Manchester: Two Killed in Terror Attack at UK Synagogue on Yom Kippur
The terror attack took place on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish religious calendar.
Two people were reportedly murdered and three others were wounded when a terrorist rammed his car and stabbed Jewish worshippers outside a synagogue in the British city of Manchester. The attacker drove his car into the congregants standing outside the synagogue and then began stabbing them, eyewitnesses say.
The deadly attack came on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, which is the holiest day in the Jewish religious calendar. The attack comes amid a rise in antisemitic attacks and incidents since the Hamas-led October 7 massacre.

The policemen took out the knife-wielding terrorist at the scene. The attacker wore a dark-colored vest, raising concerns that he had an explosive on him.
“A loud controlled explosion has just been heard at the police cordon in Crumpsall,” the BBC reported. “The bomb disposal unit are understood to be at the scene.”

The Telegraph newspaper reported:
A suspected terrorist who killed two people at a Manchester synagogue has been pictured wearing what appears to be a bullet proof vest and a possible bomb.
The man, who was shot dead by police moments after launching the attack, targeted worshippers at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation shortly before 09:30am.
Two people were killed in the car and knife attack, which took place on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.
Three others are in a serious condition, Greater Manchester Police said. (…)
Footage circulating on social media shows two armed police officers shouting at the suspect as he lies on the ground after being shot.
The two firearms officers are then seen shouting at members of the public to “get back, he has got a bomb”.
Moments later, the suspect attempts to get to his feet before officers shout a warning and gun shots ring out.

Following the attack, British authorities were beefing up police presence near synagogues. “Police vehicles have been seen near a synagogue in central London. It comes as police forces across the country are making efforts to reassure Jewish communities,” The Independent (UK) reported.
Since October 7, 2023, London, Manchester, and other British cities have witnessed larger pro-Hamas demonstrators, with Islamist and British leftists calling to “Globalize the intifada,” a reference to waves of Palestinian suicide attacks against Jews and Israelis between 1987-1993 and 2000-2005. Thursday’s synagogue attack shows what a ‘globalized intifada’ looks like.
The attack takes place against the backdrop of the appeasement policy adopted by Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s government. Instead of standing up to pro-Hamas rioters, Prime Minister Starmer has chosen to placate them by recognizing the ‘Palestinian State’ while Hamas holds hostages and wages war against Israel.

I was astounded, when I first learned several years ago, that most British police officers don’t carry firearms. The “regular” bobbies/fuzz must call in a special, armed unit, to deal with dangerous terrorists and threats.
I think this policy is total insanity, and, whether or not this posture is related to the U.K.’s cowed and submissive descent into self-debasing and self-destructive dhimmitude, under the Islamofascist bootheel, or, it preceded it, it’s a sign of Britain’s total emasculation and leftist/Marxist/Labour/”socialist”-inflicted cultural and moral rot.
Preceded it by a longshot. Bobbies had long not carried firearms. The “special police units” that do carry them are a relatively recent development in British policing.

This may come as a surprise to you, but you have no authority to decree that all Jewish holidays are “equally holy”.
But, on the other hand, maybe you are a learned rabbi or possibly a theologian of long standing.

One of those killed was a security guard. I must assume he had no firearm if Bobbies can’t carry them. Our conservative synagogue was guarded outside by a former military member in bulletproof gear, and several congregants carried inside.
Last I heard the UK was still a democracy with elections, so they are responsible for allowing these godless heathens and jihadists to impose this insanity. Hard to believe this is the same electorate that produced Iron Lady Thatcher and accomplished Brexit. What the hell happened to them?
