CBS News Gives Deceptive Excuse For Differing Harris Answers

CBS News Gives Deceptive Excuse For Differing Harris Answers

CBS still hasn’t released the full uncut transcript.

60 Minutes claimed it did not cut or change VP Kamala Harris’s response to Bill Whitaker’s statement, “But it seems that Prime Minister Netanyahu is not listening.”

60 Minutes said (emphasis mine):

Former President Donald Trump is accusing 60 Minutes of deceitful editing of our Oct. 7 interview with Vice President Kamala Harris. That is false.

60 Minutes gave an excerpt of our interview to Face the Nation that used a longer section of her answer than that on 60 Minutes. Same question. Same answer. But a different portion of the response. When we edit any interview, whether a politician, an athlete, or movie star, we strive to be clear, accurate and on point. The portion of her answer on 60 Minutes was more succinct, which allows time for other subjects in a wide ranging 21-minute-long segment.

The program lied in its statement.

The deception came out because 60 Minutes tweeted a portion of its interview with Harris before it aired.

The original clip:

WHITAKER: But it seems that Prime Minister Netanyahu is not listening.

HARRIS: Well, Bill, the work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by or a result of many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region.

What 60 Minutes aired:

WHITAKER: But it seems that Prime Minister Netanyahu is not listening.

HARRIS: We are not gonna stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end.

I transcribed the entire clip 60 Minutes posted on X. I don’t see that sentence in my piece.

You just dug your hole deeper, CBS. Not cool.

CBS and the rest could help save any shred of credibility by refraining from the attempt to drag a dead horse over the finish line.

BS News (formerly known as CBS News) continues to cement its place in journalism history.

A Trump victory in November will be an extinction event for the dinosaur media, similar to the asteroid that did in the actual dinosaurs 65 million years ago.

I dindt to nuffin’, man.

The more newsworthy part is what they left out. It show what an idiot Harris is, which is more important than the short boilerplate CBS actually presented.

I guess her answer did not make it past The Race And Culture Unit.
And don’t think I am being facetious. This desk can literally change the “news”. It can fire the president of CBS.
