50 Former Staffers Release Statement Calling on Swalwell to Resign from Congress

50 Former Staffers Release Statement Calling on Swalwell to Resign from Congress

“The allegations reported by the San Francisco Chronicle and CNN are serious, credible, and demand accountability. … Justice is not optional.”

After initially resisting calls to suspend his gubernatorial bid following Friday’s reports of sexual misconduct, the embattled Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) ultimately yielded to mounting pressure from Democratic allies, former endorsers, donors, and pundits, exiting the race Sunday evening.

He must now go further and resign from Congress, as the very concerns that compelled him to end his campaign equally call into question his fitness to serve in public office.

On Sunday, 50 of Eric Swalwell’s former staffers issued a statement urging him to do just that. Notably, each signatory identified themselves and their former roles.

The statement below was written before Swalwell announced he was leaving the governor’s race, so calls for him to do so are included as well. [Emphasis added.]

We, the undersigned former staffers of Congressman Eric Swalwell, write today with heavy hearts and unwavering resolve. The allegations reported by the San Francisco Chronicle and CNN are serious, credible, and demand accountability. We stand unequivocally with our colleague, who showed extraordinary courage in coming forward to share her truth. We believe her.

What has been described is not a political attack. It is the account of a young woman who trusted her employer, who was targeted and exploited by someone in a position of power over her, and who has carried this burden for years. The corroboration reported by both outlets, including medical records and multiple witnesses, makes clear that this cannot be dismissed or deflected. No statement, no cease-and-desist letter, and no claim of political motivation changes what our colleague experienced.

We call on all relevant law enforcement authorities to open a full and thorough investigation into the allegations against Congressman Swalwell without delay. No one is above the law. Not a congressman. Not a candidate for governor. No one.

We further call on Congressman Swalwell to immediately withdraw from the California gubernatorial race and to resign his seat in the United States Congress. The people of California’s 14th Congressional District, and the people of this country, deserve representation from someone whose conduct reflects the values of public service. Remaining in either role while these allegations hang unresolved is an insult to every person who has ever worked for him, reported to him, or placed their trust in him.

To our colleague: you are not alone. We see you. We stand with you. We are deeply sorry that we did not know what you were enduring, and we carry the weight of that with us. Your bravery in speaking out has given voice to what many victims have feared to say, and we are grateful for your courage. We are appalled by his actions and stand firmly with you and every victim who has come forward.

Justice is not optional. Accountability is not negotiable. We will not be silent.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries was among the Democrats calling for Swalwell to suspend his campaign. However, asked at a Sunday rally in Richmond, Virginia, whether he should also resign from Congress, Jeffries was noncommittal, according to CNN. He replied, “We’ll reconvene in Washington early next week and we’ll have more to say.”

Meanwhile, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) has vowed to force a vote to expel him from Congress this week if he does not resign his seat.

CNN reported:

Some Democrats who are willing to expel Swalwell say Republicans will have to also support the expulsion of GOP Rep. Tony Gonzales of Texas, who recently admitted to having an affair with a staffer, which runs afoul of US House rules. Gonzales ended his reelection bid but said he would finish his term.

I don’t think too many Republicans would have a problem with that.

Many have argued that Eric Swalwell’s situation is a kind of poetic justice, the consequence of his relentless scrutiny of others confronted with similar allegations. It’s worth recalling that Swalwell was an outspoken critic of Supreme Court Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his 2018 Senate confirmation hearings, calling for immediate investigations and repeatedly stating that his accusers “deserve[d] to be heard.”

Swalwell has been equally outspoken in his public remarks about the Epstein files.

I’ll leave you with a community note on a post from former congresswoman and current California gubernatorial candidate Katie Porter, who stands to gain the most from Swalwell’s withdrawal from the race.

Porter wrote: “The allegations against Congressman Swalwell are horrifying. I’m thinking of the courageous women who have come forward to share their stories. We believe you and we stand with you.”

The community note reminds readers:

Katie Porter is an alleged domestic abuser who poured scalding potatoes on her ex husband’s head. She’s also been seen on camera verbally berating staff for minor sleights and has been described as abusive herself. nypost.com/2025/10/10/us-… politico.com/news/2025/10/0…

He must resign? Resign? Really?!?? You seem to forget that until recently Congress had a secret fund to pay off any and all women who made allegations of sexual misconduct against any Representative or Senator. They paid them off and had them sign NDAs and told never mention the allegations again. And you think anyone in the House gives a rat’s patootie about some sexual assault allegations? Hardly. Being forced out of the House is just collateral damage as democrats railroad him out of the California gubernatorial race. A race he was predicted to lose as two Republicans take the top spots in the election. But there you go and here we are.

eot

We need to embarass them and call them out. The Dems will do what is best for the Dems, but if you make the price of keeping Swalwell in the House higher than kicking him out, the Dems will kick him out.

They are the “party of choice” and have no problem aborting one of their own. All they care about is their own power.

You make it sound like the Republicans have any part to play in this little TikTok drama, other than watching it and cheering. This isn’t a mugging, it’s pure domestic violence.

Lucifer Morningstar in reply to EBL. | April 13, 2026 at 6:48 pm

Indeed we do. But don’t think this is some kind of major accomplishment. As I said, it’s just the collateral damage from the democrat leadership forcing Swalwell to give up his gubernatorial ambitions. Nothing more. Nothin less.

henrybowman in reply to Lucifer Morningstar. | April 13, 2026 at 2:38 pm

Democrat Kings wanted him out of the governor’s race. He balked, so they used their blackmail. He still refused, promising to fight the allegations, so they suddenly declared him unfit for his current post as well. He caved on their initial demands and (not having “taken the first deal” when he should have) is still on the defensive.

Landru has spoken — Swalwell is no longer “of the body.”

If you or I were accused of what Swalwell is accused of doing, we would be looking at a very long term of incarceration. And justifiably so.

So until this creep is standing in front of a judge answering to multiple charges of rape, you can assume that what’s before you is just political maneuvering to get him out of the race. If he is still in Congress on Election Day, it’s doubly so.

You can’t even put pigtails in your inkwell these days without somebody getting upset.

His staff is what got him into trouble.

He’s hurting the Party, so they want to throw him under the bus as quick as possible. The Dems hope that throwing him out of the Legislature will allow them to demand the Republicans throw one out also. That’s their two major objectives.

Their equivalenting rape and an affair to find a Republican to get rid of is kind of stupid. I am not defending affairs but it is a whole different level of “rule breaking” .

    Obie1 in reply to georgfelis. | April 13, 2026 at 12:17 pm

They already got Santos, so the score (in some twisted way) should be even.

The ‘score’ is never even. The Dems want every single Republican out of ‘their’ legislatures, except a few token Rinos to show how accepting they are.

destroycommunism | April 13, 2026 at 11:51 am

maybe they just downt him in the race so he doesnt interfere with newsom

what prompted this alll of a sudden revelation?

not who cares..b/c the dems knew about this garbage

henrybowman in reply to destroycommunism. | April 13, 2026 at 2:46 pm

Newsom’s not even in the picture. He’s term-limited out.
Eric was going to subvert the careful math on their jungle primary scam and they needed him off the ballot.

The staffers seem concerned that their colleague carried this burden for years and cite witnesses. So where were these people before now???

This is being orchestrated by someone that Swalwell did dirty,..It might be interesting to check the bank accounts of his recent detractors,…..

Holding entirely unrelated struggle sessions in various remote provinces, as ordered by their party leadership.

During JoeBama administration: Swalwell cheated on his wife, boink boinked fang fang chinese spy, and molested female staffers.

*crickets*

2026: Swalwell p!ssed in someone’s cornflakes when he announced his run for CA governor.

*KNIVES OUT, HE’S A PREDATOR, MUST BE DESTROYED*

Wow. Like a well-oiled machine, these leftists know how to wield power.

Meanwhile, John Thune(R), “Uh, codiciles, procedures, tradition. Harumph. Decorum. We must be prudent. Harumph.”

We’re gonna lose and lose badly.

Bees versus bears, time and time again. Bears got the independence, individual intelligence, and mobility. Bees got the bulletproof organization and the single, overarching will to victory.
Unlike Republicans, actual bears can also survive on fish.

He was sleeping with a Chinese spy and nobody even cared. Now he’s caught with hoors and everyone has something to say.

I’m getting the feeling our country is for sale

“Sleights”?

Typical, vile, evil and morally bankrupt Dhimmi-crats.

Just as with Epstein, Weinstein and too many other prominent Dhimmi-crat donors and apparatchiks to count, they are happy to countenance lechers, rapists and sexual predators, in their party tent — until it becomes politically inconvenient, to do so.

destroycommunism | April 13, 2026 at 12:26 pm

ohh how we pine for the days of

cigars and blue dresses

The rat behind this is Pelosi.

All these sanctimonious Congress people outraged about Swalwell, seem to be nonchalant about the Congressional slush fund that is used to buy the silence of the staffers and others that Members have abused. Time for a Freedom of Information Act filing to find out who?

As Jackie Gleason would say, “How sweet it is!”.

They are removing Democrats from the primary because they’ve read the writing on the wall that says that their rigging of the system to create a de facto one party state is about to blow up in their faces.

Swallwell is just upset that he never got to frolic with Fanny Foxe in the Tidal Basin while he had the chance. He’ll never cross that item off his bucket list now,

BTW: His billionaire timeshare condo buddy just booted him out of his house where Swallwell was staying, Poor guy, Now rejected even by a timeshare crook.

henrybowman in reply to ztakddot. | April 13, 2026 at 2:58 pm

Ruben Gallego (D-CDS) just retracted his endorsement.
Swalwell better find himself some mattresses to go to.

“Some Democrats who are willing to expel Swalwell say Republicans will have to also support the expulsion of GOP Rep. Tony Gonzales of Texas…
I don’t think too many Republicans would have a problem with that.”

Only to the extent of who fills the seat before Hererra gobbles it up in the upcoming election (an event I have been eagerly anticipating).

If you ever wondered how they cleared the path for Biden or how Bernie walked away twice you have your answer. The king makers have spoken. Something tells me they have much to hide in California.

1) Most of them knew all along, and its been an “open secret” for literally decades.

2) D’s typically circle the wagons and protect one of their own, until they absolutely can’t any longer. Yet, here, instantly thrown under the bus by virtually everyone that matters in the Party.

So, why? Why now?? And, why are they not even trying to save him?

Simple: The ENTIRE point of this is the D Party wants Swalwell to drop out of the CA Governor’s race because there are too many D candidates in the “jungle” primary and only the top two advance – the top two are currently both R’s.

So, they need to consolidate the D vote enough to get at least one D in the top two of that primary, after which, CA being CA, they figure they’ll win the general.

There has never been a time when anyone on the left cared at all about any rapes committed by any prominent liberal, and there never will be.

50 former staffers? I’m releasing a letter from 50 former checkout girls who urged me not to buy potato chips.
