Raskin and Comer Send Joint Letter to Cheatle: ‘We Call on You to Resign as Director’ of Secret Service

Raskin: “I think that this relationship is irretrievably at this point and I think the Director has lost the confidence of Congress.”

The hearing with Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle ended with Oversight Chairman James Comer and Ranking Member Jamie Raskin announcing a joint letter demanding her resignation.

They wrote:

Director Cheatle:

On July 13, 2024, the United States Secret Service under your leadership failed to protect former President Donald Trump from an assassination attempt that took the life of Corey Comperatore and seriously injured at least two other people.

Today, you failed to provide answers to basic questions regarding that stunning operational failure and to reassure the American people that the Secret Service has learned its lessons and begun to correct its systemic blunders and failures. In the middle of a presidential election, the Committee and the American people demand serious institutional accountability and transparency that you are not providing. We call on you to resign as Director as a first step to allowing new leadership to swiftly address this crisis and rebuild the trust of a truly concerned Congress and the American people.

Granted, Raskin used his concluding statement to also push gun control and banning AR-15.

We also heard a reporter say, “That’s what we call a smackdown.”

One down, a thousand more to go. This alcoholic looking, unmade bed looks shocked.

Is this an intra-party battle between Obamaworld and Clintonworld? or something else?

I honestly think it’s purely of a reaction to public sentiment by political animals. The nation watched as an assassin came within an inch of blowing a hole in the head of a presidential candidate on national TV. He did it from a vantage point that anyone with half-a-brain should have understood to be a prime threat but was inexplicably left uncovered. Someone has to take the fall and it looks like everyone agrees it should be her.

With more than smidgen of self preservation for those who may aspire to higher office themselves. Nothing like an assassination attempt that nearly succeeded to concentrate the minds of the DC cabal into a rare nonpartisan denunciation for the failure of the Praetorian Guard to adequately safeguard the important folk from the common folk. See the hue and cry on J6.

Inner party has Emmanuel Goldstein to blame, and Eastasia to finance it all.

Most likely a panicked deep state trying to clear out anyone who might be trouble on the campaign trail and she is just the first to be thrown under the bus. Raskin is trash and for him to join the Republicans in anything shows what a mess Dems are in.

As head of the Secret Service – She was also part of the deception of Biden’s dementia

    ThePrimordialOrderedPair in reply to Joe-dallas. | July 22, 2024 at 3:26 pm

I remember “reports” a year ago that said Traitor Joe was waling the halls of the White House naked in the middle of the night with no idea where he was. Everyone knows, now if not then, that they were clearly accurate reports.

Of course, Traitor Joe prancing around naked in front of staff/secret service would be nothing new, but he used to know exactly what he was doing when he stripped for his secret service detail.

ThePrimordialOrderedPair in reply to ThePrimordialOrderedPair. | July 22, 2024 at 3:30 pm

I looked it up and that report was from Alex Jones, so I guess I can understand why most people ignored it … but it sounds like another one where he was on the mark with his information.

So you believe Alex Jones? That the Sandy Hook massacre was totally fake, and staged by gun control advocates? That 9-11 was an inside job by Jews who wanted to start a war with Muslims? You need to see a psychiatrist, soon.

          steves59 in reply to JR. | July 22, 2024 at 9:07 pm

“You need to see a psychiatrist, soon.”

Uttered without a shred of irony.
Have you had your TDS examined by competent psychiatric staff yet, One-note?

He has a way better record than you do, Einstein.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to ThePrimordialOrderedPair. | July 22, 2024 at 3:45 pm

Having “reports” in quotes is the right thing to do. Joe wandering the halls naked blah blah blah carries as much weight as the “reports” of Johnny Weismuller spending his last days in an assisted living facility giving Tarzan yodels repeatedly.

As bad a Biden is, I’d brush such reports aside as just another “can you top this?!?” story.

Everyone knows, now if not then, that they were clearly accurate reports.

No, we don’t. We already knew he had dementia, but that merely made such a story possible; it didn’t make it likely, let alone true. Nothing we’ve learned since then makes it any likelier, let alone truer.

ThePrimordialOrderedPair in reply to Milhouse. | July 22, 2024 at 5:00 pm

It was well beyond “possible”, even then. First of all, Traitor Joe had a known history of running around naked in front of secret service detail – the women, specifically. Secondly, his whole family, including himself, are known to be degenerates and perverts. Thirdly, he was (and certainly is) known to be demented and to have his level of awareness vary widely with medication. It is undoubted that his time coming off his meds are serious dementia times.

Oh grow up. There is no evidence of this at all.

    diver64 in reply to Joe-dallas. | July 23, 2024 at 5:56 am

How? It’s not her job to evaluate the President’s mental or physical health and report it to the world.

2smartforlibs | July 22, 2024 at 3:21 pm

She’s been a failure her entire career It is appalling it took this to get her out.

Raskin and Comer Will Send Joint Letter Demanding Cheatle Resign

That’s nice …

What about Mayorkas’ culpability in not immediately firing her (if she refused to turn in her resignation)??

Impeach both Cheatle and Mayorkas today.

ThePrimordialOrderedPair in reply to ThePrimordialOrderedPair. | July 23, 2024 at 1:02 am

I’m happy to report that Nancy Mace has just(?) filed a privileged impeachment motion against Kim Cheatle. The House will have to vote on it in the next 48 hours.

If both sides are demanding a resignation, the obvious inference is that she was in the dark about what happened and was the designated patsy to take the blame in order to close the case as incompetence. Convenient as a Jack. Ruby.

Her performance was a primer how not to testify, only bettered by her boss, Mayorkas.

She will last a bit longer than Biden, the guess is perhaps another 48 hours, and her boss should go next, but his job at destruction is not done.

MoeHowardwasright | July 22, 2024 at 4:13 pm

I think I know why she’s keeping quiet. Heritage Foundation just published cell phone tracing from Crooks home. Interesting that a cell phone was traced to his home and to a point near an fbi office in DC. I’ve said in other posts what if the fbi was doing an incitement/entrapment scheme with this kid. Makes sense why all of dc 3 letter agencies are trying to keep it quiet. The big question is did Wray and Myorkas know about this sting beforehand? FKH

ThePrimordialOrderedPair in reply to MoeHowardwasright. | July 22, 2024 at 4:57 pm

Yeah, that tracing data is something. Very, very interesting.

You are an insane conspiracy advocate. Do you really believe that this was an FBI attempt to assassinate Trump? I think you are really Alex Jones and posting here under an anonymous name.

MoeHowardwasright in reply to JR. | July 22, 2024 at 8:59 pm

Have you seen how the fbi has tried to incite / entrap people all over the US? If you can’t handle the fact that there is maybe a connection, well who is the fool here. I nearly pointed out the potential connection. Do you not remember that over half the so called conspirators were found innocent or not guilty? Sheesh… FKH

      steves59 in reply to JR. | July 22, 2024 at 9:09 pm

“I think you are really Alex Jones and posting here under an anonymous name.”

Again, you posted this without a shred of irony.
And I thought I told you to quit upvoting yourself, chucklehead.
      Why are you here?

ThePrimordialOrderedPair in reply to JR. | July 22, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Device location data is objective, simple data. The question is what the explanation is. What is this device? Is it connected to Crooks in any way? What was its owner doing and why was it at the locations it was at?

You cannot argue against location data, if that data is correct. You can only ask what that data means – who the device belongs to? where did he go? who did he meet? Etc.

Maybe that device has no connection to Crooks (I didn’t see if it was connected to his house or his workplace). But it must be investigated. That’s how these things work.

Now, go crawl back under your rock.

I find no evidence on the Heritage or Daily Signal website mentioning cellphone data. You have a link I could read? I find it very suspect that Heritage managed to get cellphone data which is very hard for even law enforcement at times. How did they do that?

      Milhouse in reply to diver64. | July 24, 2024 at 1:29 am

They looked up geo-location data for all phones that were near his home or work addresses and then looked up where else they went. From which they made a tentative conclusion that a phone belonging to someone with business in or around a mall with an FBI office in DC once visited Crooks’s work place, or something in its vicinity.

I don’t know why LI cites Tweets by Ian Miles Cheong, he’s a content thief, and a bad one at that.

I’m on the inside of a woke and broke DEI in the F100.

The favored skin color is no longer absolute protection. The failures who are costing money and reputation are getting encouraged to find other opportunities.

Granted this is only the ones whose decisions are costing tens of millions (or hundreds of millions for one of them). The lower level POC managers who do nothing seem to be getting a pass still.

I don’t know if this means the C-level execs will miss their bonus number for not enough black people in leadership positions or not. Many of them should be fired too – black, white, and brown.

Now that Joe Biden is released from his heavy schedule of campaigning commitments, perhaps he can devote a few minutes within his action packed 10AM to 4PM day to review the record and fire her. This has dragged on far too long.

She should be criminally investigated.

Dems have to be scared, they normally wouldn’t give a crap and rejoice in private at DJT murder by fbi hire
