, while he may have lost some contingent of the Fox News audience that’s very, very pro-Israel, pro-Trump … for every one of those who leaves, there is another newer, younger audience member who does want to hear these traditional lines challenged and hear just new, independent thinking.

I’m experiencing some of that myself.

Arm calls Kelly’s wholesale shift in position “quite the flip.” He remarked, “If you devote your program to alienating conservatives, Trump supporters, and Evangelical Protestants throughout the West, you’re likely to attract the opposite audience: progressives, Trump haters, and Islamists from the Third World.”

Kelly’s “epiphany” appears to be more motivated by “clicks” than conviction as Ben Shapiro rightly pointed out on X, “Go get them clicks.”

Professor Jacobson considers Kelly’s change of heart to be worse than Carlson’s because Carlson actually believes in what he’s saying. During an interview on The Tony Katz Show, Professor Jacobson said:

Tucker actually believes the stuff. I think he’s malicious. I think he’s wrong. I think he’s devious. But I think he actually believes the stuff.

Megyn Kelly’s doing it for clicks and audience. … She’s been justifying what Tucker’s been doing and what she’s been doing because they’re accessing the Islamic world audience.

We know the Islamic World is grotesquely antisemitic. I mean, we’re talking approaching 100% just hate Jews.

They treat women horribly. They are worse than totalitarian societies. In Iran, they will torture a woman to death if she shows a strand of hair in public.

That’s the audience she’s now going for?

Steven Crowder also took aim at Kelly’s conversion:

You’re wrong, @megynkelly. Being pro- or anti-Israel doesn’t change the facts about Islam:

-Muslims have killed countless Christians, Jews, and Non-Muslims
-They’ve enslaved millions (including 1M+ Europeans)
-Child marriage is permissible
-Men can marry 4 wives
-Female testimony is worth less than a man’s
-Women MUST wear hijabs
-Muslims used violence to expand Islam every century since it’s founding

I’ve ALWAYS been critical of Islam for the same reasons that I’m critical of Islam today.

Kelly’s transformation has been impossible to miss. And few are buying it.

In just a matter of months, rhetoric that once portrayed Islam as fundamentally incompatible with Western values has given way to appeals for “clear-eyed” reassessment — precisely as Muslim audiences increasingly flock to her and Carlson’s platforms.

The timing is too convenient to ignore: what’s being marketed as independent thinking looks far more like a calculated rebrand designed to maximize reach, engagement, and clicks.

She’s spent decades building a reputation for seriousness and credibility. That she would jeopardize that hard-earned integrity now in pursuit of clicks and audience growth is a mystery.

Keep an eye on J.D. Vance for if he continues to be a fan of Tucker and Megyn, we know he is a fan of socialist anti-Semite Theo Von and he wants Gen Z to watch him.

Is this the same Theo Vaughn who had Trump on his lomg form podcast for an interview in Aug of ’24 as early voting was getting ready to kick off for the Presidential election year and paid off by growing the vote count among younger men for Trump/GoP in ’24? The same.Theo Vaughn who,.like many under 45 men, was a Bernie Bro but came to recognize the flaws and shifted support towards MAGA? Lots of former center/left populists have joined the center/right populists of the MAGA/Tea Party/Perot movement precisely the same way b/c they realized how Cray Cray the leftist wokiesta d/prog policies are and how much more they have in common with the center/right populists than the leftist nuts.

Well we have a Bernie Bro who aligns with Hasan Piker after having once reconsidered with a temporary Trump alignment.

He also aligns behind such conservatives as Ro Khanna, he actively demonizes “the rich” “the elite” as well as the Jews, he comes up with conspiracy theories about the great profits hospitals make…..

Theo Von has nothing in common with the right, he is a socialist, an anti-Semite, and he loves to demonize American capital.

        K. I think you’re chasing shadows but it’s a few country….but only so long as those of us opposed to d/prog policies (IMO including censorship/calls to deplatform from govt or private sector) remain united to defeat d/prog candidates and their Cray Cray policies.

Health care/health insurance has become even more of a have/have not issue since the DC establishment darling McCain refused to assist in reining in/rolling back Obama Care. Folks like Vaughn may misunderstand which entities are profiting, lion’s share to IN Co and Pharma but big hospital chains as well if not so greatly, he is correct about dramatically rising costs and affordability. More guests on his podcast to offer better understanding is the answer not shunning. As DJT understood we go to meet the audience where it is to try and convince them to join us through ‘better speech’.

Is he antisemitic? He’s critical of Israeli policies for sure and would rather have the US govt more focused on the direct interests of US Citizens ….which is pretty common among those younger than Boomers. Plenty of folks want America First MAGA to be focused on ….putting America First and then, once we’ve got our own house in order, we can see if we have time, money, energy to focus any remainder elsewhere. The old certainties that are so comforting to older generations are less so for younger generations.

His conspiracy theory about the great profit hospitals make shows he will always gravitate towards socialism, no matter who is trying to do the manipulation.

There are much better comedians on the left who J.D. Vance would never recommend, and for political commentary he is exactly the kind of voice you do not want a young person to listen to.

We know thanks to the 20th century where that mans politics lead and it is nothing pleasant.

Two utterly wretched, despicable, self-enriching, morally bankrupt, and hypocritical prostitute-shills for Islamofascism/Muslim supremacism.

Two contemptible, useful idiot dhimmis, lining their pockets with thirty pieces of Qatari or other Islamofascist silver.

I never thought of Meghan as serious or credible. None of this “news” about her is shocking.
Agree with your assessment, last sentence. Once a ……., always a …… as the saying goes.

Next in line to make a big shift for clicks…

Lara Logan

Right? Because Logan found out the hard way what Muslims are really like and don’t think for one second that any mob wouldn’t do the same or worse to Kelly and feel entirely justified in doing so.

Stupid people…

I call this class of grifters ‘The De-Constructionists.’ They’re the ‘used-to-bees’; former MAGA, former Team USA, former Conservatives, etc. who now vomit the most obnoxious and insane drivel; the more obnoxious and insane the better.

And their breakneck, about face is either due to being bought off, blackmailed, or threatened by deep sewer black ops (domestic or foreign) in order to co-opt their big platforms to sabotage MAGA from the inside out.

They haven’t been able to mvrder Trump, but they did mvrder Charlie and saw the MAGA wall shatter. They then created these de-constructionists to batter & attack the wall some more.

I don’t know how else to explain it. It’s wa-ay beyond ‘mere TDS.’ Does any one have different theory?

Just asking. I don’t listen to either of them.

Does being critical of the nation of Israel automatically make one pro Muslim? Or pro Islam? Or even anti-Semitic?

I really did not like Joe Biden, did that make me anti American?

You know why. Don’t try to play dumb.

They go far, FAR beyond ‘critical of the nation of Israel’.

They scream that Israel secretly runs the world and is just oppressing the poor Muslims, that AIPAC owns the government, and that we just don’t like Tucker and Candace Owens because of a secret campaign by TEH JOOS.

Tucker was unashamedly posting ridiculous propaganda straight from Al Jazeera and the Iranian government.

Yes, being critical of the nation of Israel, i..e. the Jews, doesn’t automatically make you pro-Islam or pro-Moslem — you could be a Christian bigot — but it does automatically make you antisemitic, since that’s what antisemitism means. In the same way, being critical of the USAn nation automatically makes you anti-USA.

Joe Biden was not America, any more than Trump is America. Biden was and Trump is an employee hired to run the American government. Not liking the way either of them did/is doing their job doesn’t make you against the nation; it can make you very for the nation. The fact is that Biden did a terrible job, and Trump is doing a good job, so if you dislike Trump you may be anti-American, but you may also simply be mistaken, or on the contrary you may be very pro-American and dislike the fact that even Trump is far from perfect.

In the same way, being against any given Israeli government doesn’t make you anti-Israeli, let alone antisemitic. You may think an Israel government is doing a bad job. I agree that the current government, while it’s one of the better ones Israel has had, is not doing a good job, mostly because Israel is not a democracy and the elected government has very little power. But there have been Israeli governments that were dedicated on purpose to doing a very bad job, just like Biden was in the USA. Expressing that opinion doesn’t make one anti-Israel or anti-USA.

The point, however, is that criticizing Israel’s existence, or the extremely moderate measures it takes to continue existing, is antisemitic. It’s not antisemitic to criticize those measures for being too moderate; but it is to characterize them as too extreme, because they’re objectively not. Saying that the Jews, alone among all nations, are not entitled to have their own state in their native land, or that they must allow themselves to be slaughtered and put into ovens, is by definition antisemitic. And that’s what Carlson and Kelly are doing.

      Exactly.

I too have not watched either if these in quite some tome. Maybe Kelly thinks Islam is all great but it’s not demonstrated by clips in the above story. The interview she notes Tucker facts. Only think she says about herself is that she’s doing an internal check to make certain that she is not being manipulated. Data presented with the story does not support the conclusions.

Megyn Kelly has never impressed me since I first saw her on Bill O’Reilly’s program on Fox News.

I’m not saying she was terrible even back then, but she never seemed to be a rock-solid conservative. These days, she is just a grifter,

This tells you all you need to know–

The people who made Tucker and Megyn are leaving. But it’s okay. They’re being replaced by new, younger, jihadi listeners who want to hear new, independent ideas.

Which new ideas? Why that the jews control the world and must be eliminated.
