U.S. Fighter Jets Hit Houthi Targets in Yemen as Trump Orders ‘Decisive’ Military Action
President Trump: “To all Houthi terrorists, YOUR TIME IS UP.”

U.S. fighter jets carried out a wave of strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen after President Donald Trump on Saturday ordered a “decisive and powerful military action” against the Iranian proxy terrorist group.
The strikes come days after Houthis vowed to step up their terrorist campaign against Israeli and Western shipping in the Red Sea, a crucial maritime waterway connecting Europe to Asia. “U.S. President Donald Trump launched large-scale military strikes against Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis on Saturday over the group’s attacks against Red Sea shipping,” Reuters reported.
In the first round of the aerial operation, U.S. airstrikes targeted Iranian-supplied air defense systems. Yemen’s main airport, TV station, and Houthis’ terrorist headquarters were also hit, Israeli media reports indicate.
“A U.S. official confirmed to ABC News that U.S. air and naval assets hit dozens of Houthi targets in Yemen, including missiles, radars and drone and air defense systems,” ABC News reported. “The Houthi attacks were carried out by fighter jets from the Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier, now in the northern Red Sea, as well as Air Force attack planes and armed drones launched from bases in the region.”

The Yemen-based terrorist group has been targeting U.S. naval fleets and commercial shipping in the region, President Trump said. Houthis have been engaging in “an unrelenting campaign of piracy, violence, and terrorism against American, and other, ships, aircraft, and drones,” President Trump wrote on Truth Social. “No terrorist force will stop American commercial and naval vessels from freely sailing the Waterways of the World,” he declared.

The Associated Press reported Sunday morning:
President Donald Trump said he ordered a series of airstrikes on the Houthi-held areas in Yemen on Saturday, promising to use “overwhelming lethal force” until the Iran-backed rebels cease their attacks on shipping along a vital maritime corridor. The Houthis said at least 31 people were killed.
“Our brave Warfighters are right now carrying out aerial attacks on the terrorists’ bases, leaders, and missile defenses to protect American shipping, air, and naval assets, and to restore Navigational Freedom,” Trump said in a social media post. “No terrorist force will stop American commercial and naval vessels from freely sailing the Waterways of the World.”
He also warned Iran to stop supporting the rebel group, promising to hold the country “fully accountable” for the actions of its proxy. It comes two weeks after the U.S. leader sent a letter to Iranian leaders offering a path to restarting bilateral talks between the countries on Iran’s advancing nuclear program. Trump has said he will not allow it to become operational.
The Houthis reported explosions in their territory Saturday evening, in the capital of Sanaa and the northern province of Saada, the rebels’ stronghold on the border with Saudi Arabia, with more airstrikes reported in those areas early Sunday. Images online showed plumes of black smoke over the area of the Sanaa airport complex, which includes a sprawling military facility. The Houthis also reported airstrikes early Sunday on the provinces of Hodeida, Bayda, and Marib. (…)
A U.S. official said this was the beginning of air strikes on Houthi targets that are expected to continue. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the press. (…)
The airstrikes come a few days after the Houthis said they would resume attacks on Israeli vessels sailing off Yemen in response to Israel’s latest blockade on Gaza. They described the warning as affecting the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the Arabian Sea.

The U.S. fighter jets reportedly targeted the terrorist-controlled airport in Yemen’s capital Sana’a, along with a TV station and Houthis’ main command center in Al-Jiraf in western Yemen, the Israeli news website YNET claimed, citing Arab news sources.
“According to Arab media reports, the strikes in Sana’a hit an airport, a television station and a Houthi command-and-control center. The attacks concentrated on the Al-Jiraf neighborhood, where most Houthi operatives are based,” the news outlet reported. “U.S. reports indicate that the strikes, aimed at the Houthis’ vast weapons stockpiles—some of which are buried underground—could last several days, possibly weeks, and may escalate depending on the Houthis’ response.”
The campaign, aimed at destroying Houthis’ Iranian-supplied weapons stash, could take several weeks. “U.S. officials said that airstrikes against the Houthis’ arsenal, much of which is buried deep underground, could last for several weeks, intensifying in scope and scale depending on the militants’ reaction,” The New York Times disclosed.
The Iran-backed terrorist group turned into a bigger menace after President Joe Biden in February 2021 removed it from the list of international terrorist groups. In January 2025, President Trump re-designated Houthis as a foreign terrorist organization, in keeping with the policy pursued in his first term.
Houthis have massively disrupted the global supply chain since they launched a maritime terrorist campaign 17 months ago following Hamas’ October 7 massacre, killing sailors and sinking ships. “Major shipping companies have been forced to stop using the Red Sea – through which almost 15% of global seaborne trade usually passes – and use a much longer route around southern Africa instead,” the BBC noted.
Besides waging jihad against unarmed sailors on the high seas, the Yemen-based terrorist group seeks the destruction of the United States and Israel. Houthis, who formally call themselves ‘Ansar Allah’ (Arabic for Defenders of Allah), declare their key objectives in the official slogan: “Allah is Great, Death to America, Death to Israel, Curse on the Jews, Victory for Islam.”
Israel eliminates Gaza drone team, Hamas claims they were ‘journalists’
A day after the Israeli military eliminated a team of Hamas drone operators, who were targeting IDF ground troops in northern Gaza, the Islamic terrorist group is claiming that they were all aid workers, journalists, and curious onlookers.
The narrative of Israel targeting Palestinian journalists was peddled by many mainstream media outlets, with most of them citing the notorious Hamas-run “Health Ministry” as their sources.
The Israeli military debunked those Hamas claims by releasing the names of the slain terrorists, including one wanted for his role in the October 7 massacre.

“Yesterday (…), the IAF struck a terrorist cell in the Beit Lahia area, among them was a terrorist who infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7th massacre,” the Israeli military said in a press release Sunday. “The terrorists struck were operating a drone intended to carry out terrorist attacks against IDF troops operating in the Gaza Strip. Based on intelligence regarding the terrorist activity in the area, it can be determined that the drone was consistently used by the Islamic Jihad Terrorist Organization, as well as during its activities today.”
Many of the members of the Hamas and Islamic Jihad (PIJ) drone team, which was caught spying on IDF positions, were posing as journalists. “A number of terrorists were eliminated in the strike, including terrorists who operated under the cover of journalists,” the military confirmed.
The terrorists killed in the strike include “Mostafa Mohammed Shaaban Hamad, a Hamas terrorist who infiltrated Israel during the October 7th massacre,” the IDF statement added.

When does a DC Circuit Court judge stop this? /
I have it on good authority that a judge ordered the missiles to turn around and return.
Activist judge will probably order us to retrieve the bombs unexploded too.
The judge also found the explosions were a crime against the environment so now Trump is really in trouble. I’m sure that orange jump suit is imminent.
This should have happened on dotard/crime boss, Biden’s, watch, the minute that these thugs started shooting missiles at cargo vessels, but, naturally, the feckless, emasculated, dithering, dim-witted and gullible Dhimmi-crats never met an Islamofascist/Muslim terrorist outfit or regime whom they didn’t obsequiously kowtow to, enable, fund and otherwise show deference to.
Well, one has to admit that it’s hard to do a job when you don’t know what that job is, or that you are in it.
Biden was more concerned about molesting children and sniffing women than he was on being president. He’ll, he couldn’t even get his fingers out a woman’s vagina long enough to press the button.
Sure, the dotard was a tottering and clueless figurehead, but, the responsibility to protect U.S. and allied interests thereby fell to his subordinates/caretakers/chaperones — Blinken, Austin, Sullivan, et al., and, true to Dhimmi-crat form, when confronted with brazen Muslim terrorism and attacks on U.S. and allied interests, they failed to act, at all.
The alternative to having someone other than Biden in charge is that there was nobody in charge. Not sure which is worse.
Oh there was someone in charge; and they just so happen like Iran and it’s allies.
People forget Biden wasn’t in charge, the feckless Obama staffers and people from his administration that never met a Muslim they didn’t love or a Muslim country who’s interests they couldn’t put above America’s were. Doing nothing while Muslim terrorists attacked American shipping is one reason Biden’s Sec of Def should have been sacked.
The only good terrorist is a dead terrorist.
Good on you President Trump. Taking out the trash one group of criminals at a time.
We should be taking out Iran, clip their wings and their proxies will wither.
Time to show the Allatollah what the meaning of FAFO is.
MOAB time.
These are more than just terrorism, it’s also piracy.
They aren’t just firing missiles, their “fishing boats” have also repeatedly engaged in acts of piracy.
There’s a well known and historically effective way to stop piracy.
You clean out the nests of pirates.
We can certainly track the origin of piratical “fishing boats” to their harbors / villages of origin. That’s what those multi-million dollar planes and satellites are supposed to be for.
Not only do we need to sink pirate ships caught in the act, we need to destroy their home harbor infrastructure. We don’t have battleships any more, but we do have guns on cruisers and destroyers – use those instead of more expensive drones or missiles to destroy all the docks and boats at the target. You can do that at Oh dark hundred if collateral damage is a concern. Repeated offenders it’s not as much a concern – warn them to evacuate but the villages get destroyed too.
We could probably reactivate a battleship to pound the pirates havens or mount 16 inch guns on another platform to do the job.
Why warn to evacuate? That would leave them to find somewhere else to launch piracy from.
While most all of will agree that this is long-overdue, don’t dismiss the challenge. The Houthis are Iranian clients; they have the knowledge base the Iranians have, are as committed to defeating the “Great Satan” as the Iranians, and have had a lot of time to prepare. They have the institutional knowledge of Hamas and Hezbollah in how to conceal weapons.
This has to be done; it won’t be easy, and we may find ourselves tiring of ‘whack-a-mole’.
That is why I think you have to attack the head of the snake – Iran. Otherwise, things will just slow down for a bit, but not change substantively.
Granted.
If for nothing else, Obama/Biden/unelected-WH-aide who was running the country during those years deserves to be charged with treason. But they never will, just as chamberlain never was for being a trusting idiot.
We had frozen Irans overseas assets – ostensibly to be paid out to victims of their continued misbehavior – we had embargoed their oil exports so they had to choose between feeding their people or waging direct or indirect war – we had crippled their efforts to build the nukes they openly said they would use as soon as they had them – we had with the David Accords and other diplomatic moves isolated them and reduced their influence in the Middle East.
Then the “Trust But Don’t Verify” crowd came in and returned frozen funds to the Mullahs instead of their victims. They turned back on the oil money spigot so Iran could finance such luxuries as war, nukes and financing terror again. They traded a no nuke-research policy to an “Ok, but slow down nuke-research” policy. And they otherwise made nice to The Bad Guys in the region whilst making not-nice to the only real civilized democracy in the region. They let lie fallow all the diplomatic work done to improve chances of peace and actively helped those who wanted to commit genocide to do so – while parroting invalid claims that Israel was committing genocide.
Whether this was all because they were congenital idiots, or Orange Man Bad made them act like idiots to avoid ever admitting OMB could occasionally have a point, or hatred of their own country and civilization made them act like idiots…..
Or all of the above reasons, the fact is they acted like idiots.
At some point – with the enabling that the idiots did – a working intel bureaucracy WILL brief whoever is President that Iran is (say) weeks away from deploying (hence using) nukes.
Lord grant whoever that is doesn’t still think A Piece Of Paper signed by the mullahs is any sort of defense. And pray that the intel estimate isn’t off enuf that Iranian run ships aren’t already deployed in US harbors with suicide nukes.
To be blunt, Iranians are smarter than Arabs.
And that POS Massie is out there whining that it’s a ‘new war’ in Yemen.
It’s almost like he’s just a fraud.
I don’t understand the vitriol directed at Massie for pointing out that under the Constitution it is Congress which holds the power and authority to ‘Declare War’ and if short of formal declaration to grant Congressional approval. The President isn’t a king and his powers are checked/balanced by those of Congress. If y’all want to discard that system then say so directly.
Congress has formerly declared war since ww2. How many police actions has the US been in since then? Too many to account.
Instead of declaring wars congress controls the purse and passed the war powers acts which place limits on presidential authority in this area. Kind of, sort of.
Which is why I specifically included Congressional approval short of a Formal Declaration of War. That’s what was used a few times immediately after the founding including the :quasi War’ with France, many times since to authorize use of military force including post 9/11 in Iraq/Afghanistan as just a few examples. Not unusual at all for Congress to grant approval short of a formal declaration of War.
IMO we should get Congressional cooperation to declare these goons and Tren De Aragua along side all other terrorist groups as ‘Pirates’ then authorize use of military force to utterly destroy them. Seize their assets, find and destroy their allies and supporters no matter where they are found. This would be far more effective and would be dome solely in our own interest v using the US military to support globalism as unpaid ‘world police’.
I think it is high time to stop differentiating between a Muslim and a terrorist. Ninety plus percent of the Muslims fully support the terrorists and are OK with being human shields. The same goes for Hamas. It is high time that we take out their infrastructure such as water, food, utilities, transportation and shipping. Lock up all of their money and send in troops to clear out the weapons stashes. They don’t believe in being humanitarian so why should we? In WW2, had we just targeted the Nazis, we would still still be fighting that war today. There are several islands that are owned by Yemen. We need to confiscate them and turn them into our military bases from which to launch attacks. When they finally give in, we keep the islands just like Trump wants to keep Gaza.
This is why you need battleships and why the zumwalt class was conceived of (but failed). Easier, safer, and cheaper to lob 16 inch shells into costal area than drop bombs.
Given tech advances, the guns on a cruiser can fulfill that need.
And eventually, a nuke-powered cruiser with a railgun will out-gun the old school battle ship main gun.
I think cruisers have 5 inch guns as do many of our other ships. Limited range and throw weight. Rapid firing though.
We’re retiring cruisers anyway and I don’t think there are plans to replace. They wouldn’t be nuclear if a new class was designed I think.
I like railguns but they’ve been sidelined for now as impractical. They’re power chores and they destroy their own battles after a few shots.
Maybe drone carries will do the trick.
I liked the Idea of “Arsenal Ships”. Just 2 Football fields worth of VLS tubes,Surface to air missile launchers, and CWIS.
Missles are too expensive. That’s why I suggest cheap drones.
The days of BS are over, and it is due to drone/missile weapons. A BS’s air defense is so limited that a retrofit would negate any existing benefits. They are also slow and would require a huge battle group to defend them. Missiles and drones are the future of warfare, and we had better get on board. MB tanks are also on the chopping block for low survivability due to drones/missiles. I hope Hegseth can bring the Pentagon thinking around to see that the battlefield has changed dramatically thanks to Ukraine. Russian and allied tanks are being burned at a rate that no one expected, and Russia is now using 1960s-era tanks.
Missles are too expensive. Fast BS did 35 knots at least. Not slow. They can be retrofitted with a ton of phalanxes and air defense missles.
Tanks have added active defense. Not sure how that will play out.
A Battleship does have better armor so a bit more survivability. True about deployment v peer and near peer, they would be swarmed. So would Carriers for that matter. I can see a role for a Battleship in a matchup with less than near peer adversary in a role for shore bombardment.
The 16 inch guns of a Battleship are way, way more effective than a 5 inch gun (127 mm). Even rapid firing a 5inch (127 mm) gun doesn’t pack the power needed v shore targets. A 2700 lbs projectile with a range of 24 miles on the 16 inch gun v a 70 lbs projectile with a 23 mile range for a 5 inch (127mm). The 5 inch can rapid fire 20 rounds but then must reload but even with that it only puts 1400 lbs on target v the 2700 lbs of a single round from a 16 inch gun. The bombardment from a Battleship is devastating.
Our current lineup of drones are expensive compared to even 5″+ naval guns, I think. And we might want to rethink any “no cruiser” policy. Nine inch Cruiser guns up to 9″ caliber historically were common and ranged up to 20 miles, well far enuf to safely bombard coastal targets. There were cruiser guns a big as twice that caliber.
As for the gun ammo, it doesn’t need to be AP ammo to take out a soft target like ship docks. We already know how to build thermobaric ammo to kill stuff. Heaving a battleship AP round with the mass of a Volkwagon is overkill for the type of targets a Pirate harbor would harbour.
Ok. We bombed th Houti
Now what about the Blowfish?
There hasn’t been a big gun cruisers since the navy discovered missles. Missles which are way too expensive for the uses they,ve been put to. The navy needs a 100k drone with a 500 1000 pound payload with perhaps a GPS capability and no operator in the loop.
Instead of on again/off again strikes that don’t seem to have ended the problem how about we seek to declare the Houthi alongside other terrorist groups like Hamas and transnational criminal orgs like Tren De Aragua to be categorized as ‘Pirates/Brigands’. Then seek a declaration that these modern day ‘Pirates/Brigands’ are in a state of hostility with the USA and use the full power of the US military to hunt them down, seize their financial assets and utterly destroy them and their allies?
