Iran attacked Pakistan.

Iran claimed it targeted two bases that belonged to the militant group Jaish al Adl.

Pakistan said the attack was “completely unacceptable,” claiming it killed two children and injured three:

Iran has fought in border areas against the militants, but a missile-and-drone attack on Pakistan is unprecedented for Iran. Iranian reports described the strikes as happening in the mountains of Pakistan’s Baluchistan province.

Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry issued a strongly worded rebuke of the strikes.

“Pakistan strongly condemns the unprovoked violation of its airspace by Iran which resulted in death of two innocent children while injuring three girls,” the statement read. “This violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty is completely unacceptable and can have serious consequences.”

It added: “Pakistan has always said terrorism is a common threat to all countries in the region that requires coordinated action. Such unilateral acts are not in conformity with good neighborly relations and can seriously undermine bilateral trust and confidence.”

Two Pakistani security officials said the Iranian strikes damaged a mosque in Baluchistan’s Panjgur district, about 50 kilometers (30 miles) inside Pakistan from the Iranian border. The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to journalists.

Iran and Pakistan do not like each other. Iran has long complained about Jaish al-Adl, a Sunni militant group, in Pakistan’s province of Balochistan, which borders Iran:

Baluchistan has faced a low-level insurgency by Baluch nationalists for more than two decades. Baluch nationalists initially wanted a share of provincial resources, but later initiated an insurgency for independence.

Iran long has suspected Sunni-majority Pakistan as hosting insurgents, possibly at the behest of its regional archrival Saudi Arabia. However, Iran and Saudi Arabia reached a Chinese-mediated détente last March, easing tensions.

Meanwhile, attacks by militants entering from Iran have targeted Pakistani security forces. In April 2023, a militant attack from across the border with Iran killed four Pakistani soldiers in Baluchistan province.

Iran bombed locations in Iraq and Syria on Monday. The regime claimed it targeted an Israeli Mossad headquarters building and ISIS base.

I guess they have more hate leftover after all of their Jew hate to kill each other.

What a pathetic crop of people that run these sand castles.

A little bird just flew in my window and told me that Tucker Carlson will blame this Iranian/Pakistan conflict on:

1. Those naive peacenik Jewesses because they wanted to get raped and mutilated on 7October.

2. Jonathon Greenblatt (ADL) because he’s an idiot

3. Anybody who understands that opiate addiction is demand-driven.

4. Raytheon LockheedMartin and all the rest of the folks that allow TC to sleep safe n sound at night.

You see , Tucker knows that what’s best for America is what’s best for him.

And Tucker knows that any truth that inconveniences him is what’s bad for America.

I don’t know why Iranians and Pakistanis would want to kill each other, but I’m pretty sure that the last people whom ol Tucker will hold responsible will be Iranians and Pakistanis.

Is it hunting season in your area?

You might want to take a shot at that little bird who’s telling you lies.

What’s your beef with Carlson? You disagree with his commentary?

Danny in reply to alien. | January 17, 2024 at 8:30 am

Tucker Carlson is on the Hamas side, and the Iranian side I have no idea how you missed that.

Was it his declaration that everyone who isn’t pro-Hamas is a traitor? Was it declaring anyone backing Israel is a war monger? Was it the fact that he has made it 100% he doesn’t give a dam about American hostages?

Tucker is exactly the same as Claudine Gay on these issues.

Did Carlson blame the Iranian/Pakistan conflict on “peacenik Jewesses because they wanted to get raped and mutilated on 7October,” or “Jonathon Greenblatt,” or “Raytheon LockheedMartin?”

No? Then T23’s “little birdy” is a liar.

He publicly blames Israel and Ukraine for the fact that the border isn’t secure, so perhaps you shouldn’t be defensive of him?

He has gone into repeated conspiracy theories about Raytheon claiming that military officials seek conflict to line it’s coffers. So on at least one of your questions the answer is yes.

He has yet to have a reaction over American hostages or Americans killed October 7th. He did not however fail to cover South African racist threats towards the Boer population so…….

He has labelled everyone who is on the anti-Hamas side and who favors preventing pirates taking over a major trade node driving American prices up traitors.

He has claimed that people who support Ron DeSantis are the worst human beings alive by the way.

T23 like you is not exact on every detail. Tucker however is very much with the Harvard faculty when it comes to questions about Jews, and when it comes to questions about pursue or don’t pursue American interests.

His views are in sharp contrast to Trump’s views.

Trump feels that Biden has neglected our economic interests by not being hard enough on the Houthi Pirates and that it was a mistake for them to be removed from the terror list, that it was a mistake to start pro-Iranian policies, that Israel has not received enough of the diplomatic support it needs to continue it’s war and wipe out Hamas (which Trump supports) and that Ukraine hasn’t been given anywhere near the amount of equipment it needs which he promises to do on day one.

“T23 like you is not exact on every detail.”

Excuse me? “Not exact on every detail?” Screw that — I called him a liar.

“[Carlson] has gone into repeated conspiracy theories about Raytheon claiming that military officials seek conflict to line it’s [sic] coffers. So on at least one of your questions the answer is yes.”

I only asked one question. Rephrase: Has Carlson blamed the Iranian/Pakistani conflict on Raytheon LockheedMartin?

The answer is NO. Is there a part of that word that you didn’t understand?

I’ve never seen a Tucker broadcast nor listened to any of his podcasts.
So what? I can spot an obvious lie when I read one. Apparently, you can’t.

Danny in reply to alien. | January 18, 2024 at 4:42 pm

In context of LI comments where everyone exaggerates a comment showing roughly what someone believes is not a lie.

Tucker does back Hamas over Israel, he does claim the U.S. government promotes conflicts to benefit defense contractors, and he lies more often than not.

He claims Ben Shapiro doesn’t talk about the border (he does virtually every show) that he supports open borders (a lie).

If he doesn’t want to have his views exaggerated maybe he should adopt acceptable views instead of a blame America first stance, pro-piracy, and pro-Putin stance?

    Danny in reply to T23. | January 17, 2024 at 8:32 am

You forgot to mention that if someone is voicing views Tucker likes they are beyond even the most mildest of rebukes such (considering Candace openly declared Ben Shapiro supports genocide his calling her disgraceful response to October 7th disgraceful is about as mild as it gets) they can not be criticized.

Tucker is a disgrace and an asshole.

Pakistan has nukes so I expect a mushroom cloud over Tehran any minute. Isn’t that what we keep being told? Anyone with a nuke is too dangerous to attack because they will immediately start dropping bombs?

    alien in reply to diver64. | January 17, 2024 at 6:39 am

MAD seemed to work well as official US government policy for more than five decades.

I’m sure if Iran had nuked Pakistan, the theatre ballistic missiles would be a-flyin’.

And then — where would it end?

Downvotes? Pffft. Meaningless. Without access to commenting history such as Discus allows, any rating system on this site is useless virtue-signalling — especially when we can upvote or downvote our own comments.

Pakistan has more than its fair share of problems with extremists, both in and out of government. But, by-in-large, Pakistan has a secular, professional military. It’s not a religious junta or militant theocracy (however Iran is more appropriately described).

IOW, the behavior of the Pakistani military does not, in any way, inform us with respect to how Iran would respond in a similar situation should it ever possess a nuclear arsenal and the means to deliver that arsenal on target.

Is it just me, or does Iran seem to be asking everyone around it for an a**-whipping?

Ghostrider in reply to Crawford. | January 17, 2024 at 7:54 am

Yes, it seems that way to me, too. By the way, why is it that Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry’s statement sounds like Jake Sullivan or John Kirby wrote it?

docduracoat in reply to Ghostrider. | January 17, 2024 at 10:33 am

Because Pakistan is not really upset that Iran attacked Baluchistan province.

Pakistan has a problem with the Baluchis attacking Chinese workers in Pakistan.
And the Pakistani security forces are not able to stop them.

So the help from Iran is appreciated, but they have to make the proper noises about violation of their sovereignty.

Just watch, there will be no Actual consequences from Pakistan
