OK, Prof., let me promote this from the tip-line…

I think it deserves some exposure.

You would think by this time that the urbane sophisticates in the news media would be totally hip to the “Washington Monument” strategy, whereby the Park Service closes the most popular attractions first in the event of budget constraints. It’s the oldest bureaucratic trick in the book, and a mark of how far the corruption of our republic has proceeded: if the spenders don’t get their way, they’ll cut back first on the most essential services for which we presume to pay our first tax dollars.

snip

Republicans should do more than just prepare legislation providing “flexibility” to the executive branch to administer these tiny budget cuts. They should prepare detailed budget cuts of their own department-by-department, providing exact line items of what programs can be cut or delayed under a sequester in the Dept. of Transportation, for example, so that it is not necessary to cut back on air traffic controllers in the towers, or food safety inspectors at USDA. They should announce these on a daily basis, as well as highlighting just one wasteful program in each department every day. The Pentagon should not be exempt from this, either. I’m sure the Pentagon can delay sexual harassment training programs for a few months, or can tell some colonels to drive their own cars to base instead of having a personal driver.

Sounds like good sense to me.

Republicans should…prepare detailed budget cuts of their own department-by-department, providing exact line items of what programs can be cut or delayed under a sequester…

Congress was given that authority under the BUDGET CONTROL ACT OF 2011.

    (b) Adjustments to Discretionary Spending Limits.–
“(1) Concepts and definitions.–When the President submits the budget under section 1105 of title 31, United States Code, OMB shall calculate and the budget shall include adjustments to discretionary spending limits (and those limits as cumulatively adjusted) for the budget year and each outyear to reflect changes in concepts and definitions. Such changes shall equal the baseline levels of new budget authority and outlays using up-to-date concepts and definitions, minus those levels using the concepts and definitions in effect before such changes. Such changes may only be made after consultation with the Committees on Appropriations and the Budget of the House of Representatives and the Senate, and that consultation shall include written communication to such committees that affords such committees the opportunity to comment before official action is taken with respect to such changes.

Will they use it? Color me cynical…

Not quite, doc. This from redstate. Looks like the North Carolina Lefties have borrowed a page from Uncle Joe Stalin, Chairman Mao, and maybe a little bit from Bill Ayers and the Weather Underground. Emperor Obama is planning his Communist takeover of the United States, state by state,by state.

Re-posted from below..

The Professor’s post and Leslie’s indicate that this..

“Alinsky’s tactics were based, not on Stalin’s revolutionary violence, but on the Neo-Marxist strategies of Antonio Gramsci, an Italian Communist. Relying on gradualism, infiltration and the dialectic process rather than a bloody revolution, Gramsci’s transformational Marxism was so subtle that few even noticed the deliberate changes“.

Is most definitely working and the Left has twice elected, the most perfect dummy to lead the “gradualism”.

John Roberts began the slide, The David Gregory fiasco, put the frosting on top. Green lighted for at least four more years folks. The subtly must be met head on, by any means.

There was another shooting in California. The man (muslim-sounding name)shot a female in his home, then went on a rampage killing, hijacking a car, then committing suicide.
No shouts of ‘All You Snackbars’ reported …yet.

First thought of every lib is “BAN NASCAR”

First thought of NASCAR is “How do we, through diligence, effort, and hard work, make it safer.”

The Blaze has a Dan Bongino youtube clip that appears to be going viral. Bongino gave an off the cuff speech on second amendment rights that is pretty terrific. It is such a shame he was a terrific candidate but running in the wrong state. If only we could have transported him to Missouri to take on ObamaClaire.

DAMN that rogue AutoPen…!!!

“The forced budget cuts were created during the 2011 debt ceiling debacle. They were passed by Congress and signed by the White House.”

The structure denied all involvement…

Speaking of slow news days, it seems to me that our society has really lost the concept of the “Day of rest”. In Jewish and Christian theology, the Sabbath is as important to our faith and spiritual health as it is to our physical health.

I’m glad there are “Slow news days”, it means that we get a break for the divisive political theatre, from the worry of international intriques and from the violence that the media seems to love to report on, (i.e. if it bleeds, it leads).

So, please, everyone, enjoy your “Slow news days” Take the time to recover for the next wave of media slop to come down the chute 🙂

‘Spousal Cutouts’ Becoming More Common Because of Obamacare

It’s a sad state of affairs when young people can’t afford even a blow-up doll…

(OK. I’ll stop now…)

I’m a little baffled on how little attention has been paid to the SC decision on “Officer X says his dog sniffed drugs in a car, therefore it is completely legal to search the car, and use *anything* found as evidence.”

It just leaves giant foot/paw prints all over the Constitution’s prohibition on illegal searches and seizures. It permits any officer with a dog to pick any vehicle, do a ‘random’ stop, walk the dog around it once, and proceed to have it torn apart, looking for drugs. Add in the present opinion on seizure together with a certain lowering of funding for police agencies, and anybody with a nice new car the police can sell becomes a giant shakedown target.

Throw in the upcoming SC decision if dogs can be used the same way on residences, and all heck breaks loose.

Thinking about complaining about it? All it takes is one corrupt officer with a dog and a couple packets of coke, and both your cars and your house suddenly become “proceeds of drug dealing”, while you get to experience seizure heck until you get your mind right.
