Democratic Party Hits Record-Low Favorability in CNN Poll
Among the American public overall, the Democratic Party’s favorability rating stands at just 29% – a record low in CNN’s polling dating back to 1992.

The Democratic Party is facing a historic collapse in public perception, with a new CNN poll showing its favorability rating at an all-time low. As President Joe Biden struggles to rally his base and independents grow increasingly disenchanted, Democrats find themselves in a precarious position heading into the 2024 election.
Among the American public overall, the Democratic Party’s favorability rating stands at just 29% – a record low in CNN’s polling dating back to 1992 and a drop of 20 points since January 2021, when Trump exited his first term under the shadow of the January 6 attack on the Capitol. The Republican Party’s rating currently stands at 36%.
The numbers paint a dire picture for Democrats, whose standing with the public has plummeted over the last three years. While still trying to capitalize on public outrage following the Capitol riot, the party has instead seen its brand erode to unprecedented depths. While the GOP’s rating is hardly stellar, Republicans are at least faring better than their Democratic counterparts—despite their own struggles with internal divisions and controversies.
Even within their own ranks, Democratic voters are showing signs of waning enthusiasm.
Just 63% of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents report a favorable view of their own party, a dip from 72% in January and 81% at the start of President Joe Biden’s administration.
This downward trajectory suggests serious morale and messaging issues within the Democratic coalition as Donald Trump continues to browbeat and outmaneuver Democrats at every turn. In contrast, Republican voters remain more loyal to their party.
By contrast, 79% of Republicans and Republican leaners currently take a positive view of the GOP.
The polling also underscores the outright rejection of both major parties by independents, a crucial voting bloc.
Political independents as a group take dim views of both parties, with 19% rating the Democrats favorably and 20% saying the same of the Republicans.
Perceptions of extremism are further fueling the public’s disenchantment.
Political independents remain likelier to see the Republicans as out of the mainstream – 57% call the GOP too extreme, while 48% say the same of the Democrats. But 16% of Democrats call their own party too extreme, while just 9% of Republicans say the same of the GOP.
While both parties struggle with perceptions of radicalism, Republicans face a greater challenge among independents. However, Democrats have their own branding issue, as nearly one in six of their own voters believe their party has moved too far left.
With approval ratings at historic lows and growing concerns over party extremism, both Democrats and Republicans face an uphill battle to convince the electorate that they remain the best option for governing. But for Biden and his party, the polling signals a particularly steep climb—one that could define next year’s midterm and control of Congress.

You have to be a concoction of stupid and evil to support the Democrat Party. This was true in 1860, it’s true today. What’s apparent in this poll is that at least 29% of Americans are perfectly happy living under the blanket of rights provided by the constitution, while actively trying to undermine it. I’d prefer it if they’d just move north of the border with the rest of the progressive left.
Democrat Appointed Judge’ and their rulings aren’t doing the democrats any favors.
Quos Deus vult perdere, prius dementat.
I know how Dems can raise their numbers and become more popular. They could stand with a Hamas supporter and protest against his deportation, they could try to stand in the way of the Republicans trying to deport illegal gang members, maybe sue in every left wing district in the country over shutting corrupt government agencies and hold news conferences denouncing people cutting billions from the budget. They might even vote against men in women’s sports, support transing the kids, government paid abortion and holding news conferences denouncing Israel while standing with Hamas. That should all raise their popularity.
Republicans are so extreme! They oppose fraud and theft and terrorism and child mutilation! If only they’d compromise and let Democrats get away with it all!
If conservatives can’t stop the graft, the least they could do is develop their own grifting that supports a pro-America agenda. Why is it that every grift supports an anti-America agenda? If a pro-America grift could be developed, we’d be golden.
Opposing the murder of unborn babies, too — what kind of moral posture is this? It’s outrageously extreme!
The vile, stupid, corrosive, subversive, totalitarian, incompetent and vindictive Dhimmi-crat apparatchiks have earned their poll numbers.
Wonder when the Democrats will decide to burn down a blue city again to regain their popularity?
The Dem’s “unaware and compliant” support is becoming more aware and less compliant.

21% will be rock bottom. Those people will vote D even if it’s a dead goat.
Especially if it’s a dead goat.
We just held a national poll and Trump came out on top.
But democrat media desire a different outcome so it holds biweekly election challenges.
Who edited this post? Are we in a time warp? I’m pretty sure the 2024 election is in the past.

That first paragraph sounded like this was written last fall. The Dems current approval rating is 29%. The Repubs is better but still only 34%. I think that after the last four years Biden has destroyed Americans faith in any political party that it will be a long haul to get it back. The Dems current hysterical hair on fire and putting people like that stupid Crocket chick and AOC front and center will keep their numbers going down.
That’s because they have not figured out that Democratic Socialists are NOT Democrats, or democrats either. Liberal and moderate Democrats, pro-American Democrats, must reclaim their party.
Democrats have boxed themselves so far in to the leftist corner that they quite literally cannot get themselves out of it.
Their only solution is more and more and more of the rabid leftist politics of hate that the country turned its back on in November and they quite literally cannot see any other way out of that corner.
The Democrat party has turned left so hard that I doubt there is room left for compromise.
Who knew 29% of the population has a family member who works for CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, WaPoo, NYT, and as political consultants, strategists, pollsters and various other grifters for the Democrat Party?
If this is a CNN poll, you know it’s at least five points high,
I don’t really know what Dems are going to do to raise their numbers. People seem to be tired of the constant Trump bashing at all costs, sitting on their hands instead of applauding a kid with brain cancer at the last Trump speech was a very bad look, trying to rally people to stop firings and downsizing of the federal behemoth while somehow complaining about Musk and all the fraud and corruption he is finding is a bad look but most importantly, look at who they are putting out in front. AOC, Jasmine Crockett, Chris Murphy, Lizzy Warren?
Gas lighting America for the last for years while letting in millions of illegals claiming nothing could be done and now 1 month into the Trump administration we have the lowest encounters on the southern border in history and everyone watching their bills skyrocket due to Bidens policies then trying to convince America to vote for more of it is going to be a very tough sell.
