CNN Issues Rare Fact Check on Democrats Over Trump Ballroom Lie

“It’s hard to wrap your mind around it because of how callous it is. But that’s what White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt actually said. Out loud. To press. Proudly.”

Democrats and some in the mainstream press have lost their minds over the demolition work being done on White House grounds for the new ballroom, as evidenced by the meltdowns that commenced after images and video hit social media of parts of the East Wing coming down.

Legal Insurrection reported on the Democrat/media hysteria last week.

“Seeing the White House torn apart is really emblematic of the times we’re in,” Sen. Tina Smith (D-MN) tweeted, even though the White House itself is not being “torn apart.”

“No president should be able to do what trump is doing to the White House right now. He doesn’t own the place,” newly minted Democrat and confirmed Trump hater (and former GOP congressman) Joe Walsh wrote on X. “WE do. It’s OUR house. We’re just letting him live there for four years. He can’t tear down walls and sh*t. It’s OUR house.”

As the week wore on, the more peeved the Usual Suspects got. And on Thursday, they pounced and seized on a video clip of White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt seemingly saying during the daily press briefing that the ballroom was President Donald Trump’s “main priority” period.

Many Democrat members of Congress also shared the clip along with thoughts similar to Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s, as did California Gov. Gavin Newsom:

The problem here, though, is that Leavitt was specifically discussing the possibility of future White House renovations, not Trump’s overall priorities, as anyone who actually watched the exchange in the video— instead of relying on the predictably misleading translations from Meidas Touch senior digital editor Acyn Torabi — would have known.

It was so flagrant that CNN “fact checker” Daniel Dale even went so far as to set the record straight, especially after Democrats began sharing an even shorter version of the clip that completely left out the context of Leavitt’s remarks:

A reporter asked press secretary Karoline Leavitt at a Thursday briefing: “In addition to the ballroom and the Rose Garden patio, is the president looking at any other renovations or significant kind of projects here at the White House?”

Leavitt responded: “Not to my knowledge, no. But he’s a builder at heart, clearly. And so his heart and his mind is always churning about how to improve things here on the White House grounds. But at this moment in time, of course, the ballroom is really the president’s main priority.”

So Leavitt was clearly referring to the planned new ballroom as Trump’s main priority for White House renovations. But on social media, various Democratic members of Congress have cut out the first part of the exchange to make it sound like she was saying the ballroom was Trump’s overall main priority.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) also shared the deliberately shortened version:

When you’re a Democrat and you’ve lost Daniel Dale, even for just a moment, you know you’ve done wrong.

Democrats lie. It’s what they do.

So is anyone surprised at the slanted comments? When you lose CNN, you’ve lost, period.

This is fatal news for the idiot Schumer and his “progressive” masters.
As I’ve said before, if you can’t fool CNN, you can’t fool anyone.

This ignores what history has shown. Millions of poorly educated live by headlines alone and to them, this all they will ever hear or see. Dems know this and use it 24/7. We who use many avenues of information see the rebuke right away and many of us saw the original quote live, but we are the minority.

And Democrats will really go barking dog mad, when Republicans by the millions step up to complete the ballroom with furniture, tableware, linens, et cetera.

Schmuck Schumer (or, more accurately, his Twitter-posting staffer) thinks it’s allegedly “cool” for a sitting U.S. Senator to drop expletives, in his “tweets.”

“You can’t make this shit up.”

Oh, how edgy! How cool!

The Schmuck is still going to lose his senate seat to Occasional-Cortex.

I’ve not seen this much sniveling since Nancy Reagan and the China (place settings)-Gate incident.

Eric Swalwell is demanding that the next Democrat Presidential candidate promise to take a wrecking ball to the Ballroom on day one (if elected). The Democrats have really lost it. All they function on is TDS and hate of Conservatives. The only way I can see them returning to Power is through cheating or armed Insurrection.

Swalwell (and his voters) are so stupid that he is now an honorary (as if any honor were associated) AWFL. Each statement from Swalwell is more stupid than the last. Every time he reaches peak stupidity he goes beyond. His Chinese handler Fang Fang must have required a lobotomy to try and forget the time she was forced by her handlers to associate and (gag) sleep with him.

You give voters far too much credit for sanity.

‘I don’t really care, Margaret’ is my default response to any leftist temper tantrum.

Dems should be glad he didn’t tear down the West Wing, otherwise the reruns would have to be cancelled. (A little Dem logic there).

Would not be surprising if Democrats do tear it down if they get the chance. What’s $250 mil to them? They are threatening to go after people already, so why not another building? The lunacy seems to have no bounds.

Personally I’m glad to see that the president has found something to do while the government is shut and headed to the holidays. Not sure what the opposition has found to do at this time. I can see that the president still has a lot on his plate, like going to Malaysia, to help peace there.

Was comment at 1:54 p.m. not approved? Something seems off here.

Dems lie and lie always. I do not watch MSM so anything on CNN is not seen by me. Nothing Trump does is good by any Left person no matter if it helps any American citizen.

Oh I have a friend who when I mentioned that Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Biden had all talked about the need for the ballroom his answer was well they just were not willing to steal from SNAP to fund it. He really thinks all the funds for the ballroom are money from cuts to SNAP. I spent time searching and cannot find any news articles from anyone that say the money is coming from SNAP. They all pretty consistently say donations. No idea where he gets this stuff.

Only a mentally ill person would think of the White House as our house any more than the FBI building, Treasury Building, or any other publicly owned facility. Apparently some public figures will say anything that furthers their idea that they are relevant to anything. Legal Insurrection needs a section containing irrelevant public comments. It likely be the one most filled.

Democrat politicians and their MSM shills are obviously competing fiercely for attention from their shrinking core constituencies of terminal TDSers and the low information Blue Dog voters still gullible enough to listen. The rest of the country has moved on,
