Israeli Airstrike Targets Hezbollah Terror Commander Behind Deadly Rocket Attack on Golan Heights’ Playground

Targeted terrorist Fuad Shukr wanted for role in 1983 Beirut Marine barracks bombing.

Israel on Tuesday evening carried out an airstrike in Beirut targeting the Hezbollah terror commander directly responsible for Saturday’s rocket attack on a playground that killed 12 children in Golan Heights.

The targeted terrorist was identified as Fuad Shukr, running Hezbollah’s extensive rocket operation. “Multiple news outlets named the terror chief targeted in the strike as Fuad Shukr, the commander of Hezbollah’s precision missile project,” the Israeli TV channel i24News reported.

Shukr is wanted for the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing that killed 241 U.S. and 58 French military personnel.

“A seasoned terrorist, Shukr is also sought by Washington for his role in the 1983 bombing of a US Marines barracks in Beirut,” the broadcaster added.

Lebanese reports suggest that Shukr may have survived the strike. “The head of Lebanese armed group Hezbollah’s operations center Fuad Shukr survived an Israeli strike on the southern suburbs of Beirut aimed at killing him, two senior security sources tell Reuters,” The Times of Israel reported.

The Israeli Air Force “carried out a targeted strike in Beirut, on the commander responsible for the murder of the children in Majdal Shams and the killing of numerous additional Israeli civilians. At the moment, there are no changes in the Home Front Command defensive guidelines,” the Israel Defense Forces confirmed Tuesday evening.

The Times of Israel reported Shukr’s role in Hezbollah’s global terrorist activities:

According to the US State Department’s Rewards for Justice program, Fuad Shukr — aka Hajj Mohsin — serves as a senior military adviser to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. He also sits on the Jihad Council, Hezbollah’s top military body.

Shukr played a “central role” in the 1983 bombing of US Marine Corps barracks that left 241 US Marines dead, according to the State Department.

The State Department reported that during the Syrian civil war he “aided [Hezbollah] fighters and pro-Syrian regime troops” as they battled anti-Assad forces.

The US placed a $5 million bounty on his head.

Hopefully, the IDF will get them all. Despite the Biden doing everything they can to dissuade an Israeli response.

Love it! Israel putting Gen. Phil Sheridan’s advice and applying it to terrorist Muslims.
