ICE Agents Boxed In, Attacked Near Chicago Amid Growing Unrest
“One of the drivers accused of ramming into the law enforcement vehicle was armed with a semi-automatic weapon.”
Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents were ambushed today in Broadview, Illinois, after being “boxed in by ten vehicles,” one of which contained an armed suspect, as anti-ICE protests around the local processing center intensified, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
This morning, during routine patrolling in Broadview, in the same area of Chicago that law enforcement were assaulted yesterday, our brave law enforcement officers were rammed by vehicles and boxed in by 10 cars.
Agents were unable to move their vehicles and exited the car. One…

“Federal agents were rammed and boxed in by 10 cars in Broadview, Ill., where anti-U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) crowds have been gathering for days,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin confirmed.
McLaughlin’s post also issued a dire warning about the lack of local cooperation:
“Pritzker’s Chicago Police Department is leaving the shooting scene and refuses to assist us in securing the area. There is a growing crowd, and we are deploying special operations to control the scene.”
She added that ICE agents were forced to abandon their vehicles under fire:
“One of the drivers accused of ramming into the law enforcement vehicle was armed with a semi-automatic weapon,” McLaughlin said. “Officers were forced to deploy their weapons and fire defensive shots at an armed U.S. citizen.”
The armed suspect, identified as a U.S. citizen previously named in a CBP intelligence bulletin, had reportedly incited violence online, posting:
“Hey to all my gang let’s f— those motherf—— up, don’t let them take anyone.”
No law enforcement officers were seriously injured, but McLaughlin said the situation remains “rapidly evolving.”
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem denounced the attack and announced an immediate federal response:
Today in Chicago, members of our brave law enforcement were attacked—rammed and boxed in by ten vehicles, including an attacker with a semi-automatic weapon.
I am deploying more special operations to control the scene. Reinforcements are on their way.
If you see a law…

If you see a law enforcement officer today, thank them.”
The Broadview ICE facility has become a flashpoint for unrest, underscoring escalating tensions between federal agents and local officials as Washington moves to reassert control over sanctuary jurisdictions.

Someone needs to do some weapons training.
Nothing a higher volume of fire won’t solve.
TTP gonna need to evolve very quickly. IMO this was a deliberate action undertaken to test/probe what the response by ICE would be. Given the context of ambushed LEO, the hyped up violent rhetoric and actions there’s no way ICE can remain passive with vehicles attempting to block them in. Sooner or later that will turn into ICE being fired upon while surrounded.
reminiscent of south africa
Given the prior incident of ICE vehicles being fired upon, this looks like a test to see response. In this context, boxing in the vehicles should be treated as a deadly threat, and deadly response would be justified.
Aside from pursuing law enforcement against those involved, a proper response would be a reallocation of resources to this location, including increased enforcement, as well as potentially calling in the national guard to protect those involved.
Make clear that these sorts of things won’t be tolerated, and made worse for the locals that pursue them.
uhh ICE- you have the freaking Monopoly on violence.
’bout time to use it.
The story says the ICE agents fired at her not that they hit her. It also doesn’t say if she was arrested or not or if she even fired at them only that she had the firearm.
For them to have fired, she must have displayed the firearm in a threatening manner. LE doesn’t usually fire at someone who merely possess a firearm. Even if already in the hand, if the gun is down, commands to drop the gun come first. To just fire, without warning, as suggested here, means she likely aimed a firearm at them. That’s when anyone should expect to get fired up.
Ah… but CBS said ICE shot the armed woman… not mentioning less than lethal. Nothing like stoking the fires with half truths.
Poking the bear.
I read elsewhere she drove herself to the hospital.
If they used less-lethal weapons they need retraining.
Just shoot to kill. They are knowingly attacking federal agents. That makes them insurrectionists, They deserve no quarter. Put them down.
The left is really hoping for this so they can stoke the insurrection to be even hotter.
I don’t see this ending peacefully.
Agreed, not peacefully. But I don’t really see the left coming out on top, either.
Neither does the left… ever, historically speaking. No reason to think it would be different this time.
Hope and pray, sure, but don’t make the deadly mistake of thinking it will.
If they’re killed, that ruins their day. Let them live, arrest and try them, and their lives can be ruined. Much better.
try them in federal court. that means a district court judge and most likely a progressive one which means no conviction.
The process is the punishment. Go full bore, over charge them if necessary. Subject her to the maximum possible psychological stress. The entire idea is to make it unpleasant enough that they feel they’ve been punished no matter the outcome of the trial. The purpose is to make it less likely they will do something similar again.
Nah. Less mouths to feed, less liability to deal with. No scandalous mistreatment in facilities, no escapes, no releases coming back to bite us in the ass later.
It’s not about ruining their days or lives — it’s about preventing them from (further) ruining ours.
Were all of the drivers taken into custody? Or at least identified for arrest later?
Up until now, ICE has been playing very gently with the terrorists who violently oppose them. I think that if they don’t become considerably less gentle, they’re going to have some agent skilled soon. That would be a bad thing.
It is long past time for the gloves to come off federal law enforcement. Anyone perceived to be threatening the use of deadly force against federal LEO’s should be shot. Any accessories should be arrested and prosecuted.
Agreed. There’s no “walking things back,” unless we want to cede victory to these a**holes.
It is time for the GOP/conservatives to accurately label and characterize the vile, stupid and evil Dhimmi-crat Party as the party of domestic criminals, illegal alien criminals, domestic terrorists and foreign terrorists.
The Antifa Anarchists want a Civil War II
The Democrat party wants a civil war.
Again.
A semi-automatic weapon. Ooh, scary, the most common type of weapon in the world.
This is getting deadly serious. If someone surrounds your car and you feel threatened, shoot to kill. That includes police officers because they want to go home at the end of the day too. Those people are giving you no choice
an ancient tactic—immobilize and surround—should have realized it much sooner
ice needs to show these folks just once what happens when fools show up armed (and a vehicle is a lethal weapon) and threaten law enforcement—just once is all it will take
The immediate reaction needs to be firearms out and pointed at drivers. At a minimum there should be brown spots on their underwear. If anything escalates at all, then start shooting the accomplices (drivers).
