Disney Heiress, Other Major Democrat Donors Withholding Donations Until Biden Withdraws

“If Biden does not step down, the Democrats will lose. Of that, I am absolutely certain. The consequences for the loss will be genuinely dire.”

Biden’s horrible, no good, very bad week continues with embarrassing radio interviews and incoherent comments to various audiences. If the White House thought that Democrat governors pretending in public to support Biden (while letting the media know what they really think) was going to stem the tide, they were sadly mistaken.

The latest hit is coming from their biggest donors. Among them, wacky Disney heiress Abigail Disney. She and several other major Democrat donors have announced that they will not donate to Democrats (excepting some down ticket races) until Joe Biden withdraws from the 2024 race.

CNBC reports (archive link):

President Joe Biden is facing an uprising from some his own party’s wealthy donors, including an heiress to the Disney family fortune, who say they will no longer fund the Democratic Party until Biden drops out of the presidential race following his disastrous debate performance.

Abigail Disney, granddaughter of Roy O. Disney, who co-founded The Walt Disney Co., told CNBC on Thursday that she plans to withhold donations to the party she has funded for years until Biden drops out. The president has said he has no plans to withdraw from the race, despite calls for him to do so.

“I intend to stop any contributions to the party unless and until they replace Biden at the top of the ticket. This is realism, not disrespect. Biden is a good man and has served his country admirably, but the stakes are far too high,” Abigail Disney said in a lengthy statement to CNBC. “If Biden does not step down the Democrats will lose. Of that I am absolutely certain. The consequences for the loss will be genuinely dire.”

. . . . And she’s not the only one pausing gifts until Biden steps down. Gideon Stein, president of the Moriah Fund, said he’s decided to pause planned donations of $3.5 million, earmarked for nonprofits and political organizations aligned with the presidential race.

. . . . Karla Jurvetson, a philanthropist and major Democratic donor, hinted as recently as Tuesday in a private donor call that she agrees with the sentiment on pausing donations until Biden steps down and could end up making such move, according to a person familiar with her remarks. The person was granted anonymity in order to speak freely about a private conversation.

And they are not alone, other major Democrat donors are withholding donations until Biden steps aside.

The Guardian reports:

Some donors have taken the same path as Disney; to halt funding unless the Democratic candidate changes.

Screenwriter Damon Lindelof who has been a significant contributor to the party proposed on Wednesday a “DEMbargo”, withholding funding until Biden stands aside.

“When a country is not behaving how we want them to, we apply harsh economic sanctions. It’s a give and take – short term hurt for long term healing,” Lindelof wrote in Deadline.

According to CNBC, philanthropist Gideon Stein will pause almost all of a planned $3m in planned donations. “Virtually every major donor I’ve talked to believes that we need a new candidate in order to defeat Donald Trump,” Stein said.

On Wednesday, Reed Hastings, the co-founder of Netflix and a Democratic party megadonor, joined calls for Biden to take himself out of the presidential race.

Interestingly, they are not in the least concerned that Biden is clearly unfit for the office he holds today, only about who can beat Trump in November.

Even so these announcements must be causing (even more) panic in the White House. This coordinated ultimatum may be the straw that finally breaks the camel’s back and forces Biden out of the race.

They would not be airing this out publicly if they hadn’t already been shot down privately.

They’re not pissed off because he’s senile, they’re pissed off that they aren’t the ones calling the shots behind the curtain.

They’re pissed off that their useful idiots were forced to notice that he’s a dementia patient.

It was reported on FOX today that Biden went up to greet a donor and repeated to the donor what Dr. Jill had whispered in his ear. IMO Biden is not fit for any office, from Walmart greeter on up and THAT is the core issue. Fool me once (2020), shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

What is wrong with them? Everything is fine! Biden has promised to go to bed at 8 pm and get more sleep. Democrat Governors saw him privately with no cameras allowed and swear on a stack of bibles that he’s sharp as a tack.

I’m old enough to remember when the Dims assured us that the ability to handle the ‘3am phone call’ was essential in a leader.

Seems the gaslight has gone out.

“ Biden’s horrible, no good, very bad week continues …”

What a shame that Lunchpail Joe, the most American American that has ever lived, can’t enjoy a whole slate of SCOTUS decisions that reorient past wayward decisions towards the Constitution, a lively presidential debate, a couple of interviews and the kind words of so many of his ardent supporters.

From my point of view, I haven’t had a couple of weeks like this in years.

What kinds of fun do you think next week will bring?

“What kinds of fun do you think next week will bring?”

    I dunno. Democrats are anxious.
They long for the days of Camelot.
The closest they will get is Kamala a lot.

Biden will retaliate by refusing to sniff Tinker Bell’s hair.

Everyone lift a glass and toast Biden’s physicians hope they keep him going, and hope his no good family keeps him in the race because Biden already has the delegates and can’t be forced out.

Is this the end? I don’t think the bmds would be going public if they thought there was any doubt in the answer.

I sort of followed the logic until the last part, “The consequences for the loss will be genuinely dire.” Given that about 60% of the electorate think that this country is headed in the wrong direction, changing the national direction setters seems like a good thing. Haven’t the Obama & Biden administrations done enough damage? Rather keeping Biden heading this country in the wrong direction is genuinely dire.

Let us ponder this. If in the aftermath of all this somehow something tragic happens to any opposition to Biden, and/or a miraculous 350 million votes turn up for Biden after the polls close [the US population is about 336 million]; what is the basis of the legitimacy for his or his successors’ rule?

Wow. Biden singlehandedly legitimized (nay — MANDATED) a country patterned after Disney’s own Sexual Fantasyland… and this is the thanks he gets.
How sharper than a mouse’s tooth!
