Democrats Gaslight About LA’s Drug-Infested MacArthur Park After Immigration Sweeps

Democrats Gaslight About LA’s Drug-Infested MacArthur Park After Immigration Sweeps

“MacArthur Park is not a war zone. It is a playground, a picnic spot, a community spot. But you wouldn’t know that looking at it now. Why send armed agents to terrorize a community?”

https://x.com/MayorOfLA/status/1942296116378362055

Earlier this week, federal agents conducted an immigration sweep in the MacArthur Park section of Los Angeles in what was described as a joint operation in an area known to have a significant MS-13 presence.

Feckless Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D), who had previously demanded such operations stop and who has refused to work with federal law enforcement, rushed to the park not long after, demanding to speak to whoever she needed to try and put a halt to their operation. Not surprisingly, mask-wearing anti-ICE activists also joined in for some “peaceful protesting”:

After the mayor’s unsuccessful attempt at stopping the operation, she took to the X machine to express outrage that it was taking place in an area where “more than 20 kids were playing”:

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) also proclaimed that there was no reason for “armed agents to terrorize a community” considering MacArthur Park “is not a war zone. It is a playground, a picnic spot, a community spot”:

The problem here is that the people who have actually lived, worked in, and/or visited LA and who are fed up with the lies and lawlessness are telling a much different story and have been for months:

TikTok user “homanardalan,” who described himself as a native Los Angelian who lives in downtown LA and knows the city well, absolutely went off (language warning):

“Now Karen Bass and Gavin Newsom are super-upset. Why is ICE and military presence at MacArthur Park? Now let me tell you, MacArthur Park is a sh*thole. It is a drug-infested sh*thole. It is one of the most dangerous, sketchy parks that you could possibly go to. Even driving by MacArthur Park feels dangerous, okay? I’m not exaggerating.

Ask anybody who lives in LA, and they will tell you the same. It is literally infested with people who look like zombies and dope dealers standing there literally selling drugs right in front of you, nonstop. And the city of Los Angeles does nothing about this. Gov. Gavin Newsom does nothing about this, okay?

MacArthur Park is a safety hazard. It is a danger zone. It is a park that is so bad it should probably be shut down and turned into something else. That is how unsafe that park is. So, is it appropriate for ICE and military presence to show up at MacArthur Park and scare everybody off? Absolutely. Absolutely. It should have been done a long, long time ago.”

Watch:

In other words, Democrats are flat out lying to you about MacArthur Park. I know. Shocking, right?

MacArthur’s Park is melting in the dark.

Another day begins at LI without a peep about the furor over the Trump/Bondi/Patel/Bondino cover-up of the Epstein files. Just about every other political/news site has noted that those files still existed a few months ago, when Bondi said that she had the client list on her desk. Why, then, are LI contributors not asking what happened to it?

oden in reply to moonmoth. | July 11, 2025 at 9:04 am

Indeed! This is a big story, and has the potential to reveal how our government by blackmail actually functions. Why does LI continue to ignore this very important topic? Afraid of something? I’m also disappointed in Andrew Branca who insults his readers by calling them “emotional” about Epstein. I was all set to become a platinum member, now I might disconnect from his show. The same goes for LI. If it continues silence then I will disconnect. Of course LI is free to cover or not cover what it wants. Similarly we are free to ignore it.

Guys, I don’t know about y’all but when someone keeps insisting I ‘must take X action’ I tend to dig my heels in, get incredibly stubborn and become aggressively unhelpful to whatever the person attempting to bully me wants. Maybe give LI some space and some grace for a hopefully forthcoming, well researched, comprehensive article or series of them v a less reliable, shoot from the hip hot take. There’s plenty of hot takes floating around to occupy yourself until then.

That said the refusal by the Administration to adequately explain and release information re Epstein visitors, contacts, associates, friends who went to Pedo Island is flipping stupid. Release the names including those possessed by Maxwell and those ID on any video footage, even those only observed on an ATM video standing next to Epstein on a random encounter, but especially those who committed criminal acts with underage children.

If there’s exculpatory evidence release that as well so we end up with categories:
      1. Fully ID person who committed criminal acts with a minor child
      2. Masked or unknown person who committed criminal acts with a minor child
      3. Frequent visitors to Pedo Island but without any direct evidence of wrongdoing
      4. One time visitors without any evidence of wrongdoing

Same for other properties. Same for financial ties to Epstein. Same for Friends/associates/acquaintances. If there’s a name and no evidence of wrongdoing put it out. Same for evidence of wrongdoing. Finally they should work with editors to disguise the faces of the victims in any video evidence of wrongdoing and release the images/footage of the acts to the public. Let everyone see for themselves what depravity was occurring and let the public decide how to react to it in the total context.

“Maybe give LI some space.” LI has had 3+ days to at least make note of the furor.

        Instead, crickets.

moonmoth in reply to CommoChief. | July 11, 2025 at 10:27 am

Or put differently, are you really insinuating that LI contributors are keeping silent about this raging controversy out of a childish, personal pique at being pestered about it?

I am suggesting that I hope the space and the grace we extend to LI contributors will be repaid with a well researched article, series about this saga.

Childish? Nope. Children are required to follow the directives/demands of the Adults, to adhere to the requirements and expectations set by the grown-ups responsible for them.

LI staff ain’t your children and are not required to follow your dictates, your wishes or guidance. I’m suggesting you stop acting like some petulant child incessantly making demands of LI to comport to your desires. It’s coming across like a toddler stomping his feet in the cereal aisle demanding sugar smacks from his Parents and pitching a bigger fit by the minute.

To Commo Chief: Your straw-man is noted: “LI staff ain’t your children and are not required to follow your dictates, your wishes or guidance.”

I never said that they’re required to do so. Meanwhile, if you can take a break from making excuses for them, you’ll see that Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch is accusing Trump’s DOJ of evading FOIA requests about the Epstein files:

          moonmoth,

Not making excuses simply saying give them some space and some grace to produce an informative article v a rushed hit take that parallels the rest of the slop sloshing around. A lesson I learned in 26+ years in the Army was to always give your leadership the space and the opportunity to fail before you start getting distraught. Sometimes they’re already working on a fix behind the scenes, often their boss is the obstacle …other times they’re ignoring it hoping it goes away…but by granting space/opportunity for them to fail you’ve given them the opportunity to succeed.

You’ve referred to the publicly available info so it isn’t as if the Trump Administration’s unforced error about what to release/not release from Epstein/Maxwell info is not already available as a hot take. Personally I’d prefer a more thoughtful, reasoned approach than the hot take ‘instant gratification’ get something out NOW even if it is error ridden style of media.

At the the end of the day we are all guests of LI….even those of us who make serious financial contributions. It belongs to them not us and they make the editorial decisions and decisions on what topics to publish. That said I would be disappointed if we didn’t eventually see a serious article or three on this story here at LI, but I can be patient.

One thing that is absolutely certain about the Epstein list (if it exists) is that Trump is not on it, or that would have come out long, long ago.

I can easily imagine that the list (again, if it exists) might have world figures on it of such prominence that its release might destabilize governments, etc. While some would clearly relish such a scenario, I couldn’t fault others who might wish to avoid that.

moonmoth in reply to geecheeboy. | July 11, 2025 at 10:15 am

Regarding the possibility of destabilizing govt’s, the US has absolutely reveled in doing that, and crowed about it, for decades. So which govt’s rich pedophiles is Trump protecting so that they can go on victimizing little girls?

E Howard Hunt in reply to oden. | July 11, 2025 at 10:29 am

When a story is so big and dirty that it could actually bring down the establishment, most won’t cover it and those that do will be eventually pressured into silence. I am often mocked for bringing up Obama’s birth. Dostoevsky- “without God, everything is permitted.” E Hunt- “After the Obama installation, any massive deception is doable.”

In terms of importance, this is about a 2 on a scale of 1-10. I’m far more interested in uncovering who was calling the shots and deploying the autopen during Biden’s term.

moonmoth in reply to oden. | July 11, 2025 at 1:53 pm

Perhaps the explanation is that LI contributors and comment-section regulars are REAL Americans. You know — the kind who realize that Leftist weirdos will “trans” our little boys if Trump doesn’t let warmongers go on raping our little girls.

The ‘clinton foundation’ had the files sanitized around the same the prison guards were taking a nap when epstein supposedly killed himself.

moonmoth in reply to smooth. | July 11, 2025 at 3:19 pm

Then what was it that Bondi said was on her desk, and that she was going to release? Another question is why Trump rushed in to answer the question (which was directed to her) about Epstein’s involvement with foreign and domestic intel services.

During the Battle of Manilla Bay in the Spanish-American War, Commodore George Dewey told Captain Charles Vernon Gridley, “You may fire when ready, Gridley.”

He did. The American fleet routed the Spanish that day.

You may fire when ready, Bondi—Patel—Donald Trump.

The park is literally right across the street from the mexican consulate. That explains a lot.

I want to see every dramacrat politician complaining about this at a rally in the park. Newscome, Bassomatic, Swallow, Pencil neck, Lieu, Waters, UberBoy, everyone. Come on you simps. Hold a rally in the wonderful park and show us how nice it is.

When they cleaned up San Francisco in advance of chairman Xi’s visit, I wonder on a scale of 0 to 10 how much that activity resembled an ICE raid?
