Biden Commerce Sec. Doesn’t Know About the Major Jobs Revision, Not ‘Familiar With’ the Bureau of Labor Statistics

Biden Commerce Sec. Doesn’t Know About the Major Jobs Revision, Not ‘Familiar With’ the Bureau of Labor Statistics

How did Gina Raimondo not know about the huge jobs revision report from today or the part of her department that puts out jobs reports?

Biden Commerce Sec. Gina Raimondo doesn’t know what is going on right now. (I’m trying to find the full video!)

What a shock.

ABC News tried to ask Raimondo about the Bureau of Labor Statistics report admitting that over 800,000 jobs were never created through March 2024:

Reporter: Nearly a million jobs “created” since Kamala took office do not exist.

Raimondo: “I don’t believe it because I’ve never heard Trump say anything truthful.”

Reporter: “It is from the Bureau of Labor.”

Raimondo: “I’m not familiar with that.”

The BLS is literally part of her department.

Truthfully or willfully ignorant?

Well she certainly sounds like future democrat presidential material. A bit overqualified actually.

Please, will no one pretend that Raimondo was confused, and therefore is to be excused, because the reporter did not say, “Bureau of Labor STATISTICS.” That would be so Democratic of you.

Obviously she knows. She’s lying. It’s simply in her nature. That ABC reporterette will likely be disciplined for pointing out indisputable facts, on air.

No, I believe she’s that stupid, she doesn’t know

TargaGTS in reply to gonzotx. | August 21, 2024 at 8:30 pm

The respective Cabinet Secretaries get daily briefs of potentially big news items that then get curated into the brief that is given to POTUS every morning, the PDB. There is little chance this news – the largest annual correction to the jobs numbers in two-decades being released during the DNC convention – wasn’t Action Item #1 for the Commerce Secretary for days, if not a week or more. This would be like a head football coach claiming he doesn’t know who the team is playing this Sunday.

She might very well not know. Anyone think Buttplug knows anything about Transportation? Haaland about the Interior? Yellen about Treasury and so on? Biden stocked his cabinet with First’s, not people that were competent

Ghostrider in reply to TargaGTS. | August 22, 2024 at 1:19 am

Biden chose Gina to be the point person on AI.

But not the Czar! No, never!
So what state was Gina the incompetent governor above before she was handed this plum?
Raimondo’s claim to fame is setting up State Trooper checkpoints on all the interstates into RI to (try to) turn back cars with NY plates at the very start of COVID, when NY was a “hot zone.”

Ghostrider in reply to henrybowman. | August 22, 2024 at 8:27 am

Henry, from what I can tell, Biden deliberately picked Gina for the plum Commerce Secretary job because her intelligence is artificial.

Lucifer Morningstar in reply to TargaGTS. | August 22, 2024 at 8:09 am

No, I don’t think she knew what the BL&S released. If you notice her first knee-jerk reaction was to assume that Donald Trump made the claim and lied about it. And then confronted with the fact that it was the Bureau of Labor and Statistics that had published the revised numbers she tried to backtrack and claim she didn’t know anything about it. That’s not the response of a person who knows what they are talking about. Not by a long shot. I just wonder if there is anyone in the Biden regime that knows what they are doing.

Cool beans. Good to know that even the Commerce Sec not only doesn’t believe the # put out by BLS but refuses to acknowledge their existence. I been ignoring them for some time, except to mock at their lies.

I believe she did not know. Why? Because she immediately presumed the figures came from Trump. If she knew where the figures came from, why would she risk being corrected, and not just corrected, the reporter gave her a “Bazinga”? Why would she set herself up for a fail like this?

This is a former governor of Rhode Island. Yes, they can be that stupid and dull. There’s a reason why the slang “libtard” exists and a reason why I have no interest in returning to RI (born and raised there).

Is it just me, or is there an entire coven of these soulless female governors (Whitmer, Hochel, and Raimondo come to mind) whose eyes I can see in my nightmares, glistening as they strap the rat cage to my face in room 101?

henrybowman in reply to TrickyRicky. | August 22, 2024 at 2:55 am

Crazy white chicks. Can’t live with ’em, can’t put ’em in the woodchipper.

      diver64 in reply to TrickyRicky. | August 22, 2024 at 7:20 am

About as many crazy white chick governors as there are University Presidents, police chiefs black mayors and D.A.’s etc. The only thing they all have in common is how incompetent they are

Ghostrider in reply to TrickyRicky. | August 22, 2024 at 8:33 am

The flick “Coyote Ugly” comes to mind. Imagine you are at a fraternity party in college and there’s no shortage of alcohol. It’s been flowing all night and people are beyond drunk.

It’s late and the music is winding down. People have already paired up for the night and there’s just you and Gina left on the dance floor.

What do you do? Go for it or trust your basic instinct and bolt as fast as you can?

The Biden/Harris administration: Asleep at the switch.

March 2, 2021 she was confirmed to the position by a 84-15 vote
These Senators voted No, surprised to not see Rand Paul on the list

Barrasso (R-WY)
Cotton (R-AR)
Cramer (R-ND)
Cruz (R-TX)
Hagerty (R-TN)
Hawley (R-MO)
Hoeven (R-ND)
Kennedy (R-LA)
Lummis (R-WY)
Rubio (R-FL)
Sasse (R-NE)
Scott (R-FL)
Scott (R-SC)
Shelby (R-AL)
Tuberville (R-AL)

not voting- Blackburn

She honestly probably doesn’t.

Because leftist morons occupy these positions for the prestige. They have no idea what their subordinates are actually doing, or what is happening, unless somebody tells them.

Their ‘job’ is to collect a high salary and show up to collect praise from the slavish press, while the ‘real’ work gets done by the Deep State.

Doesn’t care, either.

diversity is a society’s suicide note.

More evidence of the Biden/Harris incompetence (or dishonesty).

It’s not credible that she is actually unaware of the Bureau of Labor Statistics jobs reporting. Even a Biden appointee can’t be that totally clueless. Well, yes, I suppose a Biden appointee could be but it’s still not super likely.

Look for the DoL press office to “clarify” that she meant that she wasn’t familiar with the number the reporter mentioned, which was rounded up from the exact correct number. And besides, it’s all Donald Trump’s fault anyway so who cares?

The Drill SGT | August 21, 2024 at 11:15 pm

Bureau of Labor Statistics is part of Labor, not Commerce, YMMV

DaveGinOly in reply to The Drill SGT. | August 21, 2024 at 11:33 pm

That’s not an excuse. Everyone here 1.) knows of the Bureau; and 2.) was aware of the revised job numbers. Why wasn’t a cabinet secretary aware of one or the other (and possibly both)?

      Fat_Freddys_Cat in reply to DaveGinOly. | August 22, 2024 at 8:35 am

I was aware of it, and I’m not the Secretary of anything.

Besides, since labor is a key part of commerce I would expect a Secretary of Commerce to have that data at his/her fingertips.

Yes Gina Raimondo that economics luminary that stole the state of RI’s teachers and fire fighters pensions ( including my fathers) hardly surprising she knows nothing about labor stats.

    diver64 in reply to schmuul. | August 22, 2024 at 7:29 am

I find it interesting that Raimondo managed to weasel a $125,000 yr “pension” from the same fund that was going bankrupt then decided a great move was to invest with Wall Street Hedge funds, the same funds that donated over $100,000 to her election and the funds promptly lost $500,000,000. She then rammed through a bill reducing everyone’s pension but that $125,000 Losers Bonus? Still ticking along.

      schmuul in reply to diver64. | August 22, 2024 at 8:19 pm

Yes she did and many people like my father depended on that money and RI refuses to hear and legal cases about the issue. She is a horrible human being.

“I don’t care what the truth is. I get to tell 100s of thousands of Americans watching ABC News that Trump is a liar. I did my part for our democracy.”

Raimondo is a classic example of the typical corruption in politics to get rich. She was given part of a financial services company which was funded by Wall Street hedge funds. This company had about $15,000,000 under advisement but she somehow convinced Rhode Island to through $5,000,000 her way to invest. After engineering a $125,000 yr “bonus” for herself that would go on for over 10 years while that $5 million evaporated she somehow rode this to the state Treasury office where she promptly invested $500,000,000 of the states pension fund with….the same Wall Street Hedge Funds that got her her start. They lost a ton of that money and she then, as Governor, rammed through a bill decreasing pension fund payouts for everyone else all the while still getting that $125,000 bonus.
Funny how all this works to make someone rich and then keep moving on up in Government despite a record of disaster at every level.

I did some sniffing around to see what the Democrat rebuttal would be, but they seem to be studiously avoiding the conversation altogether. They would rather talk about joy and vibes.

In the past one argument I would see from them when a fed department screwed something up is “Well the department has zillions of employees! You can’t expect the Secretary to know everything that goes on there!”

Heh. If the Secretary can’t even keep track of what’s going on in her own department that suggests to me that the department is too damn big and in need of trimming.

It is obvious that Walz’s line of attack on Vance focused on Vance graduating from Yale Law School is not only ridiculous, it’s stupid.

By now, you have seen and heard how Tim Walz and others speaking at the DNC are slamming JD Vance because JD, including his wife, are Yale Law School alums. According to Walz, that’s a bad thing.

Let’s play SAT question for $1,000, shall we?

What well-recognized politician is a Yale Law School graduate?

A) Bill Clinton
B) Hillary Clinton
C) Gina Raimondo
D) All of the above

Answer: D

B.A. in Economics from Harvard, Magna Cum Laude 1993

Q.E.D.

Does it surprise anyone that officials in the Biden/Harris administration don’t know diddly about their jobs?! A bunch of incompetent posers. How anyone can be a Democrat amazes me!
