ABC News Rejects Kamala Demand To Change Debate Rules On Muted Mics

Kamala desperately wants to play the “I’m speaking” victim card like she did against Pence. Silenced mics preventing cross-talk is a major risk for Kamala. There’s nothing so scary for her campaign as Kamala having to fill time with words.

Kamala Harris is desperate for a repeat of her debate with Mike Pence in 2020, where she was able to portray herself as the battered woman candidate who was being mansplained and bullied. It was all fabricated and almost certainly planned, but it became her signature:

In the two debates scheduled for Joe Biden and Trump, one of the rules was that there would be no talk-over – the mics would be muted when it was not the candidate’s time to speak. That rule, as all the rules, was demanded by Biden. I didn’t think that would be good for Trump, who likes a freewheeling debate style, but it turned out to be great for him.

When Biden dropped out of the race and Kamala was anointed the nominee, her team demanded that Trump stick to the September 10 ABC News debate. Trump eventually agreed.

But then Harris demanded a rule change. She doesn’t want the muted mics even though that was part of the rules agreed up for the ABC News debate. Her team has been pushing the theme that Trump is either afraid or unable to control himself.

In fact, a debate with no cross-talk is a major risk for Kamala. There’s nothing so scary for her campaign as Kamala having to fill time with words.

According to the NY Post, ABC News has rejected Kamala’s demand for a rule change.

ABC News has declined to adopt Vice President Kamala Harris’ request to have wholly unmuted microphones during her Sept. 10 debate with former President Donald Trump — after days of wrangling over what Republicans viewed as Democratic attempts to lay a trap for the GOP nominee.

A network email reviewed by The Post lays out similar rules as those for Trump’s June 27 CNN debate against President Biden — including no audience, no pre-written notes or props and muted mics when a candidate is not speaking.

Trump and Harris will be standing on stage and will only be allowed to have a pen, a pad of paper and a bottle of water.

The Republican campaign had insisted the debate — set to be held at Philadelphia’s National Constitution Center — follow the same rules as the June showdown with Biden.

However, Harris’ team claimed Monday that they wanted both candidates’ mics on for the entire 90-minute forum.

A top Trump ally said ABC News had informed both campaigns in writing last week that it would employ the “CNN rules” and both had confirmed that Sept. 10 was a “go.”

“At this point, Team Harris is going to be taking an ‘L’ when they finally accept, as the debate rules aren’t changing, or they’ll take an even bigger ‘L’ if they back out of the debate because the Dana Bash/CNN interview goes poorly,” the person said.

The email seen by The Post was sent Tuesday by ABC News Chief Counsel Eric Lieberman. It reiterated the rules and asked the campaigns for their “formal acceptance.”

AP and other news outlets are reporting the same.

So what will Kamala do? Will she back out, or figure out some other way to play the victim card at the debate?

Trump holds the advantage regardless of condition.

Kamala Harris wants to portray herself as a battered woman like she did with Pence.

Ha ha ha. She knew better than to do that with Willy Brown.

Win/Win for Trump. In a one-on-one discussion, it is important to jump on misconceptions the millisecond they appear, because it takes five minutes of truth to counter one minute of lies. Likewise, the ‘jump’ is a tool of the liar, used when the person you lied to counters so you ‘jump’ on the counter and double-down on the accusation, followed by a secondary accusation that the responder is themselves lying. The professional liar or politician (but I repeat myself) or on-screen journalist (repeating again) is well aware of the ‘jump’ and how to use it. Cutting the mic makes it so Kamala can’t ‘jump’ and that is going to mess with her attack/counter/attack process.

Camilla couldn’t go to the bathroom without her team planning it out for her ahead of time. She needed coaching on how to eat dinner at a formal event.

“I’m speaking!”

“I hadn’t noticed.”

Quite honestly I’m surprised. I expect ABC to do everything they can to slant this so that the vice prostitute doesn’t look like the idiot that she really is.

The wind may have changed. The powers behind the puppets may have decided they can better weather another 4 years of Trump (lawfare has been developed to a very high degree, and saw some success during DJT’s first administration), than have Harris elected POTUS and eff everything up to high heaven – possibly costing the Dems the next three or four presidential elections. They would rather have her fail now, in the election, than fail spectacularly in office where the damage she might do to the brand could be catastrophic.

Not saying this is happening, but it’s a scenario worth consideration.

The question I want answered is: given that ABC is arguably the most liberally biased of the three OG networks, what could have caused them NOT just to give the Democrat puppet everything she wanted, as they always do? Is there that much heat on?

The entire propaganda machine propped up Darth Dementia and the Cackle for four years, while spending 10 years pairing Trump with a wide dark brush.

Even the democrat voters are catching on.

Because then the Trump campaign would have more than enough to cancel without losing face. The entire premise of having the debate there in the first place was that she’s holding Trump to his contract with Biden, even though she isn’t Biden. He resisted but eventually said fine, let’s go with that. Now she wants to change the contract. She can’t have it both ways.

that doesnt mean they wont help her in other ways

she will give her prescripted answers and the “moderators” will decide if she is going off the rails and then say ok
you’re out of time

the sit down taped interview” is to get her use to the style they will employ in the debates

they need the gender/sexism clash ( playing to their communist leanings)
and the race clash ( playing to their nazi leanings)

again…trump winning by less than 30% is almost unimaginable in real terms

but even a 54-46% trump win would be acceptable

never before have so few brain cells had such a chance to lead the usa as it does with harris

This is all a feint by both ABC and the Harris Campaign. Somebody at ABC said to the Harris people, ‘Hey guys, you should ‘leak’ demands of us which we can then ‘deny’ allowing us to pretend we’re actually going to behave in a fair and non-partisan way. But, don’t worry. You’re still going to get question approval LONG before we go to air’

Or they are colluding to give her a reason to reject the debate.

She can’t afford to reject the debate. She already scotched the Fox one, and dropped the one with the black journalists through the cracks. Scotching this one would leave her with NO debates. And she’s the one who got all sorts of mileage taunting Trump for “running away from debates.” How would that look in a Republican ad?

The pressure could get to her, and she might show up for the debate completely blotto, then it’s pronounced that she has “just tested positive for Covid,” so the debate is postponed (indefinitely, as it might turn out).

Alternate scenario: The debate is just about to begin, and a bomb threat is communicated to the studio. So sorry.

I’m just sayin’ the debate may not go as planned at all, if Harris’ team has anything to say about it. I would even entertain wilder alternatives than these – I put nothing past these people now.

My prediction is she will still use the “I’m speaking” line. Donald will start talking into his muted mic, and then she will inform him that the mic was muted to keep him from interrupting her, and that it is unbelievable that he would still do this when such precautions were taken. Maybe a line about duct taping his mouth being the only answer.

Donald, you better keep it buttoned or she will do this. She might even try it if you do.

If the way she is running her campaign now is any indication, she will very likely back out at the last moment. It appears that the morons who are going to vote for her do not care if she knows what she is doing or even has a plan. There seems to be no downside to hiding in the basement with the woke crowd.

I think she is a likely winner due to the Dem-educated crowd – their decades long indoctrination game – unless Musk is the tip of the iceberg – the big money interests are really getting nervous about how bad the country is getting. Venezuela 2.0 does not leave many in OK shape.

The Cult Of Personality needs no substance. All she has to do is stand there in complete JOY and they will vote for here. It seems that few on the left make a connection between who they vote for and the policies that end up hampering their lives like the economy.

They must have realize during debate prep that she looks like a complete idiot, trying to fill time with her word salad.

I don’t believe it. ABC will do whatever it takes to help Harris.
She probably has had the questions for some time. Or submitted them.
