‘Felt Like a Funeral’: House Democratic Caucus Meeting Ends Without a Consensus on Biden

Rep. Quigley: “He’ll bring the ticket down this time. He just has to step down because he can’t win, and my colleagues need to recognize that.”

The House Democratic Caucus held a meeting about President Joe Biden.

It’s not good. According to Jake Sherman:

INSIDE THE ROOM — The House Democratic Caucus meeting about President Joe Biden’s political standing is starting to empty out.

One House Democrat supportive of Biden told me it “felt like a funeral.”

There is definitely no consensus on Biden. Lots of talk about how difficult the situation is for Dems.

Rep. Jahana Hayes (D-Conn.) said that putting Harris atop the ticket would be setting her up for failure.

Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.) said he saw a poll recently that had Biden losing in his district. Biden won his district with 62% of the vote last time.

A few told the Roll Call staff that they were behind Biden.

Rep. Mike Quigley (D-IL) had some harsh words:

But Rep. Mike Quigley, D-Ill., left the session saying he still has concerns about Biden’s ability to run again and serve out another four-year term.

“He’ll bring the ticket down this time,” Quigley said. “He just has to step down because he can’t win, and my colleagues need to recognize that. A dismissive letter is not going to change any minds.”

Quigley wouldn’t divulge the others who feel the same way, but said they are “already off the Christmas card list.”

One member told Semafor, “The morale of the caucus is at historic lows.”

The same member said comparing the mood to funerals “is an insult to funerals.”

Joe’s doctor just released a letter saying Joe is fine. Well then, what’s the problem? They examined Jill and found out she’s bat sh!t crazy.

More like seeing your own funeral, a la Scrooge.

All we are asking
Is give Joe a chance.

He got 87% of the primary votes, the country wants him, just ask him.

Pull the rug out from under him at the Convention

Lucifer Morningstar in reply to Skip. | July 9, 2024 at 3:21 pm

But how could they do that. Supposedly the democrats have virtually nominated Biden so that he can get around the Aug. 7th cutoff date for being placed on the Ohio ballot for the upcoming election. And if they nominate anyone else at the Chicago Convention then they’d run up against that same deadline – and possibly their nominee couldn’t be placed on the Ohio ballot.

A rigged primary put on by people who intend to keep the using the wooden headed puppet. They are only sorry they got caught.

If we are lucky it is a funeral for the Democrat party.

The cabal knows they just need to wait this out. They’ll insist everything is fine. There will be pushback for a month and then the media will start falling in line. The public is stupid so once the media starts pretending Joe is 100% okay, they’ll breathe a sigh of relief, chalk this summer up to “cheap fakes” and vote for Joe and all the other democrats.

And then the next debate will come. Then the 34 felonies will be thrown out. I fear for Joe’s life as the Democrat party see’s that their best solution is him assuming room temperature especially in a way they can blame MAGA.

Forget the next debate. At the rate Joe is degenerating, he won’t even be able to read a teleprompter in 2 months. When will Dem voters simply jump ship and go to RFK?

I have no sympathy they are stuck with Sundowner.
I have known for 4 years he wasn’t going last, they hid it and walked right into their own trap.

They have no one else to take China Joe*’s place?
I’ve heard that Hillary is available

If they bring in anyone else besides
slo joe and Harris …. they can’t touch
the money in the war chest….

The problem wasn’t that it felt like a funeral, the problem was that it felt like the wrong person’s funeral.

They have been whistling past the graveyard for the entirety of Biden’s presidency, and likely, vice presidency, and now they find themselves in the graveyard, hovering over his political body.

This was the last chance for Joe to walk. A convention fight would involve several states not carrying the new candidate (since the convention ton was deliberately too late for any change). Now all they can do is work on making 81 million votes.

That’s incorrect. There was only one state (Ohio) where the unusually late date of the DNC convention was in conflict of statutory deadlines. The Ohio Governor called a special session (perhaps stupidly) and had that statute amended. Every other state cedes to ‘major parties’ a wide calendar berth in picking their respective nominees. The Democrats won’t have a problem until after Biden is nominated. Then there are statutory deadlines as well as physical printing deadlines that likely can’t be overcome because many states will begin mailing ballots on October 1st and even earlier. So, sometime in September, at the latest, is when Democrats are really sunk if they want to make a change.

VA starts early voting in Mid September.

Multiple States have a deadline earlier than the d/prog nominating convention. In my own State of Alabama the legislature approved a measure to accommodate the d/prog convention. They routinely do so passing such temporary measures for the August RNC nominating convention in ’20 as an example.

The other issue is how those measures were passed in each State. Did they all leave it up to the DNC or did they pass it for just Biden as the presumptive nominee to have ballot access?

Swapping horses from Biden to a different nominee is not as straightforward as some would have us believe. Campaign finance issues, ballot access issues, lawfare to litigate all that, d/prog sectarian conflict among their tribes and factions in a scramble for power.

‘Felt Like a Funeral’

Kamala, being an Indian (dot), will be lobbying to throw the widow on the funeral pyre. That will be the only decent thing she has ever done in her useless life.

Democrats are saying there is a threshold that cheating cannot surpass?

Quigley is my congressman. Finally, he is making some sense.

Years ago and before redistricting several times, my congressman was Henry Hyde. I sure miss Henry!

As ye sow, so shall you reap.

Reap away, Dems!

On the contrary. The ‘consensus’ is that he needs to go.

However, they have no actual plan for making him go if Jill doesn’t want to leave, and they sure as heck aren’t going to go to the trouble and horrible optics of forcibly removing him just to be stuck with Kamila, which is what a bunch of their racist members are demanding.

They’re stuck with him and some of them are melting down about it.

The d/prog should have this discussion no later than last spring. They were riding high on indictments and mug shots of Trump. The problem is they don’t have an obvious successor. They chose Biden in ’20 to be the avatar of the various tribes/factions b/c he could still play the part of ‘moderate kindly old Joe’ (we know that’s BS but it was sold to enough folks that it worked).Remember he was supposed to be the guy to defeat Trump, serve a ‘bridge’ term and then pass the torch to another generation. Instead the ’20 d/prog primary got into a nice fight with the progressive/Bernie bro/occupy wing pushing for immediate change. Jim Clyburn put his considerable political muscle/influence behind Biden in SC and rescued his candidacy. His price was Harris as VP.

So while they got what the wanted short term in ’20 they simply kicked the can of inter party conflict down the road…and this is the result with no more road. They willingly drove into a culdesac and there’s not a good way out of it. Dump Biden as nominee and they gotta use the 25th amendment or everyone will see this for what it is a desperate attempt to hold onto power. Either way Harris is the nominee or they risk PO Clyburn and his faction. Kick a multiracial female VP to the curb for who…Newsom a straight white Man…for Whitmer a Straight white Woman? Nah Cuz, they willingly hit the tar baby and got stuck IMO. No good options that don’t risk outright internal d/prog conflict that could split their fragile tribal coalition where every tribe wants their turn and their piece of the pie.

again..

lefty rants:
trump will not give up power
he only thinks of himself blah blah blah

and yet once again

in actual actions

fjb wont give up power ( though I still say he might)

..he wants desperately to be the hero of the poc for whom he soooo

denigrated for decades

The Socialist-Progressives (aka Democrats) are looking for/have found someone like Joe Biden, proclaimed by the MSM as a centrist, whom they feel will attract the most votes and ballots in the 2024. but people forget they’re not electing Joe Biden (and his ticket):
they’re electing “electors” who will cast their vote for whomever the “Party” tells them to

The problem the Communists have is it there now stuck with dementia joe. They basically refused to have any meaningful primaries and due to the process they chose all of the delegates are bound to him. Unless he releases them, they must vote for him on the first round and he will become the official nominee. The only way this changes is if he voluntarily releases the delegates or he assumes room temperature. Otherwise they got no play. I don’t feel any pity for them in this, they did it to themselves.

Biden now screaming at NATO and describing how he will get it into WWIII.

Glad they care so much about this country that they treasonously try to hide his condition until it stops being convenient for them.

I can’t believe they thought his dementia could be hidden indefinitely
