Who are these “unexpected heavy hitters” — they are neither unexpected nor heavy hitters.
You’ve probably heard the saying, even a blind squirrel finds a nut.
Democrats are running around like blind squirrels trying to find a nut to stop Trump 2.0. We wrote about one of the first efforts in You Won’t Believe Dems’ Plan To Win Back Male Voters (Actually, Yes You Will)
The prospectus for one new $20 million effort, obtained by The Times, aims to reverse the erosion of Democratic support among young men, especially online. It is code-named SAM — short for “Speaking with American Men: A Strategic Plan” — and promises investment to “study the syntax, language and content that gains attention and virality in these spaces.” It recommends buying advertisements in video games, among other things.
Politico Magazine ran an article today with a Plan B: “21 Unexpected Heavy Hitters for a Democratic Shadow Cabinet – Here’s who the party should tap to take on Trump and refresh the Democratic brand.”
As Democrats cast about for a strategy to thwart President Donald Trump’s agenda, rebrand their party and take back power, Sen. Elissa Slotkin recently offered one intriguing idea: Build a shadow Cabinet.
The shadow Cabinet, as envisioned by the Michigan Democrat in an interview with POLITICO, could be composed of the ranking members of congressional committees who could then take the lead in challenging the Trump administration. It’s a common feature of opposition politics abroad and could be a way for Democrats to flood the media zone and deliver a coordinated response to Trump’s most wild maneuvers. But … ranking members?
So who are the heavy hitters?
So how best to assemble a shadow Cabinet? Tap accomplished people with the ability to speak plainly and the credibility to puncture the Trump administration’s often Orwellian narratives. Don’t limit members to professional politicians. Pitch a big tent. Don’t draw rigid ideological lines.
What would such a shadow Cabinet look like? If you gave me the power to appoint, here are my fighters:

David and his pals fingered Jill Biden’s Chief of Staff, Anthony Bernal, as one of “the inner circle that was around Biden” — a “scary,” “shadowy, Wizard of Oz type figure” who “wielded an enormous amount of power… I can’t stress to you how much power he had at the White House.”

Samantha Power helped orchestrate the overthrow of a Democratically elected government in Ukraine, because Obama did not like the pro Russian leader (Ukraine was pretty much an evenly spliyt country) and Biden couldn’t profit under that leader. Result? Pro Russian paramilitaries backed by Russia invade the largely ethnic Russian Eastern provinces UNDER OBAMA and the Russian military annexing (the largely Russian) Crimea. Trump in office sent LETHAL AID (Obama sent medicaL KITS) to Ukraine and no further Russian incursion. BIDEN takes office and the Russians invade, no doubt THEIR INTEL SERVICES accurately gaged his lack of cognitive capacity and also had the evidence of his graft. The whole thing is what is known as ‘blowback’ the entire Ukraine wear caused by Obama and Powers going to USAID proof enough that organization, when not pushing Leftist social ideology around the world, is a slush fund for the CIA & others to use covertly.

Also for President Ford. I’m not sure what he is doing on the list although he was Valedictorian of his Yale Law School Class so maybe that’s it? I think he still teaches law and economics and securities law at Pepperdine and is a speaker at YAF events. Most likely the most accomplished and solid guy on that list although why he is listed as trade rep not commerce is a mystery. I doubt he is interested in such a thing, anyways.

He includes Stein because Stein is a staunch opponent of tariffs… from a libertarian perspective, not for any other reason. The author is abusing Stein as a cheap one-trick pony, which he most definitely isn’t. It’s ultimately self-defeating — like deciding that your group needs a super-persuasive communicator, and hiring Adolf for the position.
