An anti-Israel protester stabbed a Yale Jewish student in the eye.

Passover is a significant Jewish holiday. It begins at sundown on Monday. It marks the Jewish people’s escape from slavery in Egypt:

For the last of the ten plagues, God asked the Jews to sacrifice a lamb or goat and smear its blood on their doorposts as a way to show that their house was Jewish. Then God went through all the houses and killed the first-born son of every Egyptian house, passing over the Jewish homes. In Hebrew, Passover is called Pesach, meaning “to pass over.”

This last plague pushed Pharaoh to set the Israelites free. Since they had to leave quickly, they didn’t have time to wait for their bread to rise. This is why Jews eat matzah, a flat, unleavened bread, and refrain from eating grains on Passover.

The Pharaoh and his army attempted to pursue the Israelites as they left Egypt, but Moses parted the Red Sea, allowing the Israelites to escape.

The Passover holiday both celebrates the freedom of the Israelites and commemorates their suffering in Egypt.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence these anti-Israel dumbs chose this week to amp up their hatred.

Columbia University

Columbia University. Man, I don’t know what to say.

The professors are taking part, too.

Columbia officials told students they could attend classes and take exams virtually on Monday due to the anti-Israel protesters covering the lawns.

Professor Shai Davidai requested Columbia give him a police escort.

Rabbi Elie Buechler, a rabbi associated with Columbia University’s Orthodox Union Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus, advised Jewish students to leave campus and return home to avoid “extreme antisemitism and anarchy.”

“It is not our job as Jews to ensure our own safety on campus,” wrote Buechler. “No one should have to endure this level of hatred, let alone at school.”

The White House condemned antisemitism but didn’t directly address the chaos at Columbia. It was in a statement on Passover, where Biden also brought up the mythical two-state solution the left is so insistent will happen:

The ancient story of persecution against Jews in the Haggadah also reminds us that we must speak out against the alarming surge of Antisemitism – in our schools, communities, and online. Silence is complicity. Even in recent days, we’ve seen harassment and calls for violence against Jews. This blatant Antisemitism is reprehensible and dangerous – and it has absolutely no place on college campuses, or anywhere in our country. My Administration will continue to speak out and aggressively implement the first-ever National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism, putting the full force of the federal government behind protecting the Jewish community.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams:

“I am horrified and disgusted with the antisemitism being spewed at and around the Columbia University campus — like the example of a young woman holding a sign with an arrow pointing to Jewish students stating ‘Al-Qasam’s Next Targets,’ or another where a woman is literally yelling ‘We are Hamas,’ or another where groups of students are chanting ‘We don’t want no Zionists here’ — and I condemn this hate speech in the strongest of terms. Supporting a terrorist organization that aims to kill Jews is sickening and despicable. As I have repeatedly said, hate has no place in our city, and I have instructed the NYPD to investigate any violation of law that is reported. Rest assured, the NYPD will not hesitate to arrest anyone who is found to be breaking the law.

“We will not be a city of lawlessness, and those professional agitators seeking to seize the ongoing conflict in the Middle East to sow chaos and division in our city will not succeed.

“I do, however, want to be abundantly clear: Columbia University is a private institution on private property, which means the NYPD cannot have a presence on campus unless specifically requested by senior university officials. The NYPD has an increased presence of officers situated around the campus to protect students and all New Yorkers on nearby public streets, and they stand ready to respond if another request is made by the university, as they did on Thursday, when the NYPD successfully cleared encampments on Columbia’s South Lawn without any injuries.

Michael Rappaport, who has been the most outspoken Jewish liberal and celebrity, told off those protesting at Columbia.

Yale

A Yale Jewish student said an anti-Israel protester stabbed her in the eye with the pole holding a Palestinian flag:

Sahar Tartak, editor-in-chief of the Yale Free Press, had been covering the protest, which had drawn hundreds of students in support of Palestinians, when she says she was surrounded by a mob of protesters.

Tartak said the protest had been slowly brewing for the week prior, with students setting up a tent encampment in the middle of campus and creating a memorial to a Palestinian terrorist, Walid Daqqa. The crowd had also created a mock F-16 covered in fake blood to protest the Israeli military.

This activity, Tartak said, culminated in hundreds of students gathering at the plaza, chanting slogans like: “There is one solution, intifada revolution.”

When Tartak went Saturday night to cover the protest with a friend, the crowd instantly singled them out because they were “identifiably Jewish,” she said.

“They made a human blockade in front of us and blockaded us whenever we tried to exercise our freedom of movement around the protest,” Tartak said.

At some point, she and her friend were separated. The protesters formed a circle around her, chanting incendiary slogans and taunting her.

“One of the students, whose face was covered in a keffiyeh, took a Palestinian flag that he was holding, waved it in my face and hit my left eye,” Tartak said.

Monday morning, police began arresting students at the encampment at Beinecke Plaza. Over 2450 students converged on the plaza on Sunday night.

Dear Jews: Do you think this will end well? Why?

It certainly will not stop on its own.

Ran across this today. Jewish people should be buying guns and ammo.

“Every conflict against Israel unfurls the same way: Its enemies threaten or attack the country. Israel responds and heads for a victory. Only then does the world demand ‘restraint.’ Finally, the antagonists demand Israel rewind history to a more convenient spot.” —David Harsanyi

These kids are clueless. However, once they graduate, because they will have ivy league degrees, many will be fast tracked into positions of authority both in the private and public sectors. The communist/socialist perspective ingrained in their thinking will dictate new policy, rules and laws. The nation cannot survive this onslaught.

Any students squatting on campus in the “encampments” needs to be put on notice that if they do not leave, they will be expelled. Any non-student needs to be trespassed.

In her statement, the president of Columbia said that “students across an array of communities felt threatened”. Other than the Jewish students, show me a student from just one other group…just one. Betcha you can’t.

No other community is so threatened These universities are cesspools for anti Semitism

The Gentle Grizzly | April 22, 2024 at 8:25 am

Something rattling around in my head this morning is a question. How many law firms will – publicly or privately – start rejecting Yale, Columbia, and Haa-vahd students for internships, and graduates for the lawyer staff?

The filthy Brownshirts in the streets are pro-terrorism and antisemitic. Blocking streets is not protest. It’s interfering with the rights of people who wish to use the streets for their intended purpose. Threatening and assaulting Jews and others is not protest, it’s criminal conduct. If the terrorist-lover is here on a visa, the person should be deported. If the terrorist lover is a citizen the person should be arrested and jailed. When the university looks the other way and refuses to thwart the terrorist lovers, it should be cut off from public funding.

Cancel student visas and deport them.

Important to not lose sight of the fact that the most dangerous places in the US for Jews today are (not coincidentally) also the most progressives enclaves in the nation.

Keffiyah scarves are the new brownshirts. And blackshirts. And Mao suits.

You can’t win a who’s the biggest victim argument and this is just a stage of not winning it. The it’s thrown right back into the same low-IQ fight!

Dolce Far Niente in reply to rhhardin. | April 22, 2024 at 9:58 am

How about we change the argument to who is and who isn’t breaking American law? Every one gets to keep their private opinions but no one gets to violate fundamental rights of others.

Even the Holocaust deniers and Jewhaters so prevalent on the Left are entitled to their beliefs, however hideous and hateful they are to rational people. How they express those beliefs is the issue here, not their level of perceived victimization.

The argument is that our victimhood is so great that it’s no wonder that we violate the law, as with every illegal protest. The moral high ground move. The role of the dean, according to Wayne Booth at U Chicago, is fund raising and riot control.

Not publicizing it would help. The outrage is what they play to. Yet here it is as clickbait.

CommoChief in reply to rhhardin. | April 22, 2024 at 10:51 am

I am not sure about your point here. You seem to arguing that everyone should just pretend these anti Semitic/anti Western Civilization goons are not blocking access to campus, that they aren’t blocking roads and attempting to hold portions of the Nation hostage.

Ignoring them won’t make them go away or diminish their numbers, in fact it is the opposite. Downplaying the seriousness of these goons is how we got here and IMO it is past time to meet them with the same level of ruthless resolve they have displayed in order to not only defeat them but utterly rout them so completely that the next several generations are spared any repetition.

rhhardin in reply to CommoChief. | April 22, 2024 at 11:23 am

School shootings are covered because of the clicks they get, which are sold to advertisers. Everybody knows that it encourages more school shootings but clicks are at stake, and that’s that.

The protestors aren’t road blockers, they’re attention seekers.

CommoChief in reply to CommoChief. | April 22, 2024 at 2:22 pm

Well yes they are seeking ‘attention’ just like a toddler lashing out. The sort of hands off meek ‘Mommy style’ response you seem to be pushing here has resulted in more of the same. IMO it is past time for a more ‘Daddy’ response of hands on discipline followed by as many repetitions as it takes for lesson to be absorbed.

These folks will not stop blocking roads, blocking campus access, harassment of those they disfavor until/unless they are made to stop by employment of force against them to effect an arrest followed by imprisonment for their crimes.

They are not willing to have a reasonable debate and exchange ideas and opinions in a civil manner, therefore the only prudent response to their intransigent tantrums is to apply uncivil force not only until they stop but past that to the point where they are fearful of future consequences, so fearful they renounce these sorts of uncivil actions.

CommoChief, his point is that he loves it when Jewish students are intimidated and assaulted. That’s how hardin rolls.

alaskabob in reply to rhhardin. | April 22, 2024 at 10:55 am

“Violence is the voice of the voiceless.” Considering how obstreperous the “protestors” are, not exactly voiceless. But, as NBC reported, peaceful. Thankfully not mostly peaceful… for now.

Thad Jarvis in reply to rhhardin. | April 22, 2024 at 11:28 am

You’re like a fucking windup toy of pretentious vapid stupidity.

FOAF in reply to rhhardin. | April 23, 2024 at 3:59 am

I knew you’d come up with a “moral equivalence” argument hardin you Jew-hating worm. Isn’t it enough that you’ve been pleasuring yourself for more than six months over Hamas 10/7 snuff videos?

“This isn’t anti-Zionism. It’s blatant antisemitism.”
******
I never quite understood this type of statement.. Anti-Zionism is socially “acceptable “while antisemitism isn’t. Seems to ,me, just the opposite. Antisemitism, don’t like Jews for whatever reason; Anti-Zi0nism, elimination of 7 million Jews from Middle-East and likely another 7 million world wide.

Do any of these loudmouthed morons actually think that the chaos they’re causing actually helps their so-called “cause”? And if yes, how exactly?

I’d bet $100 that the majority of these assholes couldn’t even locate Israel or Gaza on a world map if asked.
