Hashem Safieddine, Likely Replacement for Hezbollah’s Nasrallah, Targeted In Israeli Beirut Strike

Hashem Safieddine, reputed to be the replacement leader of Hezbollah after Hassan Nasrallah was killed in a massive Israeli air strike on his Beirut command bunker, has himself been targeted in a massive strike on another Beirut bunker.
NY Times reports:
A series of huge explosions rocked the densely populated neighborhoods just south of Beirut at midnight on Thursday as Israel kept up its bombing campaign aimed at Hezbollah leaders and weapon stores. Shock waves shook buildings across the Lebanese capital.
Three Israeli officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss intelligence, said the explosions were Israeli airstrikes intended to destroy an underground bunker where senior Hezbollah leaders were meeting. The group included Hashem Safieddine, the presumed successor to Hassan Nasrallah, the longtime Hezbollah chief who was assassinated in a similar attack last week, the officials said.

Following the news that the Israeli military targeted Hashem Saffedine, a possible successor of Hassan Nasrallah, I think it’s clear that Hezbollah and Iran have not been able to figure out how Israel is able to identify, locate and target Hezbollah leaders. Embarrassing.

Looks like #Israel got the whole Hezbollah Shura Council that was meeting to elect Safieddine as Nasrallah's successor. This makes me think that Israel knew where Safieddine has been, all along, and was waiting for this meeting to take them out wholesale, instead of one by one.

I AM curious about how the Israelis are tracking these leaders but the East German Stasi had effective if unethical methods in the 1970’s.
