Even though it seemed like a parody, “White Dudes for Harris” was real. The online fundraiser and organizing rally apparently raised over $4 million for Vice President Kamala Harris, and more than 150,000 people joined the online stream for the event.
Governor of Minnesota Tim Walz, a top contender for the potential VP spot, called former President Trump a “bastard.” He seems pleasant. I’m sure he and Kamala Harris will get along splendidly.

Way way back I predicted that the future would be private security forces owned by Billionaires, which would eventually become private armies like those owned by Russian Oligarchs. I still think that we are on the path.
I really don’t get the d/prog obsession with abortion on demand and linking it to ‘freedom’. There’s well over a dozen reliable forms of birth control. A female can track her cycle to get a good understanding of the few # of days each month she could become pregnant. She can require the males she chooses to engage in sexual activity with to use of a condom in addition to her own method of birth control. She can limit sexual access to a committed relationship. If she doesn’t do any of that and willingly participates in a random hook up she can access ‘morning after pill’. That’s a whole bunch of alternatives to abortion while still choosing to be sexually active.
IMO this obsession isn’t really about sexual freedom at all but rather creating freedom from consequences and accountability. Two things that both seem to be kryptonite to feminists in particular and d/prog in general.
Abortion is the primary sacrament of their religion. Icing on the cake is that they get to sell baby body parts for bookoo bucks afterwards.
All of those things have real costs and difficulties. Hormonal birth control makes many women ill and causes loss of interest in sex. Who wants to use a rubber? Morning after pills make the woman sick for a few days, so she is out of action. IUDs work most of the time, but can have complications.
Mitigation of the risk of becoming pregnant prior to pregnancy seems like a good idea if one chooses to become sexually active outside of a committed long-term relationship. As you correctly point out there are always pros/cons in our decisions but there’s no escape from the consequences of our choices or our failure to act responsibly.

I do agree with the underlying point you make here. That our society has become more hedonistic as we remove the traditional consequences of sexual activity outside marriage or a committed relationship. We shouldn’t ignore the role of hormonal birth control and put all the blame on access to abortion. IMO, abortion access takes a distant second place to hormonal birth control in the amount and scale of influence on our culture. We ain’t going back and I don’t think we should but we should not pretend that women are victims of anything but their own choices relative to choosing to be sexually active.
I am also referring to underage girls, as well as young women. That’s why I used the term women until that last paragraph.
Even today, young girls are being sexually abused by teachers, male authority figures, older college age boyfriends, and others.
Both male and female teachers, and others, will take a young girl to the abortion clinic – even across state lines – to abort a child so that parents don’t find out. It wouldn’t look good for the pastor, teacher, boss, father, uncle, choir leader, or others to have sired a baby with a young girl under their care.

Agree on the immorality of transporting a minor across a State line or within the State for that matter to undergo any sort of procedure without knowledge of Parents/Guardians. Obviously a more complex circumstance when incest or rape is the cause. IMO, any person of authority who betrays the trust of their role as Parent, teacher, coach or whatever and has any sexual relations with a minor should be sent to prison for life if not executed.

Obviously their choice but I doubt they find someone willing to have a long-term committed relationship with them. I put those in the ‘recreational’ use category.

Family formation rates have plummeted. Ave age of marriage is now 30+ and births falling below replacement rate. Marriage satisfaction rates at about 2/3 and divorce at 50%. So roughly half end in divorce and a substantial number of the remaining marriages are unhappy, many being sexless. Younger men, under 35, ain’t really looking to get married. They have seen the damage it can cause to their Fathers, Uncles and how outdated family court statutes penalize men so seem to be avoiding it. This coupled with young women running wild offers an above average man in looks/income plenty of options to choose from and until women stop clamoring and chasing these guys I doubt they settle down.
