Anti-Israel Protesters at Case Western Forced to Pay $350,000 in Vandalism Charges
“They dumped and smeared gallons of red paint over multiple buildings, walkways, outdoor tables, an electrical pole, and on a statue of retired chemistry professor”
If more of these students faced these kinds of penalties, we would have less of this bad behavior.
The College Fix reports:
Pro-Palestinian activists at Case Western shell out $350,000 to settle vandalism charges
Nearly a dozen Case Western Reserve University students and activists charged for their roles in widespread anti-Israel vandalism on campus have paid more than $350,000 in restitution to clear their names, Axios Cleveland reported Tuesday.
“The payments are part of a legal agreement with the Cuyahoga County prosecutor’s office under the pre-trial diversion program. If all stipulations are met, the defendants’ criminal records will be cleared,” the outlet reported. “…Three of the students still face expulsion via university conduct proceedings running parallel to the legal case.”
The resolution comes after an Ohio grand jury indicted the 11 pro-Palestinian protesters in February for their alleged role in causing major damage to Case Western Reserve University during a November 2024 protest over the Israel-Hamas war.
According to a statement from the prosecutor’s office: “They split into two groups and vandalized both the north and south sides of campus. They dumped and smeared gallons of red paint over multiple buildings, walkways, outdoor tables, an electrical pole, and on a statue of retired chemistry professor ‘Doc Oc’ — causing $400,000 in damages.”
In response to the agreement, the “CWRU 11,” a name given to the group by those sympathetic to their cause, made a public statement that the legal system tried “to scare us into silence.” They have also claimed the $400,000 figure is inflated.

I am curious about who is paying the money.
Bottom line: The crooks got a get out of jail free card.
GoFundMe
three grand apiece to clear their (very clearly) criminal conduct
Hell!! That’s not even what i’d call “cheap”, maybe 1/10th of year’s tuition
that’s what I call a a “gimme”
no reason for them not to go out and do it all again tomorrow
wait ’til they kill a Jewish-American student there for the crimes he (didn’t) commit in Palestine: maybe they’ll even lower the punishment to a $1000.

“I ran outta gas. I had a flat tire. I didn’t have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn’t come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from outta town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake, a terrible flood, locusts. It wasn’t my fault! I swear to God!”
Any involved in such destructive vandalism should be expelled.
Nip this nonsense in the bud, and show that there are consequences. I am tired of all the coddling and kowtowing.
Qatar can afford it.
Any one of those 11 who received a donation to help them pay that restitution and/or fine should have to pay taxes on it. I do hope Trump has the IRS, and the State of Ohio has their income tax people all on that case.
