Independence Day Costs Skyrocket Under Biden

Independence Day Costs Skyrocket Under Biden

Remember when Biden bragged about saving us 16 cents in 2021? Good times.

Inflation still exists.

Also, it’s INDEPENDENCE DAY. Everyone has a July 4th. Today….is our Independence Day!! (Bill Pullman from the movie Independence Day)

Independence Day cookouts will cost $71.22 for a party of 10. The party only cost $59.50 in 2021. From Fox Business:

According to the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF), a traditional Independence Day barbecue for 10 will cost $71.22, up from $59.50 in 2021. Higher prices for burger meat, buns, cheese and favorite sides like chips all add up to a painful bill to light up that grill.

“Nationally, this means we are surpassing $7 per person for the first time, with the total meal coming to $7.12 a person,” said AFBF economists Bernt Nelson and Samantha Ayoub. “Only two dishes decreased in price while everything else on your table rose, on average. Your grocery bill may be a shock, but it is in line with the inflation that has roiled the economy — including the farm economy — over the last several years.”

AFBF’s market basket survey enlisted volunteers from around the nation to catalog prices for a complete, homemade cookout featuring cheeseburgers, chicken breasts, pork chops, potato chips, homemade potato salad, fresh-squeezed lemonade, chocolate chip cookies and, of course, ice cream.

Remember when Biden bragged about saving us 16 cents in 2021? Good times.

This year?

  • Lemonade went up 12%, averaging $4.19 due to the cost of the ingredients.
  • 2lbs of ground beef averages $12.77. In 2021? $8.20
  • 3lbs of pork chops averages $15.49 and “$19.91 in California, where the state banned in-state meat sales from animals whose production didn’t meet California animal welfare standards, regardless of where they were raised.”
  • Hamburger buns average $2.41, “up 7% year-over-year.”
  • Cheese is only up 1% from last year, averaging $3.57.
  • Chips average $4.90, an increase of 8% from last year.

The cost of celebrating Independence Day has gone up. So what?
I’m so old I can remember when we used to have something to celebrate.

I’m so old. I remember it was called Independence Day, not forthage allie.

No one but the dog ate the Schumer cheeseburgers.

waiting to see if/when blmplo try to disrupt some of the festivities

Cost of boneless chicken breast in my grocery was at $2.79 a pound. Where is it under the $2.00 as shown in the chicken price picture? I’ll stock up.

DW, my Queen of Queens of Couponers, reports Basha’s loss leader for this week is boneless skinless chicken breasts — and pork shoulder roast — both at $0.99.

Who can feed 10 people at 7 a piece these days??? Those numbers seem low.

The cost of freedom keeps going up.

Unfortunately the amount of freedom keeps going down.

While your guests are splashing in the pool, thank Joe for the fact that the bucket of chlorine that cost you $70 five years ago now costs you $200.

And don’t get me started on the cost of ammo, my major July 4 expenditure.

That is one strange 4th cookout. Pork chops and chicken breasts but no steak and hot dogs?
