Yale has Shockingly Low Number of Republican Professors

This is probably true of the entire Ivy League. Higher education has a serious problem with political balance.

In his 1951 book “God and Man at Yale,” William F. Buckley, Jr. describes the hypocrisy and partisanship he found at Yale University, even as administrators and professors preached a message of political compromise and freedom of thought.
Nearly 75 years after the book’s publication, Yale University continues to display a one-sided ideological preference toward Democrats, as a new Buckley Institute report revealed that a whopping 27 departments at Yale University appear to employ zero Republican professors.
Out of the 1,335 faculty members reviewed, only 30 were identified as Republican, while 1,099 were identified as Democrats, revealing a stark imbalance in political affiliation among the Ivy League institution’s educators.
“Yale remains an ideologically monolithic campus with an intellectual orthodoxy that makes expressing even mainstream alternative viewpoints challenging,” Lauren Noble, Buckley Institute founder and executive director, told The College Fix.
“As a result, four in ten students report self-censoring, with the heaviest burden falling on Republicans (79% report self-censoring),” she said via email.
The research found that across the Yale Law School, school of management, and the 43 undergraduate departments analyzed, only 2.3 percent of all faculty identified as Republican, while 82.3 percent were Democrats, and 15.4 percent Independents.

Is anybody surprised? Academia has been broken for decades, if not generations.
The Left like to preach one thing, and do the total opposite, reserving all privileges and freedoms to themselves and those they approve of.
Why would a conservative want to teach at a wasp’s nest of woke leftists ?
As a former faculty member of a MA university, I can tell you that there may be more than that paltry number. As a confirmed conservative, I kept my head down, off the radar, and yet was still able to connect with other conservative “moles” across the campus.
Truly though, the numbers are bleak, and the indoctrination of students is massive. We need a purge to equalize the numbers.

Well I was speaking about the professors but I suspect it applies to the students these days too.
Higher education has morphed into higher indoctrination.
More like lower indoctrination considered what is being indoctrinated.
“Mutated” might be a better word….
University faculty has long leaned Democrat, but in decades past there was some actual political diversity among the professoriate. From the 1960s:
A professor put a poster on his door that protested the Vietnam War. Two doors down, another professor put an American flag on his door. The professor in the middle put “Demilitarized Zone” on his door.
