Trump Reveals Plan for ‘Massive’ Military Complex Beneath White House Ballroom

President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday, “The military is building a massive complex under the [White House] ballroom, which has come out recently because of a stupid lawsuit that was filed.”

Trump emphasized the security features of the new construction: “We have all bulletproof glass. We have drone-proof roofs, ceilings. Everything is drone-proof and bulletproof, and unfortunately, we’re living in an age where that’s a good thing.”
Construction on the project has begun, and “we’re doing very well,” he said. “We’re ahead of schedule and under budget.”
Trump reminded reporters, “All of the money paid is paid by myself and donors. It’s all donors. There’s not one dime of government money going into the ballroom.”

The ballroom proposal was approved in February by the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts, which fast-tracked the roughly $400 million project following a unanimous vote of 6-0.
The project will be built on the site of the former East Wing, which was demolished in October, and is expected to significantly expand the White House’s capacity for large events.
Previous administrations have long relied on temporary structures to host major gatherings, as the old East Wing dining room had just a 200-seat capacity.
Trump also described the ballroom as being designed to match the look and scale of the White House, including its height and architectural style, calling it a tribute to the historic building.
“I think it’ll be the greatest ballroom anywhere in the world,” he said, adding that “it pays total homage to the White House, which is, I think, very important.”

Tent, the word is “tent”. The richest nation on earth used a canvas tent to host state dinners.
Where did they go to use the bathroom? Well, tents don’t have bathrooms, so guests in formal gowns and tuxedos had to leave the climate-controlled tent, sometimes in bad weather, to climb narrow aluminum steps into a trailer to use the bathroom.
In surprising contrast to the elegance of the events, world leaders and dignitaries at tented state dinners were forced to use portable restroom trailers parked on the South Lawn.
Get over it! We all know that anything Trump does will be vilified by the left. Seeing the negative comments just means that those people are getting publicity that they do not deserve. The White House ‘secure command post’ or ‘bunker’ if you want to be crude, is wildly outdated, uses asbestos for thermal insulation, has been patched and plugged with various electronic updates for the last60 years or so. It would cost twenty times as much to update to the modern era if the structures above it remained intact. Since they were also that old, and the White House REALLY needed a ballroom for events rather than a tent and porta-potties, doing both at the same time is win/win.
And of course the Left hates winning, so they are throwing their usual fit with screeching and wild fictional stories.
What’s even more stupid is Trump will likely be out of office by the time it’s done. It’s built for future administrations.

This isn’t “news”. It was reported back in October, when the price suddenly increased, that the Presidential emergency operations center (the bunker) would be upgraded as well. It was long overdue for modernization.
I’m not sure the public needs to be aware of any of this. Does the public need to know how to access the President’s bunker?

Everyone knew that there was a WWII era bunker under the old East Wing and it was reported months ago that this would be receiving a major renovation as part of this project.
So, not news. We already knew.
Note that when President Trump says “its all paid for by donors”, he means the ballroom itself. NOT the bunker under it. As he says, “The military is building….”.
Oh well, it’s not as if it’s at the top of any enemy’s hit list.
