‘I Live in Fear’: Jewish Teachers Sue Brooklyn School That Won’t Discipline Antisemitic Students
“She [interim principal Dara Kammerman] is perpetuating an antisemitic environment and a school of hate…The students continue these behaviors because they know there won’t be any consequences.”
Jewish teachers at Origins High School in Brooklyn, NY, have sued the school because it won’t discipline the antisemitic students who terrorize them.
Global history teacher Danielle Kaminsky told The New York Post, “I live in fear of going to work every day.”
On October 28, at least 40 to 50 students terrorized the school by shouting “Death to Israel!” and “Kill the Jews!” as they waved Palestinian flags:
- A student painted a mustache on his face to look like Hitler, and banged on classroom doors. When someone opened, he clicked his heels and raised his arm in the Nazi gesture, security footage shows.
- Three swastikas in one week were drawn on teachers’ walls and other objects, a manager found.
- A 10th-grader told Kaminsky, 33, who is Jewish, “I wish you were killed.”
Another student called her “a dirty Jew” and said he wished Hitler could have “hit more Jews,” including her.- Students pasted drawings of the Palestinian flag and notes saying “Free Palestine” on Kaminsky’s classroom door. One scribbled note that said simply, “Die.”
Interim principal Dara Kammerman has not disciplined the kids. She called their parents, but that’s it:
The teen tormentors have so far faced no serious discipline under interim acting principal Dara Kammerman, who has done little beyond contacting parents in an effort to practice “restorative justice,” staffers said.
“She is perpetuating an antisemitic environment and a school of hate,” said Michael Beaudry, campus manager of the Sheepshead Bay building that houses Origins and three other schools. “The students continue these behaviors because they know there won’t be any consequences.”
It’s all part of that “restorative justice” crap. We’ve seen that tossed around in at least two articles.
“Restorative justice” is a fancy term for coddling and not holding people responsible for their actions.
Here’s how the Department of Education responded: “There is currently no evidence that these claims are true, but we are investigating the claims.”
And yet:
In a disturbing instance in late January, a group of boys came into Kaminsky’s classroom at the end of the day, and cornered her, laughing, she said.
“Miss Kaminsky, do you love Hitler?” one asked.
“I was so taken aback,” she said. “I did not respond, and they all gave the heil Hitler sign.”
Frightened, Kaminsky quickly left her classroom.
One boy waved to his friends to chase her inside the building, a scene captured on security footage, Beaudry said.

New York in just a few short years has gone from being a Jewish city to a Nazi one.
Fair enough, although, I don’t think it is quite accurate to say that NYC was ever a “Jewish” city. Jews are less than 20% of the population, there. Certainly, their cultural and historical influence has been huge, but, I don’t think the Big Apple was ever considered an entirely “Jewish” city.
I think that his point was that both culturally and historically Jewish people felt quite comfortable living there…not that it is literally a Jewish- majority city
American Jews have had a lot of warning that cities are in decline, will they finally wake up, both about cities and the Democratic party?
There are three steps:
1. If it ain’t broken, don’t fixt it
2. It it’s broken, fix it
3. It it’s ruined, throw it away and start over.
We are way past step two.
The New York Post laid out the despicable situation, in its inimitably witty style — “The Kids Are All Reich.”
Er ist auf Erden kommen arm,
He has on earth come poor
Dass er unser sich erbarm,
that he may have mercy on us
Und in dem Himmel mache reich,
and in the heaven make us rich
Und seinen lieben Engeln gleich.
and his beloved angels like
It rhymes in German, poem by Martin Luther, lyrics of Christmas Oratorio
Always trying to one up yourself as the most pretentious commenter. You and Milhouse should have a pedantic showdown. We eagerly await your next apologia for the rape of Jewish women.
It’s hard to avoid thinking of the line, not helped by the Post’s illiteracy.
Reich (/ˈraɪk/;[1] German: [ˈʁaɪç] ⓘ) is a German noun whose meaning is analogous to the English word “realm”; this is not to be confused with the German adjective “reich” which means “rich”.
What should happen over rape and a lot of other abuse is happening right now. Dead terrorists and laying waste. I wonder if any Pales understand the connection, there were celebrating in the streets, and now there is wasteland. Consequences.
This is what happens when woke principals and teachers create such an environment
Public schools, particularly in urban America, are irreparably damaged. This level of dysfunction won’t produce anything other than morons and psychopaths.
I’m just fuming thinking about this story. Imagine if this were a largely white public school south of the Mason-Dixon line that was harassing a black teacher. It would be the biggest story of the month. Sharpton would be giving speeches outside the school. The DOJ would be investigating.
Al Sharp Tongue hates Jews. So threatening Jews is great for the race baiters.
This situation is so reminiscent of Germany in the mid to late 30’s. At what point will either
1. Jews get out before the killing starts
2. Real Americans just get to eliminating those who want to persecute Jews
Let’s not wait until the trains are loaded, and the. Try to fix it with another Nuremberg trial.
Just eliminate the NAZIs from the get go.
There is an old saying, allegedly originally spoken in Yiddish, that says the following. The speech of the child on the street is the talk of the parents at home
So, I have to wonder if my question of several threads ago still goes: are the children just being children, or did the incidents in Israel finally tear the mask off in the United States and that we are by and large and anti-semitic Nation just like most of Europe?
I think, unfortuneately, the latter is true…
*unfortunately (sp)
O we 80% of Americans support Israel bs Palestinians
As the polls say
It it is the bastard left that is the loudest just like the 13%
Or, it’s Israel they love but the Jews are another matter entirely.
I’ve heard that saying, but not in Yiddish. The closest Yiddish proverb I can think of is וואס ביי א שיכור אויפן צונג, ביי א ניכטערן אויפן לונג, what’s on a drunk’s tongue is on a sober person’s lung, i.e. a drunk says out loud what he thinks when he’s sober.
Kids couldn’t find Gaza on a map and they didn’t come up with this stuff all by themselves.
The people I really want dealt with are those who put the kids up to it. Parents, teachers, “organizers”, whomever.
100% guarantee faculty/admin are behind it.
I would ask these little Nazis exactly where is Gaza and how big is Israel?
Israel is basically the size of New Jersey,
I wonder if these Jewish teachers will continue to vote Dem in every election.
The “Blackboard Jungle” of the 1950s seems so quaint now.
I admit I’m curious as to the demographics involved. It seems the absence of that information is telling.
You can see the demographics here
Money talks, here as always. If the actions of the students constitute a tort, then the victim, in this case the teacher, can sue the school for money damages if the school is being negligent and can sue the parents for the actions of their children if a connection can be made. Obviously, it’s not clear that a connection can be made, but there have been instances where children have caused damage and the parents have been held liable for failure to supervise on the basis of not having trained the children or having trained the children improperly.
