In Latest Blow to U.S. Military Readiness, Biden Administration Set to Spend Nearly $270 Million on DEI
Even as U.S. military forces are forward deployed to the middle east in a big way, the Biden Administration insists on forcing DEI on DOD military personnel
In what has become a recurring theme here at Legal Insurrection, U.S. military forces, despite impressively responding to the 10/7 Hamas butchery with massive force presence near Gaza and the Middle East, are once again being subjected to ridiculous and divisive DEI programming costing you the taxpayers almost $270 million.
From the Daily Wire: Biden’s Pentagon Slated To Spend Nearly $270 Million On Diversity Agenda:
The Department of Defense (DOD) could drop nearly $270 million in taxpayer funds to further the diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEI) agenda from fiscal years 2022 to 2024.
The DOD has scaled up its spending on DEIA in the past three years, jumping from $68 million in fiscal year 2022 to $86.5 million in fiscal year 2023. But the figure surged another $28.2 million to $114.7 million in the department’s initial request for fiscal year 2024.
If the DOD’s initial request for DEIA funding is included in the final legislation, the department will have spent $269.2 million on diversity initiatives across fiscal years 2022, 2023, and 2024, an average of $89.7 million per year.
And these funds will be used to push DEI into every nook and cranny of DOD:
Biden’s Pentagon has repeatedly pushed for further adoptions of the DEI agenda in its operations. The department’s Strategic Management Plan for fiscal years 2022 to 2026 listed one of its goals as “inculcate DEIA principles across all DOD efforts.”
“DEIA has impacts on both the Department’s workforce and its mission, and therefore it should be examined beyond the traditional human resources lens by which it historically has been viewed,” the strategic management plan reads, also touting the department’s effort to “institutionalize the advancement of DEIA and the value of diversity to the Department’s mission.”
And although the initial shot of DEI funding went to the Air Force, this fiscal year’s allocation seems to murkily spread it around to all the services, and next year’s request is being made with no specifics. Just trust them:
The $68 million dedicated to DEIA programs in fiscal year 2022 was earmarked for the Department of the Air Force, with the intention of increasing “training programs and diversity and inclusion initiatives,” with a portion of the funds going to “unconscious bias diversity training” as well as “increasing aviation scholarships for underrepresented universities Reserve Officers’ Training Corps cadets.”
Meanwhile, the $86.5 million sum in 2023 went towards “dedicated diversity and inclusion activities,” going on to say that the DOD is “investing in a number of programs and initiatives aimed at furthering DEIA, and incorporating DEIA values, objectives, and considerations in how we do business and execute our missions.”
It isn’t readily apparent what exactly the proposed $114.7 that the DOD requested for fiscal year 2024 would be used for, just that more information will be released in an upcoming “DEIA 2023 – 2027 Strategic Plan.”
Hopefully this ridiculous request will be dead on arrival in Congress, but based on recent events, I’m not too optimistic.
And while we have exhaustively documented the DEI apparatchiks’ capture of DOD in a number of posts, the Daily Wire piece reveals one even we hadn’t seen yet. Check this out:
The National Security Agency (NSA), which is part of the DOD, internally published a 34-page diversity, equity, and inclusion document, a recent investigation from The Daily Wire revealed. The leaked document pushes Critical Race Theory and transgender ideology, with terms like “white fragility,” “transmisogyny,” “settler colonialism,” and even the pronouns “ze” and “zir.”
LEAKED NSA DOCUMENT📄: We just published a never-before-seen @NSAGov “diversity glossary” in my new exclusive investigation with @realdailywire.
It blames “White Europeans” for “settler colonialism," attacks "white fragility," and warns of “transmisogyny.”

How this is supposed to help the world-class cryptography experts at NSA do their jobs better is anybody’s guess.
The U.S. military is grappling with a recruiting crisis and is advocating for increased funding for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). This is a disgrace to and downright dangerous as the world becomes increasingly more unstable. https://t.co/Pw71uT2Ubw

I sure am glad that two of the top priorities of the U.S. military and DOD are DEI and combatting global warming.

Luckily, some members of Congress are not impressed:
“Our military is not focused on lethality. They’re focused on diversity and climate,” Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL), a combat-decorated U.S. Army veteran who fought in the elite Green Berets, asserted. “That’s going to result in our enemies not fearing us and respecting us as they should.”
Waltz, who currently serves on the House Intelligence Committee, said that government officials “holding the keys to power, those with their finger on the nuclear button or on incredibly powerful surveillance capabilities.” are being “indoctrinated that our civilian institutions are inherently racist, are systemically misogynistic and have a colonialist past and therefore bad.”
The U.S. military should always be a meritocracy and DEI training undermines its mission by teaching our military to see soldiers through the lense of race rather than achievement.
Unacceptable and dangerous. https://t.co/mN21NtMH1u

But of course, Representative Waltz may be a lone voice in the wilderness:
Democrats in the Senate have said that any budget proposal from House Republicans that reigns in diversity initiatives will have “no chance of passing.”
God help us.

I promise to shit on Biden”s grave after he is buried, That is my salute to him, his policies, and his administration.
Not practical to do in Arlington. I made a similar vow about Teddy K, never consummated.
If the d/prog Senate majority wishes to block DoD funding b/c this DEI program wasn’t funded by the HoR then by all means let them do so. Force them to make on the record votes and let them live with the consequences.
Perhaps you haven’t met the worthless, cowardly, and. it bears repeating, worthless Republican House. Nothing will happen.
Surprising absolutely no one.
So more of this.
And Republicans in the House sit on their fat asses and pass CR after CR, allowing this to happen. In exchange we get angry hearings that amount to nothing, some more J6 video that amounts to nothing, and some insane rants about UFOs. that amount to nothing. I’m sure there’s more nothing but I’m too tired complaining about their worthlessness to note it.
And going after George Santos for lying amongst other things, when quite a few other Congress critters do the same exact thing, and the Republicans sit on their hands and do nothing. Why do they think ANYBODY will vote for them without Trump fighting for us. They are do nothings., and plenty of us are sick and tired of it all.
And they can kick Santos out after they expel the Nazis in congress.
Yet Bowman can plead guilty to a crime involving disrupting Congress and he gets a free pass
Taxpayer money flushed down the pooper for pronoun training for LGBT ?
RINO’s don’t have the spine to cut these programs out of a budget. Johnson needs to tell Schumer, my bill or no bill and no CR.
None of the services met their recruiting goals this year.
This is due to the southern, conservative families that have sent their children to serve for generations are no longer doing so.
And this is 100% because of DEI nonsense.
Go to any military blog like “This ain’t hell” and you will many commenters saying they no longer recommend a military carreer because of all the hateful diversity training.
It looks like there are not enough transexuals wanting to serve in the military to make up the shortfall in conservative southerners.
