Biden Claims He Didn’t Proclaim Easter Sunday ‘Trans Day of Visibility’

Uh, yeah, you did, Joe.

President Joe Biden claimed he never proclaimed easter Sunday as Trans Day of Visibility:

President Biden on Monday said Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) was “uninformed” in his criticism of the White House for the Easter holiday falling on the same day as Transgender Day of Visibility.

“He’s thoroughly uninformed,” Biden said during Monday’s Easter Egg Roll when asked about Johnson’s criticism.

“Uninformed how?” a reporter asked.

“I didn’t do that,” Biden responded.

Is this common? Do other people just sign off on these proclamations?

Oh, look. I’m correct!

Politico’s senior political columnist, ladies and gentlemen. He also just had to mention Trump, too.

These people have no self-awareness.

What does this say about Biden and the people around him? I figured I never joke when I say Biden does the bidding of the man behind the curtain. There is literally a man behind the curtain.

But hey, let’s go ahead and nominate and elect two old guys, especially one who has shown signs of mentally being out of it.

We need a Year of Presidential INvisibility.

They actually think this is a winning argument. It’s an idiotic, made-up nonsense day that 99% of Americans had no idea existed until you made this public virtue-signaling nonsense.

And you made the ‘pre-announcement’ of it on Good Friday. Was that not your fault, either?

And if you have any doubts about what this is about, compare the two ‘statements’.

On Easter: Jill and I send our warmest wishes to Christians around the world celebrating Easter Sunday. Easter reminds us of the power of hope and the promise of Christ’s Resurrection.

As we gather with loved ones, we remember Jesus’ sacrifice. We pray for one another and cherish the blessing of the dawn of new possibilities. And with wars and conflict taking a toll on innocent lives around the world, we renew our commitment to work for peace, security, and dignity for all people.

From our family to yours, happy Easter and may God bless you.

‘Hey guys, I’ve been forced to issue this crappy little statement, happy Easter, now let me use it to try to get a bit of political boost out of it’.

And here’s his statement on ‘trans visibility’:

On Transgender Day of Visibility, we honor the extraordinary courage and contributions of transgender Americans and reaffirm our Nation’s commitment to forming a more perfect Union — where all people are created equal and treated equally throughout their lives.

I am proud that my Administration has stood for justice from the start, working to ensure that the LGBTQI+ community can live openly, in safety, with dignity and respect. I am proud to have appointed transgender leaders to my Administration and to have ended the ban on transgender Americans serving openly in our military. I am proud to have signed historic Executive Orders that strengthen civil rights protections in housing, employment, health care, education, the justice system, and more. I am proud to have signed the Respect for Marriage Act into law, ensuring that every American can marry the person they love.

Transgender Americans are part of the fabric of our Nation. Whether serving their communities or in the military, raising families or running businesses, they help America thrive. They deserve, and are entitled to, the same rights and freedoms as every other American, including the most fundamental freedom to be their true selves. But extremists are proposing hundreds of hateful laws that target and terrify transgender kids and their families — silencing teachers; banning books; and even threatening parents, doctors, and nurses with prison for helping parents get care for their children. These bills attack our most basic American values: the freedom to be yourself, the freedom to make your own health care decisions, and even the right to raise your own child. It is no surprise that the bullying and discrimination that transgender Americans face is worsening our Nation’s mental health crisis, leading half of transgender youth to consider suicide in the past year. At the same time, an epidemic of violence against transgender women and girls, especially women and girls of color, continues to take too many lives. Let me be clear: All of these attacks are un-American and must end. No one should have to be brave just to be themselves.

At the same time, my Administration is working to stop the bullying and harassment of transgender children and their families. The Department of Justice has taken action to push back against extreme and un-American State laws targeting transgender youth and their families and the Department of Justice is partnering with law enforcement and community groups to combat hate and violence. My Administration is also providing dedicated emergency mental health support through our nationwide suicide and crisis lifeline — any LGBTQI+ young person in need can call “988” and press “3” to speak with a counselor trained to support them. We are making public services more accessible for transgender Americans, including with more inclusive passports and easier access to Social Security benefits. There is much more to do. I continue to call on the Congress to pass the Equality Act, to codify civil rights protections for all LGBTQI+ Americans.

Today, we send a message to all transgender Americans: You are loved. You are heard. You are understood. You belong. You are America, and my entire Administration and I have your back.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility. I call upon all Americans to join us in lifting up the lives and voices of transgender people throughout our Nation and to work toward eliminating violence and discrimination based on gender identity.

Wow. Can you spot the difference in how much effort went into each of these two statements?

Milhouse in reply to JR. | April 1, 2024 at 10:22 pm

Trump never proclaimed the Transgender whatever day. The alphabet people were observing it, as was their right, but they had no official recognition from the president. Biden has given the day official recognition every year since 2021. He didn’t choose the coincidence that this year Easter fell on it, but he did choose to have it be a “national day” in the first place.

Gosport in reply to JR. | April 2, 2024 at 12:03 am

Easter has been celebrated annually for the last 2024 years. Biden’s handlers have recognized the trans day 4 times now.

Biden’s staff own calendars and they knew very well that the dates would clash this weekend. They chose this date on purpose, but not wisely as they didn’t get the result they wanted.

Milhouse in reply to Gosport. | April 2, 2024 at 1:36 am

They didn’t choose the date. Both days had already been chosen long ago, each without any regard for the other. That they happened to be on the same day this year was not anyone’s design.

What you’re demanding is that they should have announced that this year they’re refusing to recognize the trans day, just because some other day decided to camp on their date. That would be a slap in the face to those people, for no good reason.

The only valid question is why this administration was giving official recognition to the trans day in the first place, but that decision was made more than three years ago, when nobody was thinking about how it would work this year.

henrybowman in reply to Milhouse. | April 2, 2024 at 10:52 am

“That would be a slap in the face to those people, for no good reason.”

Here’s a reason: it’s their turn to take the hit.

God knows Biden slaps me in the face one way or another almost monthly. No one seems to get all weepy over that.

Gosport in reply to Milhouse. | April 2, 2024 at 11:10 am

“Both days had already been chosen long ago, each without any regard for the other.”

Just a coincidence then right? Don’t be naive.

Easter had been on the calendar for centuries when these people (Biden’s handlers) started scheming to create a trans day that would gain the highest impact and ‘visibility’ for their cause. The implied endorsement of their trans agenda over traditional religious beliefs was exactly what they wanted and of course Biden played right along.

The fact that the WH designated a trans day is meaningless unless it is shoved into people’s faces in the most disrespectful/controversial way, and it just was.

If I was to demand anything it would have been that the president respect a religious holiday that most Americans recognize if not celebrate fervently.

in short, this was a crisis deliberately manufactured by Biden’s handlers, designed to pit trans agenda against Christianity in the most provocative and publicized way possible.

Milhouse in reply to Milhouse. | April 3, 2024 at 2:06 am

Gosport, are you seriously claiming that 15 years ago, when the trans people chose March 31 as their special day, they did it specifically because once in a while Easter happens to fall on that date?! And that they expected it to get White House recognition before that happened?! Bear in mind that it won’t happen again until 2086. So if they’d missed the window for White House recognition by just a few years the whole plan would, according to you, have been wasted. Does that seriously make any sense to you?!

puhiawa in reply to JR. | April 2, 2024 at 2:53 am

No other president ever acknowledged it. It was simply too stupid. What do you mean stop it? It is not a real holiday. Tranny’s have 50 of these clap trap days.

Milhouse in reply to puhiawa. | April 3, 2024 at 2:09 am

Of course it’s not a “real holiday”. None of these “National Day of this or that” are. They all happen because some group lobbies the White House staff, who draw up a proclamation and give it to the president to sign, the president gives it maybe 30 seconds’ worth of attention and decides whether to sign it or not, and promptly forgets about it.

“Oh yeah, I guess some of you – US, I mean us – also celebrate Easter, that Day of Resurrection, so there’s that too.”

Probably a big part of this sort of tone deafness is simply lack of awareness by second rate, at best, staffers who didn’t take a look at the date and notice a potential problem. These folks are not personally very religious nor are they are even aware of the date Easter would be observed.

IMO it boils down to incompetence and a disinterest in religion that borders on callousness. Especially so when they are confronted with their stupidity and the spin machine begins to whirl out excuses and denials that blame the rest of us for seeing what the Biden WH did.

TargaGTS in reply to CommoChief. | April 1, 2024 at 4:04 pm

I think that’s the most charitable explanation. The more likely explanation, IMHO, is that this is nothing less than naked hostility of those same staffer towards people who believe in the Divinity of Jesus.

CommoChief in reply to TargaGTS. | April 1, 2024 at 5:11 pm

Don’t disagree about the hostility but I honestly believe they don’t have an ‘adult’ monitoring the woke weirdo ideologues who make up the bulk of the staff. These second rate, at best, folks many of them DEI hires routinely stick their d#%k in the fan with crap like this.

No question that a choice was made to proceed despite the conflict with Easter. Either they didn’t notice, didn’t care and/or the ‘adults’ were overruled when this conflict and foreseeable push back was pointed out to the ideologues.

alaskabob in reply to CommoChief. | April 1, 2024 at 4:33 pm

CommoChief in reply to alaskabob. | April 1, 2024 at 5:43 pm

Which means they probably don’t know that the Eastern Orthodox observance of Easter is in May. Frankly I am not sure how many Christians who aren’t Eastern Orthodox know that.

The Laird of Hilltucky in reply to CommoChief. | April 1, 2024 at 7:24 pm

Also, many people don’t know and understand that the crucifixion of Yeshua (Jesus) had to coincide with Passover. Yeshuah (Jesus) IS the Lamb. We Christians are not usually taught that someone at sometime tried to separate Christianity from Judaism and the Old Testament.

FWIW, I searched and found that Passover occurs in April this year.

We Christians should never ignore that Yeshuah (Jesus) said there would be only one sign given, “For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” Matthew 12:40 (NIV) So why are we taught that there were NOT three days and three nights between the crucifixion and the resurrection? The sixth day of the week to the first day of the week doesn’t work.

Because there is a 13th month this leap year in the Jewish lunar calendar. This year Passover begins about 28 days after Easter.

Yep. A large number of folks who nominally refer to themselves as ‘Christians’ have a minimal knowledge of how/why the various sects believe X instead of Y, why that doctrine is important to the sect or the influences of other religions/cultures upon Christianity.

Christians made a conscious decision in the 4th century to disconnect Easter from Passover. (In fact they made it a rule that Easter can never fall on Passover, and if it does it must be delayed a week, just so they would not be mistaken for Jews; Catholics later dropped this rule, but Orthodox still keep it. 4th century Christians were very antisemitic.)

The reason Passover is a month late this year is because the Jewish calendar is based on an average year length of 365.2468 days, while the Gregorian calendar works on an average year length of 365.2425. (The actual sun has an average year of 365.2422, so Gregory got it almost right.) The accumulated error is about a week, so the Jewish calendar assumes the March equinox is on March 28 rather than 21.

Orthodox Christians use the Julian calendar which is even more inaccurate, with an average year length of 364.25 days, so it assumes the equinox is on April 3. Also, its lunar calculation is about 4 days off, so it’s actually deeming the full moon to be on the 18th day rather than the 14th.

Olinser in reply to CommoChief. | April 1, 2024 at 4:55 pm

Yeah they totally had no idea, that’s why they made a big deal about their ‘pre-announcement’ that it was coming up going out on Good Friday.

If they had just done it on Sunday, there would have been significantly less backlash. But they had to make sure everybody knew in advance what they were doing, and they did it on Good Friday.

CommoChief in reply to Olinser. | April 1, 2024 at 5:13 pm

TBH it seems worse to me that they didn’t know and now are trying to act like it didn’t happen or doesn’t matter than if they did know and did it anyway.

Lucifer Morningstar in reply to Olinser. | April 1, 2024 at 7:00 pm

If they hadn’t done it at all and simply had the traditional White House egg hunt as every other president in the past has done then they’d not have any backlash or controversy. But nope, that would be too fecking easy for the Biden regime. They had to attempt to make it into some kind of political campaign statement about transgenders.

And heck, why do transgenders need a “day of visibility” in the first place. They stick their mental illness in everyone’s face all the time as it is. They ain’t invisible, that’s for sure.

If they had refused to proclaim the trans day this year, after having done it the three previous years, there would definitely have been a backlash by the alphabet lobby, who would rightly see it as a slap in the face. Especially if it were done because some other holiday decided to take over their date, and the president was giving privilege to that day over them.

wendybar in reply to Milhouse. | April 2, 2024 at 5:08 am

They chose and they lost. The backlash they are receiving over the little backlash they would have gotten from the mentally ill. They chose to have made a BIGGER mess of it, than they would have if they ignored it. THEY did this.

henrybowman in reply to Milhouse. | April 2, 2024 at 10:57 am

It was a calculated choice. The Christians were less likely to shoot them in the face and slaughter their children.

Milhouse in reply to Olinser. | April 2, 2024 at 1:50 am

They didn’t make a “big deal” or a “pre-announcement”. Special days (of which there seem to be more than 365 a year) are always proclaimed a few days in advance, so the few people who care about them can celebrate them properly. It’s usually a meaningless gesture that the president maybe gives 30 seconds’ attention to.

CommoChief in reply to gonzotx. | April 1, 2024 at 5:04 pm

Separate funding and separate trusts exist for Social Security Retirement and Social.Security Disability.

The main reasons Social Security retirement is fast approaching a 25% cut in benefits are lack of adequate funding (taxes) to reflect longer life spans, the decision by Congress to make increased payouts for inflation automatic and an increase in base benefits during the last ‘reform’.

CommoChief in reply to CommoChief. | April 1, 2024 at 7:47 pm

More accurate would be that SSI (supplemental security income) program comes from general revenue. Both the disability and retirement funding comes from social security taxes but the disability trust is expected to remain ‘solvent’ without benefit cuts or additional taxes until 2096 while the retirement trust will have redeemed all the bonds it holds by 2033/34. From that point the monthly social security taxes on the workforce are projected to be able to pay out roughly 75% of benefits promised.

JR in reply to gonzotx. | April 1, 2024 at 7:27 pm

If you really, honestly, believe that the the reason that Social Security is not solvent is because of trans, then you never even moved beyond first grade math.

Trump won 60% of the Protestant Christian vote in 2020. I can easily see that eclipsing. 65% this November. I’m not sure what the record is. But, I suspect it’s not much more than 65%…if it’s even that. He’ll also lose the Catholic vote. But, it will be by a smaller number.

This vile and evil crime boss — literally, the quintessential personification of the utterly and unrepentantly corrupt, self-enriching, mendacious, greasy and entitled career, D.C. Swamp apparatchik — has only been ensconced in the White House geriatric ward for a little over three years, but, his interminably destructive reign feels as though it’s lasted over one decade, at least.

Well, now that it’s official that Joe didn’t sign a proclamation declaring March 31st to be a “transgender day of visibility” I’ve permanently archived the press release stating he did indeed sign such a proclamation so that if the Biden regime attempts too gaslight the public and claim it never happened it’ll still be available.

https://archive.is/7tHGQ

President Joe Biden claimed he never proclaimed easter Sunday as Trans Day of Visibility:

This is a standard piece of journalistic malpractice, and I’m surprised you fell for it. Biden never made any such claim.

I’ve just read five different news reports, all of which quote him as saying “I didn’t do that”, but none of them provide a quote to show what “that” is. They all merely characterize “that” in their own words and claim that that is what Biden denied doing. When one reporter does that you should be suspicious enough to look for other reports. When they all do it you should assume it’s not an accident, and they’re all lying.

In order to know what Biden was denying having done, you have to have the exact words put to him. I finally found them:
Reporter: Sir, Speaker Johnson said you betrayed the tenet of Easter by proclaiming Sunday, Easter Sunday, as Transgender Day. He called that outrageous and abhorrent. What do you say to Speaker Johnson?
Biden: He’s thoroughly uninformed.
Reporter: Uninformed how?
Biden: I didn’t do that.

Even that’s not perfect, because it cuts Biden off in mid-sentence, immediately after those words. It’s clear that he hadn’t finished speaking, but we are not given any information about what he said next. But at least we know what had been put to him, that he denied, and it was that he had “betrayed the tenet of Easter”. Naturally he doesn’t believe he did that, and naturally he would call Johnson uninformed for claiming he did. He didn’t deny having proclaimed the day, he denied that that was a betrayal of Easter’s tenet, and called Johnson uninformed about Christian tenets.

Since those are inherently a matter of opinion, all we can say is that Biden and Johnson clearly have very different ideas of what Easter is about, but we can’t say which of them is correct, if any.

Stuytown in reply to Milhouse. | April 2, 2024 at 1:04 am

Good post Milhouse. You are definitely right that there is journalistic malpractice. You are definitely right that we should slow down and think more critically when we read. But I think you may be giving Biden the benefit of the doubt. Based on context you still cannot rule out that Biden was denying his proclaiming of the day itself. You are correct that he may have been denying betrayal of the day. Without the full transcript there is no way to know.

Milhouse in reply to Stuytown. | April 2, 2024 at 2:00 am

I can’t completely rule it out, but it’s not the most natural reading of the sentence.

Treguard in reply to Stuytown. | April 2, 2024 at 2:04 am

I run a quiz, and no quiz pedant would *ever* claim what Milhouse just tried. Words have meanings. The article is bang on accurate.

If you run your quiz with the level of dishonesty shown in this piece of garbage reporting, then you are a deeply evil and dishonest person.

Words do have meaning, and that is precisely the point. The article is a big fat lie. Biden NEVER denied having proclaimed the day, and anyone claiming he did is a liar.

Antifundamentalist | April 1, 2024 at 10:21 pm

I’m sure Biden is telling the truth, so far as he remembers anyway. But he just admitted that he isn’t actually the one in charge of the decisions coming out of his office and in his name…. Which leads us to the question: Who is running the country? Is it his wife, his staff, some unnamed committee, or some guy standing behind a curtain issuing orders unseen by those who follow them?

No, he didn’t admit that. It’s almost certainly true, but he didn’t admit it.

Treguard in reply to Milhouse. | April 2, 2024 at 2:05 am

Yes, Milhouse. It is *exactly* what he claimed: “I didn’t do ‘that’: He DID betray the tenet of Easter by proclaiming Sunday, Easter Sunday, as Transgender Day.

Milhouse in reply to Treguard. | April 2, 2024 at 8:40 am

What “tenet of Easter” is betrayed by proclaiming a completely unrelated event on the same day, and who says that is such a tenet? Even if you and Johnson seriously think such a tenet exists, Biden is just as entitled as you to his own opinion, and he clearly disagrees.

I remind you that deliberately refraining from proclaiming an event one usually does proclaim, simply because Easter happened to occur on the same day, would come close to establishing a religion.

President Biden: Jill and I send our warmest wishes to Christians around the world celebrating Easter Sunday. Easter reminds of the power of hope and the promise of Christ’s Resurrection.

Donald Trump: HAPPY EASTER TO ALL, INCLUDING CROOKED AND CORRUPT PROSECUTORS AND JUDGES THAT ARE DOING EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO INTERFERE WITH THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 2024, AND PUT ME IN PRISON, INCLUDING THOSE MANY PEOPLE THAT I COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY DESPISE.

Next year, Easter will fall on the same day as 420, An international celebration of cannabis. The following year, Easter will fall on the same day as First Contact Day, Trekkies unite! In 2040, Easter will fall on the same day as April Fools’ Day.

Meanwhile, a soulful and substantive message from RFK Jr on Easter’s significance. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5MbMmtv2o4/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

This has got to be the stupidest hill to die on.

Biden didn’t proclaim Easter as the trans whatever day of whatever.

He proclaimed March 31st the day of trans awareness? visibility? something.

March 31 is not Easter.

Easter is the first Sunday after the full moon that occurs on or after the Spring equinox.

It has no fixed date.

The next time this will be an ‘issue’ is 2086.

He didn’t say it was on Easter only that it was on March 31. This sometimes coincides with Easter. Weasel words like Obama and BJ Clinton!

He should have done it on April fools day as it would be more appropriate. The House should move it to 4/1 anad pass a bill mandating a research program to develop a cure for trans mental illness.
