Army Sees Significant Drop in White Recruits

This is the obvious result of the U.S. Military embracing woke policies like DEI. The left has politicized the military.

Army Sees Sharp Decline in White Recruits
The Army’s recruiting of white soldiers has dropped significantly in the last half decade, according to internal data reviewed by Military.com, a decline that accounts for much of the service’s historic recruitment slump that has become the subject of increasing concern for Army leadership and Capitol Hill.
The shift in demographics for incoming recruits would be irrelevant to war planners, except it coincides with an overall shortfall of about 10,000 recruits for the Army in 2023 as the service missed its target of 65,000 new soldiers. That deficit is straining the force as it has ramped up its presence in the Pacific and Europe: A smaller Army is taking on a larger mission and training workload than during the peak of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan — leading to soldiers being away from home now more than ever.
A total of 44,042 new Army recruits were categorized by the service as white in 2018, but that number has fallen consistently each year to a low of 25,070 in 2023, with a 6% dip from 2022 to 2023 being the most significant drop. No other demographic group has seen such a precipitous decline, though there have been ups and downs from year to year.

During that same five-year period, Black recruits have gone from 20% to 24% of the pool, and Hispanic recruits have risen from 17% to 24%, with both groups seeing largely flat recruiting totals but increasing as a percentage of incoming soldiers as white recruiting has fallen.

I am going to guess that our clusterfark withdrawal from Afghanistan didn’t help either.

The one thing that will screw them now is if they get forced to use the military against some aggressor nation before they can turn it on our own “deplorables.”
Without better data than the top line number it is hard to pin down a cause.
Is the drop equal across all regions? Is the drop particularly higher among those who had a relative who served recently?
How much of this can be attributed to medical disqualification due to a move to MHS Genesis?
White kids might just be more likely to have a more robust medical history that trips them up during the process and then lose interest.
I’m stunned. Alienate the very backbone of the military with woke nonsense and then no one wants to serve. Don’t worry, though. Dems have already been floating the idea that those millions of illegals pouring across our border can serve and be awarded citizenship as a prize. Where have I heard this before….oh, yeah. Rome.
Daughter and SIL have 6yrs left for their 20 and are holding on tooth and nail. They both are not impressed to say the least with the direction of the military but are too far in to give up and both have hope it will turn around. Both love America but it is getting harder and harder.
Could part of the reason be that veterans, retirees and active-duty personnel see what’s been done to our military and no longer recommend military service to family and young people?
I pose that question as a veteran who now actively discourages people I care about from joining.
As a Vet I used to tell kids that the military was a good way to learn about themselves and serve their country. Maybe even a career. No longer do I recommend it to anyone.
