Trump Taps Tammy Bruce for Deputy Representative to the United Nations

The Deputy Representative leads and manages the U.S. mission in New York City, overseeing about 150 employees.

The last time we wrote about Tammy Bruce, the State Department spokesperson had just announced that the U.S. was withdrawing from UNESCO  (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).  The State Department under President Donald Trump is following an “America First” agenda and has clearly decided that being part of an antisemitic/pro-Islamist activist group is not in its “national interest.”

Clearly, Bruce’s work at the State Department has been effective, as Trump has now tapped her to become Deputy Representative for the U.S. at the United Nations.

“Since the beginning of my Second Term, Tammy has been serving with distinction as Spokesperson of the State Department, where she did a fantastic job,” the president said in a Truth Social post.

Bruce will receive the rank of ambassador, Mr. Trump said, if her nomination is confirmed by the Senate.

It’s unclear who will replace Bruce’s position in the State Department.

Mr. Trump has nominated Mike Waltz, his former national security adviser, to be U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. His confirmation has stalled since he testified in his Senate confirmation hearing last month about the administration’s foreign policy and his plans for the role if he is confirmed.

Bruce’s appointment will have to be confirmed by the US Senate before proceeding.

Ms. Bruce was a political commentator and a contributor to Fox News for more than 20 years before joining the Trump administration. She had been a longtime organizer for the Democratic Party before breaking away to “expose and help defeat the leftist agenda,” according to her website. She has written several books criticizing the American left.

Her nomination for the role, which requires Senate confirmation, comes weeks after the confirmation hearing of Michael Waltz, Mr. Trump’s former national security adviser, to serve as U.S. ambassador to the U.N.

Mr. Trump nominated Mr. Waltz in May after Mr. Waltz stepped down from the national security role, where he faced intense scrutiny earlier this year for a group chat on Signal in which senior officials discussed sensitive details of a military operation in Yemen. His nomination is still awaiting Senate confirmation.

This is a very prestigious position. The U.S. Deputy Representative assists the U.S. Ambassador in representing the country in U.N. deliberations, especially in the Security Council, and advises top American leaders (like Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio) on U.N.-related policy matters. The Deputy Representative also leads and manages the U.S. mission in New York City, overseeing about 150 employees.

Many Legal Insurrection readers became fans of Tammy Bruce when she had a talk show in the Los Angeles area. She is a patriot who will certainly put our national interests first when she gets there.

Many others think likewise:

Let’s hope the Senate speeds up the appointment process considerably when it gets back from the August recess.

And, perhaps she will enjoy more promotions during this administration and the next ones.

The good thing is I had no idea which means her identify isn’t built around being gay, unlike most of the previous administrations appointments 🙄

It’s the same as people who follow a vegan diet, but don’t feel the need to inform everyone within five minutes of meeting them, and only mention it if it happens to come up in conversation, or it becomes relevant, e.g. when making dinner plans.

        Ditto for cyclists.

Congratulations to Tammy! Give them hell!

All I would like for Ms. Bruce to do is call an office supply store and order enough boxes to pack out the UN offices and close them up.
