Iran Reportedly Boycotting Next Islamabad Negotiation, Trump Say Will Blow Up “The Whole Country” If No Deal

Iran Reportedly Boycotting Next Islamabad Negotiation, Trump Say Will Blow Up “The Whole Country” If No Deal

The BBC: “Iran has yet to confirm they are attending.”

With the two-week ceasefire set to end on Wednesday, Iran appears to be boycotting the negotiations scheduled for Islamabad, Pakistan.

While a high-level U.S. delegation is heading for Pakistan, the Iranian regime is refusing to confirm its participation in the second round of talks.

“President Donald Trump says his representatives, headed by Vice President JD Vance, will return to Pakistan for negotiations,” the BBC reported. “Iran has yet to confirm they are attending.”

Iran’s state media declared that the regime will not join the negotiations unless the U.S. ends its blockade. Last Sunday, President Trump ordered the Navy to blockade Iranian ports after the first round of talks failed in Pakistan.

Reuters said that “[t]here is currently no ‌decision by Iran to send a negotiating delegation to Pakistan “as long as there is a naval blockade,” ‌Iran’s Tasnim news agency reported on Sunday, citing its reporter.”

President Donald Trump confirmed on Truth Social that U.S. “Representatives are going to Islamabad, Pakistan — They will be there tomorrow evening, for Negotiations.”

The U.S. will participate in the talks despite recent Iranian attacks on shipping and the regime’s attempts to reassert its control over the Strait of Hormuz, thereby disrupting the global energy supply.

Axios reported:

Vice President Vance will lead a U.S. delegation for another round of talks with Iran in Islamabad before the ceasefire is scheduled to end on Tuesday, two U.S. officials tell Axios.

Trump had previously said his envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner would depart for Pakistan on Sunday. (…)

Iran attacked several commercial vessels on Saturday after announcing it was once again closing the Strait of Hormuz. (…)

Trump convened an unusual Saturday Situation Room meeting in response to the new crisis. A U.S. official said that at the end of the meeting Trump still expressed a desire to try reach a deal with Iran, before exploring other options.

President Donald Trump warned Tehran to take his offer seriously or face the destruction of its energy and logistical infrastructure.

He said on Truth Social that the U.S was “offering a very fair and reasonable DEAL, and I hope they take it because, if they don’t, the United States is going to knock out every single Power Plant, and every single Bridge, in Iran. NO MORE MR. NICE GUY.”

The Iranian aggression in the Strait of Hormuz coincides with ceasefire violations by Hezbollah. On Thursday, President Trump announced a temporary truce, pausing a 6-week conflict that erupted after Hezbollah launched attacks against Israel on Iran’s behalf.

Iran is claiming on X it has “intelligence” that the US and Israel are planning a “surprise” attack. LMAO. How exactly is it a surprise?

There is no need to bomb power plants. Every ship they attack, we sink two of their flagged vessels and seize another in the pacific. Why Iran still has fast attack capability at this point is beyond me.

Don – There is no deal you can make that the IRGC will honor. Untill they are martyred to the last fanatic, the war will go on, as it has for the past 1400 years.

Was going to make the same observation.

The IRGC are fanatics and their paramilitary corps, the Basij, cannot be controlled by civil authority and must be effectively exterminated.

Tactically, it’s problematic. But we have to eliminate enough of them that the unarmed civilian population can finish them off.

Presently the Basij patrol the streets with heavily armed vehicles. After all they have suffered I don’t expect unarmed civilians to attack Basij with AA guns mounted on trucks.

Hopefully, Israel knows where the IRCG leaders are hiding. They seem the ones that are the problem, unless Iran is playing good cop-bad cop. Trump is bending over backward to let the good cops win and forego more destruction, but if entails the latter, so be it.

They are stalling hoping the time will run out and the democrats won’t support a vote on extending the war.

If push ever comes to shove, Trump will have the option of triggering the weapon that every president since Nixon has held in reserve. Since the War Powers Resolution was passed in 1973, over Nixon’s veto, every president has maintained that it’s unconstitutional, but has voluntarily followed it anyway, holding in reserve the right to disobey it if and when that proves necessary. Trump could decide to pull the trigger and dare the Dems to take him to court.

Something occurs to me: The blockading of the ports + the killings of many top leaders has scrambled them, and the attacks on ships are scattered. We’ll know when the cease-fire expires on Tuesday.

Argh,,,,, when will anyone in Washington learn that muslims like the chinese play a long game and will never do anything that is not in their interest even if you have them bent over a barrel with a large caliber gun fixed firmly to their skull, Just give up on making a deal and pound them into submission for the next 20 years or so,

There is no one to negotiate with. The IRGC isn’t going to recognize the authority of any “civilian” government. Until every high level IRGC commander is turned into bologna mist, there’s no hope of negotiating anything.

We’ll soon find out, but right now my guess is that the two ship attacks were by field commanders without authorization from anyone. If I’m wrong about that (quite possible) then we’ll see plenty of speedboats sunk by A-10s and helicopter gunships. For the moment, I choose to be optimistic. I think we’re near the end. If not, another couple weeks of blockaded ports will do the trick.

So be there, or be Dresden Square.

I’ll say this about the Iranians: they not missing an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

Can we just forget this “negotiation” theater, and kick the IRGC into oblivion? Not only are the Iranians bound to lie, so no agreement is worth the paper it is printed on, but they will still be working towards launching nukes at Israel and US bases. Just squash them like the insects they are. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

It’s a bold strategy Cotton. Lets see if it works out for ‘em.

Pull the trigger, Mr. President, or Chuck Schumer will.
