California: Bay Area City Passes Shameful Resolution Condemning Israel, Accusing it of Committing “Ethnic Cleansing”

Mayor Eduardo Martinez asserts the proclamation promotes peace.

Every once in awhile, being a resident of California offers an extreme test of my resolve to stay for family and work commitments.

This week, one Bay Area city council decided to offer its opinion on Israel’s response to the dreadful butchering of its citizens in a most shameful way.

A California city has become the first in the US to pass a resolution condemning Israel — accusing the Jewish nation of committing “ethnic cleansing and collective punishment.”

The resolution passed by the Richmond City Council around 1 a.m. Wednesday states, in part, that Palestinians in Gaza “are currently facing a campaign of ethnic cleansing and collective punishment by the state of Israel.”

That “is considered a war crime under international law,” the resolution states.

It also calls for an “immediate humanitarian ceasefire and the safe passage of substantial humanitarian aid to Gaza,” as well as an “end to Israeli apartheid and the occupation and blockade of Palestinian land by Israeli military forces.”

“The city of Richmond opposes all existing and future military aid to Israel,” it concludes, while attempting to express support for Jewish members of its community.

The mayor of this entity asserts the proclamation promotes peace.

Mayor Eduardo Martinez, a Democrat, claims that he voted for the resolution because he believes American taxpayers are on the hook for what he referred to as an ‘apartheid state.’

…Despite his inflammatory rhetoric, Mayor Martinez claims the shocking resolution promotes peace.

‘This proclamation chooses human lives over politics,’ said Martinez.

He also claimed that referring to Israel as an ethnic cleanser and an apartheid state was not anti-Semitism.

Of course, when it comes to the Ukraine . . .well, this city council has an entirely different view of how much support this nation should give.

Wind waved the Ukrainian flag on the flagpole outside Richmond City Hall on Monday, hung to show support for the Ukrainian people.

The blue-and-yellow-striped banner, made by Richmond resident Claudia Citroen, joined the California, Richmond and Pan-African flags. Mayor Tom Butt and Richmond residents gathered for the Ukrainian flag raising to support the country, which is under attack from neighboring Russia.

“I hope somebody in Ukraine reads that the people of Richmond are rooting for them,” Butt said.

Of course, there may be reasons the leaders of Richmond are sympathetic to criminals and terrorists:

The 2020 crime rate in Richmond, CA is 462 (City-Data.com crime index), which is 1.8 times higher than the U.S. average. It was higher than in 95.9% U.S. cities. The 2020 Richmond crime rate fell by 1% compared to 2019. The number of homicides stood at 20 – an increase of 4 compared to 2019.

The city council’s actions are drawing a considerable amount of justified criticism.

My only consolation: California is a very long state, and there is a great deal of distance between me and this insanity.

We do things differently in San Diego.

Hundreds of people gathered at the San Diego County Administration Building Sunday afternoon for a rally in support of Israel as the war in Gaza enters its third week.

Dozens waved Israeli flags and banners that read “We stand with Israel” during the protest, organized by a coalition of several organizations. Others held flyers with the names of people who were reported missing or held hostage by Hamas after the initial Oct. 7 attack.

“We’re here to show our support for the hostages that Hamas took in their attack” said Bruce Levine, who attended the rally. “As time goes on, people’s memories get a little bit fuzzy and there’s been so much focus on Israel’s response that a lot of people have forgotten.”

Thomas Jefferson said that a nation can not endure both free and ignorant. True…SoCal is far removed from the communist enclaves in The North… but ignorance knows no borders.

The truth is that Muslims refuse to be ruled by Jews. The proof is that they hate no problem being ruled by the worst tyrants such as Syria’s Assad. It’s only the fact that Israel’s are Jews that causes problems for Muslims.

I live in Commiefornia for work, and because I have family here.

When I retire, it’s going to be literally ANYWHERE else.

Today is my first work-day NOT on the left-woke coast. My former house closed on Fri. I covered as many as 1200 miles a day for 3 days hitting speeds as high as 105. No car can go fast enough when leaving a blue state.

It’s surreal to realize how much baggage one can carry. I now get to experience life w/out a government limiting my access to plastic straws, shopping bags, and magazine capacities higher than 10 rounds.

So the original attack at the festival was Israel was ethnic cleansing. It seems to me history doesn’t say the Palestinians were attacked by Egypt, Syria, Persia, or Rome. That was the religion. Well, these jokers say New England needs a home state now. It’s the same thing.

Seriously, don’t the city councils that pass such resolutions have anything better to do?

Whether they are on the right side (Israel’s) or the wrong side (Hamas’) of the issue, shouldn’t they spend their time on CITY issues and business?

I think of “ethnic cleansing” as just moving people out of the way, and it’s clearly necessary in the case of Gaza. They cannot live side-by-side in peace and security with Israel, because they’ll commit more violence, and if any of it succeeds, they’ll blame it on a security lapse on Israel.

They have to go elsewhere.

Fascinating how the intrinsically and immutably supremacist, totalitarian, belligerent and hate-filled ideology of “Submission,” and, the fascistic acts and behavior of its most fanatical adherents, never come in for even a scintilla of criticism, from Leftist dhimmis and American Dhimmi-crats.

Muslim supremacists and terrorists are apparently completely devoid of agency and responsibility for their beliefs and their actions. Everything that they do is allegedly a justified action made in response to the alleged wrongs and transgressions of Israeli Jews.

The Leftist/Dhimmi-crat alliance with “Submission” is a revealing case study in the brazen hypocrisy of dhimmi Leftists and Dhimmi-crats. These reprobates can bloviate all day long in self-congratulatory lectures about “social justice,” “minority rights” and “anti-fascism,” yet, they will gleefully align themselves with the most manifestly totalitarian, fascistic, misogynist, anti-homosexual, hateful and belligerent ideology currently in existence.

“Every once in awhile, being a resident of California offers an extreme test of my resolve to stay for family and work commitments”.

With respect; staying in what is functionally a hostile foreign country [San Diego may be different from the Bay Area, but both are subject to the politics and decrees of Sacramento which is ideologically a lot closer to the Bay Area and HAMAS.] is a sufficient risk that you may not be able to return to America at your leisure if things get critical. At the very least you and yours should have a fallback plan to do so ready to go, just as Americans in Israel should have had plans to get out once Oct, 7 hit because as what happened in Israel proved, the US government does not care if Americans are trapped in hostile territory.

The 0bama bin Biden admin wishes to make the former USA hostile territory.

There are things that can be done in local jurisdictions. Wa Gun Law (youtube) featured a gun shop in rural Wa that kept selling high capacity magazines in violation of the new law SPECIFCALLY with the intent of the AG going after them.

Reasoning was that the first challenge to the state law had no geography of injury and thus got moved to liberal Thurston County where the judges are all anti-gun commies. This happens for state laws being challenged. HOWEVER -the AG had to go after them and enforce it at the address and county they lived in- and that judge is NOT a commie and can see the law for what it is.

That said I got the hell out of Wa. My mission is to give free bus tickets to Seattle for all criminals.

The Richmond City Council members know this was a safe vote. Richmond “enjoys” a high percentage of that class of people Jews bent over backwards to help, and are hated for it.

Those who know their not so distant past may agree with me that Goodman and Schwerner wasted their time, and ultimately, their lives.

Do you think the Council members will wear their Hammer and Sickle arm bands in public or hide behind their Resolution?

BLM supports hamas.

BLM are domestic terrorists.

last, (only), time I attended a City of Richmond Council meeting, back about 1976, the meeting was delayed while the Black Panthers led a demonstration down to the front of the hall to make a statement. Not much has changed?

Well I guess we know where Richmond stands now. I was waiting on pins and needles for this resolution. I’d imagine now that this all important piece of garbage has been signed, they can get back to the business of minding their own business. The citizens must be so proud of their politicians (their betters). Gag!
