Trump ‘Prohibits’ Israel From Striking Lebanon as Netanyahu Says War With Hezbollah Not Over Yet
Netanyahu: “There are things we plan to do regarding the remaining rocket threat and the drone threat, which I will not detail here.”
President Donald Trump “prohibited” Israel from carrying out further strikes in Lebanon, as Prime Minister Benjamin warned that the conflict with terrorist group Hezbollah was far from over.
“Israel will not be bombing Lebanon any longer. They are PROHIBITED from doing so by the USA,” President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social on Friday.
“Enough is enough,” he concluded.
The post comes as the U.S.-brokered 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon entered its second day. According to the terms of the ceasefire released by the U.S. State Department, Israel retains the “right to take all necessary measures in self-defence, at any time, against planned, imminent, or ongoing attacks.”
The temporary ceasefire pauses a six-week conflict, which began after Hezbollah attacked Israel on behalf of Iran, drawing Lebanon into the war.

President Trump wrote those remarks after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a statement, said that Israel, while honoring the ceasefire, was committed to ‘finishing the job’ when it came to securing its northern border from the Iranian proxy terrorist group.
After 45 days of fighting, Israel “created a deep security buffer zone along the entire northern border. They wanted to surround us with a ring of fire; we created a ring of security,” the Israeli prime minister said.

“At the request of my friend, President Trump, we have agreed to a temporary ceasefire in Lebanon,” Netanyahu declared. While highlighting Israel’s military successes against the terrorist group, he asserted that “we have not yet finished the job.”
“There are things we plan to do regarding the remaining rocket threat and the drone threat, which I will not detail here,” he disclosed.
The Times of Israel reported Netanyahu’s remarks:
The road to peace with Lebanon is long, says Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, “but we have begun.”
“One hand holds a weapon; the other is extended for peace,” says Netanyahu in a video statement defending his decision to accept a 10-day ceasefire with Lebanon.
At US President Donald Trump’s request, says Netanyahu, “we are giving an opportunity to advance a combined diplomatic and military solution with the Lebanese government.”
But the fight against Hezbollah is not over, Netanyahu insists.
He argues that since October 7, 2023, Israel has removed the threat of Hezbollah infiltration and anti-tank fire, as well as 90% of Hezbollah’s rockets.
“I will say honestly, we have not yet finished the job,” Netanyahu continues. “There are things we plan to do regarding the remaining rocket threat and the drone threat, which I will not detail.”
Israel is also working to “dismantle” Hezbollah, he says, “but this will not be achieved tomorrow. It requires sustained effort, patience, and careful navigation in the diplomatic arena.”
With the ceasefire taking effect on Thursday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) remained on ‘high alert’ against attacks from Hezbollah. “The IDF is on high alert in defense and will operate in accordance with directives from the political echelon,” the Israeli military said in a statement ahead of the truce.
For a lasting peace, the Lebanese government must disarm Hezbollah, a task Beirut failed to accomplish despite a 2024 U.S.-backed ceasefire with the same requirement. Lebanon’s political class either lacks the will or the desire to purge the country of Iran’s terrorist proxy.

I stand with Bibi, he knows his countries very existence depends on its enemies elimination
It’s such a small country with so many enemies
He knows if the Republicans lose the WH and Congress they are done
I have a bad feeling about this ‘pause’. It serves to isolate Israel and gives Hezbollah more time. I hope the Hezbos break it soon so Israel can finish the job.
I just saw this on Fox news: “Trump says Iran agreed to never close Strait of Hormuz again”. Utterly meaningless. I hope this is not a declare victory and walk away with too much work yet to do.
Midterms
So much for those losers who constantly spout that the US does what Israel tells them to do. As I’ve said repeatedly it is actually the other way around.
This is yet another reason why Israel should cease accepting US aid and make most of its own arms with the exception of a few large ticket items like planes and submarines. They are better off in control of their own destiny than be subject to the plans and whims of whomever is President at any given time.
All these pauses with Hezbollah and Iran are going to do is give the muslims time to regroup and rearm. Nothing fundamental has changed in either place.
That was my first thought — this will be put up or shut up time for all the people who claim that Bennie pushes and Donnie goes along.
Every fricking time Israel has been in a conflict it is the US which has reined them in and stopped it. The only time I’m not positive about is 1948, On the opposite side the US has never fought a war for Israel. Not in 2 times we were in Lebanon. Not in the 2 times we were in Iraq. Not in Afghanistan. Not in Syria. Not now in Iran. Every time we fought is because it was in our interest or so the President of the time claimed,
As for my comment about Israel disengaging from the US there are more and more democratic congressman coming down on the side of not selling Israel any weapons. That doesn’t satisfy their insane base who would rather we bomb Israel and kill their citizens but if this continues this will be a major problem for Israel in the future,
We live in a evil world
So different from my youth, where I felt safe, everyone patriotic, even with the Vietnam war, I loved the soldiers but knew my government had made a bad decision. If your going to fight a war, make it short and use all your capabilities, not 50,000 young men lives to cut and run, , no politician could dream of winning when he texted he wanted to kill a fellow politician s children because they were children of republicans.
We are fighting the enemy and they are within our walls and Trump is the only way forward
Stay strong President Trump
Over at the cartoon website known as “the Tucker Carlson Network”, they are continuing the fantasy that America is run by the Israel government and its leader Bibi. That is nuts. When Trump yells jump, Bibi says how high. He has no choice in the matter and in the long run that probably helps Israel.
That is not a bad thing for either Israel or the United States. Trump is far and away the most sympathetic to Israel president since Truman and he has allowed Israel far more latitude to act militarily. At the same time he has made more progress with the Arab nations than anyone would have thought possible.
Iran has been an increasing threat to United States interests for decades. The result of years of failure of resolve in confronting Iran has greatly increased the cost to the US of doing so now. Israel has proved an invaluable partner to the US in mitigating this threat, something that the US military is more than happy to acknowledge.
The Israeli people have been running to bomb shelters at all hours of the day and night for two and a half years and they were under rocket fire from Iran and Lebanon since the start of Epic Fury. They have suffered civilian casualties and damage. Americans on the home front have been completely spared in this conflict. If it costs a bit more for gas for a couple of months, think of what the Israelis have been going through and ask yourself would you want to change places.
Iran’s best friend in the world is the US axis of appeasers which is an unholy alliance of woke progressives who believe all problems are due to American imperialism and right wing conspiracy nuts who think all our problems can be laid at the feet of the Jews. In spite of the noise coming from this awful coalition, the American people are very decent and see through this nonsense
WTH??? Where does Trump get the idea that the USA can “prohibit” Israel from doing anything? Is Netanyahu admitting that Israel is no longer an independent, sovereign nation?!
for the past 80 years the usa has dictated what israel can do
I dont like it either
They’ve always at least had the decency to pretend that Israel is independent.
same ol song and dance
Each Nation should do whatever is in the best interest of their broad middle class; not invoking amorphous, ephemeral platitudes but direct, concrete benefits to them and their posterity. Where those interests overlap with those of other Nations we should try to work together. When those interests diverge or are in conflict we should stay our hand.
As an example; the notion of ‘Greater Israel’. Obviously that would be beneficial to the long-term security interests of Israel and if the Israeli leadership wishes to pursue it they should do so. The USA has no skin in that project and frankly it would harm the interests of the USA by PO friendly ish regional partners of the USA and very likely bring more direct and indirect attacks/threats on US Citizens. We shouldn’t prevent Israeli action but we don’t gotta support it either. Telling lobbyists that including powerful lobbyists advocating for US support of Israel isn’t ‘anti Israel’ much less anti Zionist or anti Semitic.
