Joe Biden’s Valley Forge Speech About Trump’s ‘Threat to Our Democracy’ Was as Awful as You’d Expect

“Biden had the nerve to say democracy is on the ballot, as his party tries to remove Trump from multiple state ballots.”

Joe Biden’s speech in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, was supposed to happen on the anniversary of January 6th, but was bumped up a day to Friday, perhaps because Biden didn’t want it to interfere with his next weekend off in Delaware.

The speech was just as awful as you might expect. Unable to run on the economy, foreign policy, or any other achievements, Biden has decided to run on the premise that Trump is a threat to democracy and that he, and he alone, can save America from the former president.

Here’s part of the transcript, via the Associated Press:

In the winter of 1777, it was harsh and cold as the Continental Army marched to Valley Forge. General George Washington knew he faced the most daunting of tasks, to fight and win a war against the most powerful empire in existence in the world at the time. His mission was clear: liberty, not conquest. Freedom. Not domination. National independence. Not individual glory.

America made a vow: Never again would we bow down to a king…

Today, we’re here to answer the most important of questions. Is democracy still America’s sacred cause? I mean it.

This is not rhetorical, academic or hypothetical. Whether democracy is still America’s sacred cause is the most urgent question of our time.

And it’s what the 2024 election is all about.

The choice is clear.

Donald Trump’s campaign is about him, not America, not you.

Donald Trump’s campaign is obsessed with the past, not the future. He’s willing to sacrifice our democracy, put himself in power.

Biden had the nerve to say democracy is on the ballot, as his party tries to remove Trump from multiple state ballots.

Biden invoked the Constitution, despite the fact that his party regularly targets the First and Second Amendments.

Biden mentioned decency, honor, and truth—ignoring the mounting legal troubles of his hooker-chasing, crackhead son.

I’ll let this clip speak for itself.

Professor Jonathan Turley’s analysis is much calmer and more nuanced than mine.

Joel Pollak of Breitbart News notes that this was just more of the same, tired strategy that Biden has used in the past:

President Joe Biden kicked off his reelection campaign on Friday near Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, with recycled attack lines against Donald Trump that he had previously used in the 2020 presidential campaign.

Biden claimed — as if it were a fact — that Trump had called fallen soldiers (Biden called them “dead soldiers”) “suckers” and “losers,” an unsubstantiated accusation by unnamed sources that was refuted at the time by more than a dozen people who went on the record, including some who opposed Trump.

Biden also attacked Trump for considering the use of the Insurrection Act in 2020 — which Biden described as a frightening use of the military on American streets, omitting the fact that Black Lives Matter rioters were rampaging through America’s cities.

Much of the speech was devoted to the third anniversary of the Capitol riot of January 6, 2021; Biden moved his speech a day earlier to avoid bad weather. He made no mention of similar left-wing “insurrections,” such as a left-wing shutdown of the California State Assembly this week — which resulted in no arrests at all, even though legislators had to flee the building.

The important thing to remember here, is that Biden’s speech was a preview of the next ten months. His devoted followers in the media will repeat his argument for him between now and November. Prepare to hear a lot more of this rhetoric.

Biden will let his handlers lead point on the Republicans being racists and dividers.

The guy the cabal picked as figurehead, the guy who’s cabal created the largest and most inclusive voter fraud machine in history, the guy who’s cabal selectectivly prosecutes political rivals and tries to use jackbooted thugs to silence mentions of the crime probably shouldn’t be talking about democracy or ballots.

It’s straight out of Goebbels….

They don’t call ’em liberal fascists for nothing. And they project everything. So when they call someone a “dictator” or “Hitler,” it’s a good bet they’re not fighting for truth, justice, and the American way.

I said a couple days ago that if Trump doesn’t beat this maniac next fall, he will spend the rest of his life in prison. Biden’s unhinged speech yesterday exponentially reinforces that belief.

Countries that begin imprisoning political dissidents are countries that are teetering on edge of chaos & mayhem. I obviously don’t know what it felt like in this country in 1860. But, I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that it felt a whole lot like 2024 feels right now.

    They’ve defeated
    -The ballot box
    -The jury box
    There’s but one box left
If they’re successful again in November at thwarting the will of the people we have two choices-live in a permanent state of Marxist tyranny or shoot our way out

I feel so much happier not having watched this disgrace and insult to Washington.

Yes, there is a political threat to America. A prolonged cancer led by our past African President with his sock puppet follower. Twelve years of these traitors to America will be a moral stain exceedingly hard wash out.

The speech is a desperate attempt by Biden and his handlers to steer the election discussion away from a review of the facts. His term in office has to this point been an utter disaster from both domestic and foreign policy standpoints, and the voters know it.

Biden is not wrong. Trump IS a threat to Democrats version of Democracy.

Now is the winter of Biden’s Mal-intent. There is a catchy phrase about power and absolute that is playing out. Of course, this time they will get it right and utopia is just a few more jailings away.

Shame on people that voted for this man whose dishonesty goes back to even before he ever entered public life. As if he would suddenly become virtuous? His puppetmaster Obama smiles and pulls more strings, as his puppet, with his lying mindset, goes after Americans.

So on one hand you had an autocratic leader who ruled by diktat, put his relatives into positions of power, threw his political opponents into prison without trials or charges, imposed crippling taxes, etc…. And on the other hand, you had a leader of the people who listened to them and fought on their behalf to eliminate tyranny.

So which George is our current President going to speak in favor of?

Nothing says you are “pro-democracy” like trying to keep people off the ballot.

Biden gave his speech at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, PA. General Washington may have traveled through there.

“Today, we’re here to answer the most important of questions. Is democracy still America’s sacred cause? I mean it.” I didn’t think “democracy”… oh sorry… their “precious democracy” was America’s sacred cause. Thinking of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness,.. you know… stuff abhorrent to the Left.

The Left prefers totality of control and power…. more efficient mode to get what they want. Look what Stalin did in taking Russia from backwater to nuclear power in 50 years…. of course millions died at the hands of their fellow Russians… and at the top Papa Joe.

henrybowman in reply to alaskabob. | January 7, 2024 at 2:34 am

“Democracy” was never “America’s” sacred cause. The word, in any aspect, does not even appear once, either in our Constitution or in our Declaration of Independence.

Our sacred cause has always been liberty through citizen sovereignty… both of which Biden crushes under his jackboots every single day he occupies office.

Eastwood Ravine | January 6, 2024 at 2:50 pm

Remember all the hand wringing that Trump would leave office if/when Biden won? Even when Trump wins, they’re going make him having a Inauguration virtually impossible. Trump might be having the Inauguration ceremony from Mar-a-Lago. Heck he may very well be presiding from there as well.

henrybowman in reply to Eastwood Ravine. | January 7, 2024 at 2:39 am

You set me thinking: if Trump decided to relocate his office to a safer seat of power, one surrounded by true allies instead of mortal enemies, where would it be? I suspect you got it first try . And the irony is that the man he would have to thank for that is Ron DeSantis.

I just spent a couple hours watching YouTube clips of the 2 in Iowa

Both have their strengths, obviously, but one does townhalls and answers policy questions in detail

      The does a stand-up routine

Funny that America did not declare war because of a monarchy either…it was taxation without representation. Even in the monarchy, the Brits had representation.

This is bad fan fiction.

Milhouse in reply to healthguyfsu. | January 8, 2024 at 8:20 am

“No Taxation without Representation” was just a slogan. Do you really think that had the UK offered the colonists 13 MPs it would have changed anything?!

No, as Adam Smith wrote, the real cause of the revolution was the unfair trade restrictions that the UK had imposed on the colonies; restrictions that, as Smith pointed out, actually hurt the UK too, and should therefore have been repealed even without considering the colonists’ complaints.

Azathoth in reply to Milhouse. | January 8, 2024 at 10:10 am

      Oh shut up.

What the hell do you think “unfair trade restrictions that the UK had imposed on the colonies” means?

It means they had placed “unfair trade restrictions” (taxes on colonists imports and exports) on the colonists by imposition (without colonist input–i.e. representation).

Please, go back to the Vox sewer from which your leftist ‘explanations’ spawned.

Only a treasonous and vile Dhimmi-crat demagogue, such as corrupt, dim-witted, ornery and incompetent dotard, Biden, would dishonestly paint his political opponents as alleged “enemies of the State,” while myriad actual foreign threats in China, Iran and sundry Muslim terrorist outfits threaten the U.S., our allies and global peace.

Well, no-one is paying attention to the brain damaged CIC so not too worried about his insane ramblings. People are paying attention to gassing up their cars, buying meat and chicken and looking at the heating/electricity /insurance bills going up beyond their pay. FJB

On Tucker’s pay service today, he interviewed the congressman who grilled FBI’s Wray about how many FBI assets he had dressed up as Trump supporters. A fitting way to celebrate today!

The congressman assured him the FBI had a couple hundred disguised assets who were already inside the Capitol before the genuine demonstrators entered. He pointed out that since none of the doors are marked and the building itself was labyrinthine, average Joes would never have found gems like Pelosi’s office unless they were “guided” there by FBI shills.

    Ha — good one!

Guys, no matter who his general election opponent is Biden (or his stand in which isn’t beyond possibility) must be defeated in ’24. The stakes for giving another four years of control of the Executive Branch are too high for anyone to sit on the sidelines. Imagine Biden with potentially another 3 SCOTUS picks. Imagine how much regulatory net zero nonsense will result or how much green new deal (Solyndra on steroids) giveaways of taxpayer funds to cronies. Imagine Harris assuming the Presidency during the term and the amount of control that gives her faction of the d/prog coalition.

My thoughts are evil but here goes: I was hoping he’d stroke out on national TV. (Do they have his live appearances on a delay loop!).

I think it was over on x but I saw about a 35 second clip of him at marine one. The poor man was walking back and forth. Completely confused. Staring at the side of the helicopter in some cases. Finally, what I believe was a senior marine officer or enlisted man guided him to where he needed to go. It looked far worse than anything I’ve seen in the past.

(Do they have his live appearances on a delay loop!).

I would assume that any such broadcast event such as this would be on at least a five minutes delay if not longer. That way if Biden begins to lose it and starts to rant & rave they have enough time to cut to commercial before he totally goes off the deep end. At least that’s what I’d do.

Have you all seen this, the true timeline of J6?

“A new documentary featuring footage from January 6, 2021, details the development of the historic events at the U.S. Capitol throughout the day in several locations.

J6: A True Timeline uses video footage from protesters, police body cameras, and surveillance cameras. The documentary focuses on the progression of the protest with specific timelines. Videos detail the deaths of four protesters at the Capitol, frustration among Capitol police, and instances of violence from protesters and authorities.”

BREAKING NEWS
AP Dateline: January, 2024:

The White House is facing increased scrutiny after it was revealed today that the Administration failed to inform the public that President Biden has been in and out of a medically induced coma for the last three years, including while delivering the last two State of the Union addresses by Zoom.

Karine Jean Pierre, the President’s erudite, tufted-topped spokesperson, reading directly from her extemporaneous binder, issued the following statement:

“While the President and his expert medical team, led by Dr. Jill and her honorary stethoscope, could have done a better job making sure that the public was appropriately informed, it is important to remind the American people of the facts. These were President Biden’s private medical concerns, and he takes full responsibility for his decisions about disclosure. At no point in time did this situation divert the President from his usual schedule working 10 to noon, every day, with a chocolate chip ice cream break, for the American people.”

Pierre continues, “The scurrilous rumors that the President has been deceased since his trip and fall from his all-black, Chevrolet Suburban’s running board are false. The President’s chief surgeon generals from Johns Hopkins and Walter Reed can confirm he has the same measurable brain activity that he had when he was a vigorous young man storming the beaches of Normandy with Tom Hanks.”

The interesting thing about Biden’s statement about “democracy,” and the contrast of the Democrats trying to drive Trump off state ballots is this:

In Florida, the Democrat party has decreed that [b{ONLY[/b] President Biden will be allowed on the ballot in for the Democrat primary.

The Executive Committee of Florida’s Democratic Party voted unanimously to only have Biden on the ballot, excluding candidates Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) and Marianne Williamson.

Under Florida law, without challengers on a ballot, Biden would automatically win the primary and appear on the general ballot.

With the path to the general ballot clear, Biden would not have to spend time, effort and money campaigning nor would he have to debate anyone in Florida until after the primary.

It is not only Trump that the Democrats are trying to exclude from the ballot, they don’t want anyone on the ballot who can challenge Biden.

To channel Nixon, “It’s democracy when a Democrat does it.”

Milhouse in reply to gitarcarver. | January 8, 2024 at 8:28 am

Meh. The Republicans have done the same for incumbent presidents in the past. In each of 1992, 2004, and 2020 several state GOPs canceled their primaries. And the same was true on the Dem side in 1996 and 2012.

I declare this article fake news.

No, the speech wasn’t as bad as I expected. You have no idea how low my expectations can go.

Is Democracy America’s sacred cause?

No. It is not.

We do not have ‘a democracy’, much less this ‘our democracy’ thing the left harps on about.

America’s sacred cause is the freedom and liberty of her people. It is not ‘community’, it is not ‘society’, it is not ANY group.

It is the freedom and liberty of each and every one of it’s people to undertake and engage in their individual inalienable rights.

That is the sole purpose of any just and good government.

To achieve that goal, one of the tools America uses in a representative constitutional republic, and the tool used to choose those representative is a democratic process.

At this moment in time.

Should America devise something better, we will use THAT tool to insure the sacred cause of America.
