Trump: ‘We May Stop by Cuba After We’re Finished With’ Iran

“Well, we’re going to see with Cuba. Cuba is another story.”

President Donald Trump hinted that America might visit Cuba after leaving Iran.

From the video:

USA Today’s @Fran_Chambers: “You previously said that you had no problem with countries sending fuel to Cuba after previously promising to tariff them. What happened? What changed?”

President Trump: “Well, we’re going to see with Cuba. Cuba is another story. Cuba has been a terribly run country for a long time. It’s got a bad system. It’s been very oppressive, as you know. And we have a lot of great Cuban Americans, all of whom just about voted for me. And they were treated very badly. In many cases, family members have been killed. They’ve been beaten up and mugged. And like terrible things happened in Cuba. And Cuba is a failing nation. And we’re going to do this. And we may stop by Cuba after we’re finished with this. But Cuba is a nation that was just been horribly run for many years by Castro.”

Life has gone even more downhill since January, when the administration slapped an oil blockade on Cuba after the military captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

Venezuela provided Cuba with the majority of its oil and has always been a key ally.

Trump allowed a Russian tanker with 730,000 barrels of oil to enter Cuban waters around two weeks ago, rendering the blockade useless:

“If a country wants to send some oil into Cuba right now, I have no problem, whether it’s Russia … and if other countries want to do it,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One as he returned to Washington from a weekend at his Mar-a-Lago home.

“It’s not going to have an impact,” Trump said. “Cuba’s finished … whether or not they get a boat of oil, it’s not going to matter.”

In March, Cuban dictator Miguel Díaz-Canel confirmed his regime has held talks with the Trump administration.

Never get your hopes up when it comes to these regimes.

Díaz-Canel appears to want to come across as more cooperative, telling Meet the Press, “I think we can have an approach in terms of what is possible and what is difficult. I think dialogue and deals with the U.S. government are possible, but they’re difficult.”

Maduro and Iran have always been defiant, never engaging in serious talks with the Trump administration.

It appears Díaz-Canel has chosen the victim route, trying to show the world he will try to work with Trump.

So when it ultimately fails, he can say, “I tried!”

But Díaz-Canel let the mask slip, probably because a narcissist cannot help himself: “I have no fear. I am willing to give my life for the revolution.”

But, again, I doubt anything will happen until the Cuban leaders and elite suffer. As citizens deal with blackouts and a lack of necessities, those at the top have no problem accessing plumbing, clean water, and electricity.

Cool beans. Set a blockade. Ruthlessly enforce it by bringing any vessel or aircraft which violates the enforcement area under fire. Force down the aircraft to MIA, board and seize the vessels/aircraft for resale or scuttling. Shoot down/sink those which refuse to comply.
