Fetterman: Trump has ‘Special Kind of Place’ in PA, He’s ‘Going to be Strong’
Fetterman also reiterated his support for Israel and the destruction of Hamas.
Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) warned people that VP Kamala Harris doesn’t have an easy road in Pennsylvania.
Fetterman made the comments at the 2024 Atlantic Festival on Thursday:
“Trump has created a special kind of hold within the coronet he’s remade – the party – and he has a special kind of place in Pennsylvania, and I think that only deepened after the first assassination attempt,” Fetterman said.
A deranged gunman attempted to assassinate Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July. The shooting, which Trump miraculously survived with only a wound on the side of his head, sharpened support among his die-hard base.
“I also want people to understand, you know, and it’s not science, but there is, there’s energy and there are kinds of anger on the ground in Pennsylvania — and people are very committed and strong,” Fetterman said Thursday. “And I joked that his signs became like the state flower – and you see that everywhere.”

Fetterman expressed skepticism of Harris’ reported lead in Pennsylvania on Thursday, comparing the situation to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s seven-point lead in Pennsylvania that ultimately collapsed on Election Day during her failed 2016 presidential bid.
“Everybody thought that it was in the bag, but that’s not the energy and the other kinds of things that were really consistent with what I’m witnessing all across,” Fetterman recalled. “And then, sadly, we saw what happened.”
“People understand who he is and what he’s about, and enough people think that that’s the feature, and it’s not a bug,” he added.
“There is energy and there’s kinds of anger on the ground in Pennsylvania,” @SenFettermanPA tells @jeffreygoldberg. “People are very committed. And Trump is going to be strong … It’s not like a science that can explain it, but you have to just know that it’s real.” #TAF24 pic.twitter.com/4MO5jx401S

I lost all faith in polls after 2016.
A WaPo poll has Harris at 48% and Trump at 47%.
The New York Times poll claims that Harris leads with 50% of the voters, and Trump only has 46%.
Fetterman also reiterated his support for Israel and the destruction of Hamas. He has been one of the most robust and most consistent voices on the left, refusing to bend the knee in the face of anti-Israel/pro-Hamas mobs.
.@SenFettermanPA condemns Hamas and says, "I grieve the tragedy and the death and the misery and all of that for the Palestinian people."
"I believe that Israel, after what's happened, after October 7 … I'm going to be a very loyal, unwavering voice throughout all of this." pic.twitter.com/TUhifivZd1

“I reject this idea that you can’t destroy Hamas,” @SenFettermanPA tells @jeffreygoldberg. “Gaza has to be rebuilt. But if anyone’s being honest, it can’t be rebuilt if Hamas is allowed to be functional.”https://t.co/R0YxwAwV8a #TAF24 pic.twitter.com/mjohwNnqJw

Fetterman is a strange guy
Strange, yes. But, likable in some ways. At least he’s honest.
Rebooted Fetterman 2.0 has some likable qualities.
Who knew that brain issues could recalibrate a Dem to be a real person in touch with everyday people? Maybe the stroke just killed off a lot of the Dem parts of his brain.
“Which hemisphere” jokes write themselves.
who hates trump?
the globalist elitist soy’ers
who loves trump?
the patriots of love and freedom throughout the world
A sane Democrat. Who knew they existed?!?
It did take a stroke…
… of genius!
We don’t see much of his illegal alien wife these days.
I do enjoy that the big guy is a fly in the Democrat ointment these days.
She is not an illegal alien. She became a legal resident in 2004 and a citizen in 2009.
You can still describe her as an illegal immigrant, because she did immigrate illegally (as a child, so she committed no crime).
Apologies for that misinformed comment.
He knows first hand of the misery of small town Western PA. Hollowed out by NAFTA and other globalist deindustrialization moves over the last several generations. Hopelessness and drug addiction and decay, huge influx of incompatible migrants. The generations of dem voters are waking up to the fact that they’ve been duped. The party they supported left them behind and reviles them. It’s impossible to live in Bradford or any of the other small PA towns and not see it. It’s possible he used the dem machine in PA just to get elected as a Trojan horse. Maybe.
I used to work in Bradford, PA. There’s still a good industrial base there, but things have really gone downhill since the 1980s.
Hmm … *checks bottom of Zippo lighter from pocket* Yep, Bradford, PA.
Marrying a witless commie to bolster the illusion is real dedication.
As for the recent new stories of migrants in Ohio and PA, this has been happening along the De,MD, VA Eastern Shore for years. Slumlords control the local politics. Farms and chicken plants hire the migrants. Huge increase in sex offenses and driving incidents. Haitian Zoe pound gang activity, schools suffering.
They just dropped 1000 illegals in Tunkhannock, PA just in time for the November election. They will most likely end up at the big Cargill meat processing plant in Wyalusing.
As close as this election will be, I do expect Trump to win, the biggest reason being that the PA Supreme Court ruled that misdated ballots will not count. As much as I disdain the media “analysis” I do agree that whoever wins PA will be elected.
To beat Trump, if he wins PA they will have to steal GA and AZ. Not likely.
