UC-Berkeley Prof Claims Anti-DEI Efforts Rooted in ‘White Male Christian Supremacy’
“The war against ‘woke’ is an ideological battle centered on the principle of white male Christian supremacy, with very significant policy implications”
This talking point just sounds lazy and stupid now. How long is the left going to keep using it?

Anti-DEI efforts rooted in ‘white male Christian supremacy’: UC Berkeley professor
Efforts to combat diversity, equity, and inclusion practices are rooted in “white male Christian supremacy,” a University of California Berkeley professor said during a social sciences panel this week.
The “Building a Post-DEI Future” panel explored how anti-DEI efforts and political backlash against “wokeness” are transforming higher education, according to a news release published on the UC Berkeley Letters & Science webpage.
“The war against ‘woke’ is an ideological battle centered on the principle of white male Christian supremacy, with very significant policy implications,” African American Studies Professor Nikki Jones said.
She said that when students read about systematic oppression for the first time, “it blows their mind.” She hopes her students keep it in mind when they enter the workforce and make decisions that prevent it from continuing.
Andrew Barkett, a political economy alumnus who formerly served as chief technology officer of the Republican National Committee, agreed that the issue comes down to white nationalism.
“DEI became the mascot for a team — the team that said the reign of the white, Anglo-Saxon Protestant needs to end. What’s lost in that disagreement is the middle side,” Barkett said.
He said the side that is “losing its power” is having a “terrible overreaction” and is “lashing out in totally the wrong way.”
However, he said the real debate isn’t between white nationalists and the “woke” left. Rather, the real question is whether the U.S. can still live up to the ideals set forth in the Constitution, “and if there’s a post-DEI concept that helps us perfect our imperfect union.”
Sociology professor Cristina Mora said that turning to DEI sparked important conversations, “but we never did enough for these students in terms of resources and programs.”
She said that DEI officers never had enough resources to do their job, and administrators need to find ways to “increase access.”
The panel also posed the question of whether artificial intelligence created “more inequity.”

Don’t think DEI is dead unfortunately, but it wasn’t the white anglo-saxon male who fought against it; if anything it was Asian Americans denied entrance into elite schools because of not being from a privledged racial class. To run around DEI “white” males and females decided they were 100’s of different genders and sexuality groups, so they could still get the DEI goodies and pretend to be interesting and oppressed. Remember when Brown Uni had more incoming freshman that were gender queer than heterosexual? Yeah that was just a few years ago.
DEI is such a fraud. State of CA banned affirmative action admissions back in 1996. SCOTUS has made that national.
wht male christian supremacy is in facttttt what made the world a great better place and of course america takes the number1 position
show us the “other” non wht christian male societies and how they are doing …did

“DEI became the mascot for a team — the team that said the reign of the white, Anglo-Saxon Protestant needs to end.”
And be replaced by what — a kakistocracy of the unqualified and incompetent?
Can’t wait until all you intellectuals are taken out back and shot like Pol Pot did, so the relatives of Jasmine Crookette, Admiral Rubbermaid, and Karinge Gom-Jabbar can fill your positions and run sum kickass new Learing Centers,
Well, at least we have an answer to “how can a person with record get a job?” I hear that Jasmine is hiring. No background check required.
About par for a DEI Berkeley indoctrination freak to spew.
African-American Studies, like how to amass slaves through tribal wars, and how to be a victim in a foreign land?
The claim isn’t entirely untrue in that it’s the inverse of Wokeness – Woke is anti-White, anti-male, anti-Christian, and anti a bunch of other things.
Leftist logic is that power etc is finite – what one gains, another loses. Thus they seek to steal power from White/males/Christians and transfer it to non-Whites/non-males/non-Christians.
Arguments against Wokeness will thus naturally be pro-White, pro-male, pro-Christian even if none of those things are directly mentioned in anti-Woke arguments because of the Left’s from-to transfer mentality.
“[African American Studies Professor Nikki Jones] said that when students read about systematic oppression for the first time, “it blows their mind.”” Reading about the bubonic plague also blows my mind. But I know that the bubonic plague was a scourge from history. I wish that people who toss around “systemic oppression” or “systemic racism” would be specific about it so that the authorities can press charges. I get the individuals can have a variety of anti-social beliefs. So did James Madison who had human nature in mind when guiding the writing of the Constitution.
This professor is female, not white, she teaches African-American and Gender Studies, and appears not to be terribly sympathetic to Christianity either. While this does not automatically disqualify her assertions, they should be considered in this context.
Grievance/victim studies departments are being shut down across the country largely because fewer state legislatures want to fund these messes anymore. Those departments produced no actual scholarship, brought in zero money or prestige, and produced tons of negative publicity from the academic fraud and scandals they continually propagated. The programs have low enrollment and the degrees are worthless.
