PA Sen. John Fetterman Congratulates President Trump on Hostage Release
“The nightmare finally ends. May the hostages have a full recovery and may we never forget those who didn’t make it out alive. Credit to @POTUS for a breakthrough ceasefire of this awful war”
The now-famously pro-Israel Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) has been one of the few members of his party not only to strongly support the Jewish state, but also to openly congratulate President Trump on the release of the remaining hostages.
This should not have been a difficult move for any of the Democrats, but their petty hatred of Trump seems to override all things.
FOX News reports:
Fetterman marks release of last living hostages: ‘The nightmare finally ends’
Democratic Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania marked the release of the remaining living hostages held by Hamas, the terror group that perpetrated the heinous October 7, 2023, attack in Israel.
He credited President Donald Trump with helping to negotiate the peace agreement that led to the release of the captives kidnapped during the attack.
“The nightmare finally ends. May the hostages have a full recovery and may we never forget those who didn’t make it out alive. Credit to @POTUS for a breakthrough ceasefire of this awful war,” Fetterman noted in his post on X.
Fetterman began his post with a quote from former hostage Eli Sharabi, who was released back in February. That two-word quote, “Now, life,” comes from Sharabi’s memoir, “Hostage.”
Fetterman has been a steadfast and ardent supporter of Israel in the wake of the horrific 2023 attack and the war that followed.
“I congratulate @POTUS on this historic peace plan that releases all the hostages. Now, enduring peace in the region is possible. Our parties are different but we have a shared ironclad commitment to Israel and its people,” he noted in a post on X last week.

“Now, life.” – Eli Sharabi, former hostage, on resilience and optimism.
The nightmare finally ends.
May the hostages have a full recovery and may we never forget those who didn’t make it out alive.

After the October 7th attacks, Fetterman put up posters of the missing and those taken hostage in his office.
Note how Newsweek chose to cover that:
John Fetterman’s Latest Israel Move Sparks Fury
Democratic Senator John Fetterman is facing a backlash on social media after he revealed that he is displaying posters of people held hostage by Hamas in his office.
Fetterman, who represents Pennsylvania, shared a video to X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday showing the posters and was met with angry responses from other users on the site.
In October 7, Hamas led the deadliest Palestinian militant attack on Israel in history. Israel subsequently launched its heaviest-ever air strikes on Gaza and then sent in ground forces. An estimated 240 people are being held hostage by Hamas, according to the Associated Press (AP).
As of Tuesday, the Gaza Health Ministry reported that 10,022 people had been killed including 4,100 children, according to figures cited by AP.
“In my front office I have displayed the posters of the innocent Israelis kidnapped by Hamas,” Fetterman wrote on X on Tuesday.
“They will stay up until every single person is safely returned home,” he added.

We can disagree with Senator Fetterman on policy, but he is obviously a decent man.

A stroke can permanently rearrange mental pathways through a process called neuroplasticity. This is how the brain naturally compensates for damaged areas by creating new neural connections to reroute functions—as for example: from Democrat way of thinking to Republican way of thinking.
Look back in his history, has he always supported Isreal
A liberating near-death experience: “Fetterman has said that his near-fatal stroke gave him a different perspective on life and politics. He reportedly felt a sense of liberation and a willingness to say what he genuinely believed was right, without worrying as much about toeing the party line.”
Fetterman’s change: “His intensified his support into an outspoken and unwavering pro-Israel position, putting him at odds with the progressive wing of his party.”
Fetterman has since dismissed the plight of Palestinians, referring to accusations of “ethnic cleansing” and “genocide” as “not the case” and “complete garbage”.
Fetterman no longer backs his party saying he refuses to join calls for a ceasefire, insisting that Hamas must first be neutralized.
On the other hand his two brain surgeries never helped Biden in anyway.
The main downside was the cotton stuffing used to fill his empty cranium made him feel light-headed.
Sorry, Paula. I saw the movie. It was straw.
Biden lacked all three. No brains, no heart, and no courage. Hollywood could have saved money by just casting him in all three roles.
Therefore Biden is a:
a. straw man,
b. scarecrow
c. big dummy
d. puppet, muppet or struppet?
Senate campaign: During his 2022 Senate campaign, Fetterman emphasized his clear support for Israel. Democratic Majority for Israel, a pro-Israel advocacy group, worked with him on a position paper on the issue during that time.
Views prior to October 7, 2023: Those who followed Fetterman’s career state that his pro-Israel position did not begin with the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack. Sources suggest it was always understood that he was a supporter of Israel.
“After the October 7th attacks, Fetterman put up posters of the missing and those taken hostage in his office.”
This is true. I visited Fetterman’s Capitol Hill office not long after the October 7th atrocity and not only were the posters there, they were in the lobby where they could not be missed.
Fetterman is an odd duck with his entirely inappropriate dress code (I wouldn’t dare visit a congressional office without wearing a suit & tie) and contradictory stances on the issues. And the fact that he was a complete mess after his stroke just added to the enigma. But there’s no doubt he’s a patriot and I think eventually he’ll wind up switching parties.
“(I wouldn’t dare visit a congressional office without wearing a suit & tie)”
I would. They work for me; I don’t work for them.
That’s why I want to dress like the boss. 😉
Remember: Fetterman is the name of the doctor who created him… 🙂
I congratulate Fetterman for congratulating Trump.
He’s one of those fellows I’d like to have lunch with. Same with Senator Kennedy. The one from Louisiana, not the drunken sot even if he were still alive.
Agreed.
I congratulate you for congratulating Fetterman for congratulating Trump.
I congratulate you for ,,,.. me ,,, Fetterman … Trump.
I am very curious – Was Fetterman elected as a (thought to have been extinct) moderate Democrat or has he moved away from the desires of those who elected him?
In short: what are his odds of re-election bucking the national party as he has been doing?
Don’t forget that he was running against Dr. Oz last time, who was a terrible candidate.
“Our parties are different but we have a shared ironclad commitment to Israel and its people,”
The antecedent of “we” is unclear.
Ya know, I kinda like the guy, as at least a counter to the insane Prog power grab the last decade or 2. But how the heck dd he get my email for sending me fundraising appeals?
