New President at Minnesota North College a Big Supporter of DEI Policies
“has a passion for innovation, diversity, equity, and inclusion”
This is Minnesota, so this checks out. At some point, that state went super woke.
Campus Reform reports:
Minnesota North College taps president who ‘advocates for DEI’
Minnesota North College’s new president has close ties to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, which the college describes positively in its announcement.
The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system, which oversees Minnesota North College, announced Jessalyn Sabin as the college’s next president on March 18. Minnesota North is a community college with six campuses.
Sabin most recently served as the academic dean for career and technical education and campus director at Eveleth, one of Minnesota North’s campuses. She also describes DEI as a key component of her work.
Minnesota State’s announcement says Sabin “has a passion for innovation, diversity, equity, and inclusion” and “advocates for DEI.”
Sabin’s CV on the college’s website says she is “[p]assionate about equity in education, rural opportunities, and the students we serve.” Her “Key Responsibilities” lists her as an “Advocate for DEI and remote learning initiatives.”
In 2024, she secured a $200,000 grant from the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota for an “equity-focused program expansion.” She secured a similar $150,000 grant from the foundation in 2022.
According to its website, the foundation “advocates for statewide policies that advance safety, economic justice, and holistic well-being and build power with communities for gender and racial justice statewide.”
Sabin’s commitment to DEI mirrors that of Minnesota North College’s. The college has a section of its mission dedicated to “Equity and Inclusion.”
“We advance equity and social justice, striving to build more diverse, equitable, and inclusive communities,” the page says.
“Minnesota North College is firmly committed to equity and inclusion principles,” the school’s Student Handbook says. “This commitment is illustrated by strengthening existing relationships and building new relationships within the diverse communities that the college serves.”

Innovation at a Community College? Give me a break. That is where they train people to work at a Fourbux in a grocery store.
Oh look, it’s another AWFL…..
